  1. I started working some concepts in Google SketchUp, and then moved to Lego Digital Designer. I estimate total design time was about 50 hours. I wanted to generally match the design and proportions of the lighthouse in the cartoon, and yet keep it minifigure scale. About 50 hours of design, just under 2000 pc, and just finished. I hope you like it.

  8. You will want to cover up any existing labels or barcodes every time. The warehouse workers process hundreds of thousands of units every day and have a few seconds to to process your items. Make it fool proof for them and you won't have any issues (we also like to make sure the FNSKU labels or UPC codes are all facing the same way to make it super easy for the processors to spot and scan). We order the 6x4 blank thermal shipping labels from UPS (free) and they ship out huge rolls giving you thousands of blank labels. We use those to stick over any existing shipping labels, barcodes etc. Very easy, quick and free.

  12. I don´t agree. It´s a perfect example of what can and does happen and the risks of Lego investing. WTS 10249 was another prior example, so was 75105. It´s just one of many scenarios but we cannot and should not ignore it. We knew there would be a new DS about 9 months ahead but only 3 or 4 before was it clear it would the OT DS and not a R1 variant. The sell window had already expired by then as the price correction on many sets such as DS and Red 5 started in the spring of 2016 after TFA. To make good money people had about a 45 day window from SOLD OUT status in Europe and it is hard to shift sets of this price that quickly.

  13. I have been trading bitcoins and other altcoins since 2013 and I was just able to quit my dayjob. I wrote my Master thesis on bitcoin and take the blockchain developments as one of the most important revolutions currently happening in tech. I recommend people to put a little bit of money in both bitcoin (1 = $2800) and Ethereum (1 = $250) and just let it be.

  17. It's the same gamble you take with any new line. If the series continues for enough time to attract collectors then series 1 will have value. It's what happened with Micro Fighters and same seems to be true with the Speed Champions line. It's just working out which series will endure and which will flop.

  18. There will always be a corner of my loft for this one. It's performance has been really disappointing so far, but it is such a exceptional set that you have to think it's day will eventually come. There's some serious Batman vehicle overkill on the market at the moment, but ultimately, when all the Lego Batman sets eventually retire, the cream will surely rise to the top, and this is unquestionably the best Batman vehicle set money can buy.

  23. My first MOC - Ninjago Lighthouse Siege 2.0 A couple months back I got an Amazon bargain on a couple LEGO 70594 Lighthouse Siege, and that’s where it started. My 8 year-old son and I had enjoyed the episode in which the lighthouse was featured. The set has many great play features, but just doesn’t look that great… I thought, “Why not put two of these sets together and build a real Lighthouse Siege?” And so it began. Collecting various images from the TV episode, I quickly discovered that Lego set 70594 bears almost no resemblance to the source material.

  28. In recent weeks, LEGOLAND California has gone through another price structure change. This time, removing discounts from "Sale" and "Hard to Find" items that are carried in their shops. In year's past, annual passholders would expect to find LEGO sets priced at RRP. With a LEGOLAND California Annual Pass, a 10% discount was applied to all orders. During the years of "no discounts on exclusives," this made purchasing exclusives, such as modular buildings, a little more desirable at LEGOLAND. Late last year, LEGOLAND California started raising prices on certain items, to "balance" the Annual Pass discount. Items such as the Disney Castle, which has an RRP of $349.99, has been priced at $384.99 at LEGOLAND California. With the increase in price, the discount works out to less than a $5 savings with an Annual Pass. This price increase is not limited to just "Hard to Find" items, though. Even items like polybags, minifigures, and Brickheadz have seen a $1 increase over RRP. With this new policy, comes the pledge to reduce pricing back to RRP. "You should notice we've reduced prices on the Hard to Find items," said one employee this past weekend. (Although, the Disney Castle is still listed in store at the higher price). In my own analysis, LEGOLAND California was most likely losing sales on the Hard to Find items to the non-Annual Passholders. Without a discount, there's not much need to buy a $385 Castle when you can order it from Shop At Home for $35 less while you're standing there, and have it waiting for you when you come home from vacation. Keep in mind that state tax rates at LEGOLAND California are 7.75%. Whether this policy remains in effect during the usual Christmas season passholder double discount sale (20% instead of the usual 10%) remains to be seen. No word yet on whether this will affect any other promotions that periodically go out to Passholders as well. For the time being, though, one of the extra special "perks" that were granted to Annual Passholders has been taken away. Investors that were using that perk as a means to leverage a little extra out of their Annual Pass will have to rethink that purchase when it comes to renew their passes. At this point in time, LEGOLAND Florida does not mirror this policy, although they do have a policy of restricting purchases as they see fit. View full blog article

  29. another Christmas one as well 5004934 LEGO Christmas Set, could be a box set type thing though. Gingerbread man and Chicken Suit Guy Easter still listed as well so those are still in existence. Scarif Stormtrooper also listed so should see it show up as promo at LL too. R3 will have a buddy soon

  32. This is not good example for investment purposes. New DS is not a remake or a facelift version of 10188, it is SAME version with just updated figs and with some invisible bricks more. Everyone knew that new DS will ruin the investment potential of 10188. Even the new DS has bigger price, every AFOL is able to buy it at least with 20% discount for eur 400, so cheaper than the previous 10188 MSRP price (eur 420). Even if you bought 10188 for discounted price -20%, its eur 336, and if you want to have some profit + satisfy long shelf life in your storage, you must go to at least EUR 380. But everybody will rather pay eur 20 more for new version with new figs. So 10188 lost its potential first day after new DS was announced. Only idiot would keep 10188 sets, because they have ZERO potential for future. The only way how to save money was to sell all stock as soon as possible, even without a profit. Its absolutelly dead investment, even in horizon of 10-20 years - because new DS will perform better than 10188 in future.

  36. I think they are the spinners, not flyers. Morro, Zane and Wrayth are selling for around £10 each in the UK, sometimes more. These were only £3.99 at SAH a few weeks ago in the UK. Kai is rarer and can fetch £15 to £20, although Kai wasn't in the half price sale. Maybe the price will creep up further after the movie when Ninjago will be seen by more people. 6 isn't many to buy to have a complete collection, which could appeal to some.

  39. Glad I could help. It's funny how the amount of analysis I did changed. I looked at that one and wondered why I had so few parts listed and why I didn't have price guide values for everything. Anyway, I think the windshield is something to look out for. I just checked and it's still pretty cheap. Many sellers are less than $1 on it. Be on the lookout for incorrect colored pieces. I see one straight off in the cockpit section. Obvious piece of old gray.
