  1. I built the UCS B-Wing 10227 over the weekend as the kids and I continue to work our way through our Star Wars want list whenever we have enough profits from Legos sales to finance our next buy. I enjoyed the build as it had some different pieces that I have never used before...plus I am always a sucker for a large OT set. I haven't built the 75050 B-Wing for comparison, but have been busy selling them to pay for sets like these ?. (Sorry for the low quality pics...we had bad lighting and just snapped them quickly.) Next up for us will be the Tantive IV 10198, which we are excited to finally build.

  3. Finally completed US Capitol this evening. Taken me a couple of weeks, half an hour here and there. The dome at the end was the best part of the build. Amazing how long this thing is (45cm) and twice the length of White House. Really like the contrasting white and sand green.

  13. I built Krennic's shuttle today and the striker on Friday. The striker has really grown on me. The elongated body isn't my favorite, but I love the length and shape of the wings. The mechanism to move the wings and lock them in place are nice. The shuttle was ok. The wings are huge, but I hate the body shape. Not thrilled about the ball joints for the wings. I'm less sure of the friction keeping them up than the ratchets in the tyderium. Interesting how every panel is designed to open. You can carry 5 characters and stash 4 guns in back. Honestly, I got this set for the figures.

  15. Hello everyone Today we finished our Lego Star Wars Battle on Hoth Echo Base MOC after 7 years of building. We tried to put as much details as possible of the movie in the moc and we think the result turned out really well. But that is just our opinion. What do you guys think? We'd like to get some opinions of you and what you like and what we could improve next time. Greetings to all of you

  16. I love this set. By far the most unorthodox building techniques of any set I have built to date. Kudos to TLG for Making it very sturdy. I am not sure yet how I am going to rearrange and fit this in yet though. I was hoping to display vertically.

  17. I started working some concepts in Google SketchUp, and then moved to Lego Digital Designer. I estimate total design time was about 50 hours. I wanted to generally match the design and proportions of the lighthouse in the cartoon, and yet keep it minifigure scale. About 50 hours of design, just under 2000 pc, and just finished. I hope you like it.

  18. Wal-Mart clearance helping his collection along. At a dollar to 2.50 a piece we cleared the shelves. One of each for him. He already snubs the mega bloks. He finds it much easier to use the short LEGO studs in comparison to the one bulky mega blok stud.

  20. only 1 US certificate number for them as of now so that should be one run overall for US. Tested 12/27/16 and entered 3/22/17 EU has 26 but believe they just have to do 1 for each country. There docs just say date signed which was 1/3/17 for all of them. Possible the full run was 1409 as well. Both signature / entry dates being after the production of 49/50B6. Interesting while checking last US Castle cert was December of 2016. On the bad side T1 was just issued another on 5/29/17. Good thing we were getting low...

  30. Jason Alleman (J K Brick works - creator of the Lego Maze 21305) has a sound/light/Bluetooth brick project on Kickstarter at the moment. He integrated the PFx Brick into the Saturn V: Superb! I'd also promote backing the project on Kickstarter as it only has 11 days to go and is just 10% short of its target.

  34. People give out the whole time that the vehicles haven't changed enough, but do real military vehicles change that much over time, course they don't. Do you give out that aircraft carriers look just like much bigger versions of the ones they had back in WW2. Or have tank designs really changed that much over time either?

  39. I've always sold all of my minifigures opened packet, taking a photo of the un-assembled figure with accessories / stand / leaflat / bag in a sealed plastic bag. The price you will get compared to a sealed minifigure packet will be less, however for most newer series I haven't noticed a substantial difference in prices. For the early minifigure series there is a greater difference in price. Opening the packet also eliminates the time needed for smoothing (if like me and are rubbish at it) and also confirms to the buyer they are getting what you are advertising. There is a risk that if you don't open the packet and the buyer returns the item, he can just returns another undesirable minifigure from the series, you will not be able to win the case saying you smooshed the packet and received something else. One word of advice, some will say that once the plastic bag packet has been opened it is no longer considered "new" condition, and you need to list any opened bags as used on eBay, however I have never had anyone complain about this, but it should be kept in mind.

  41. To say it 100% correct: The "desirabilty" and the "reasonableness" of multi-tasking are myths. But there might be situations where you still have to do it if you like it or not. For example if you are threatened to be killed by a bear and a giant seahawk at the same time - sequential execution of the two tasks won't help in this case ...

  42. Nobody can. Or more precisely: You cannot do two (cognitively damanding) things (properly) at the same time. Multi-tasking is a myth. Splitting up your attention between two or more tasks will always lead to inferior results for every task involved. For the best results, sequential execution is inevitable. However, this case is about building LEGO and watching a movie - so it doesn't really matter.

  44. My son finally finished off the Seacow. Our first ever ship and , I have to say , I'm very impressed. Love the colours and the ship design. So used to SW grey and black , it's great to see other colours in a set . Much bigger than I had imagined when the hull pieces were first put together.
