  5. Saw these sets tagged yesterday when picking up a Saturn. The grain of salt would be that this is the same store that had a 'Retiring Soon' tag on Ewok Village at least 9 months before it actually happened, and well before it had the tag online, so this could be in the everything-but-the-Death-Star-retires-eventually category.

  8. I am not a QFLL but I do watch as new sets are introduced and hit the local online classified section within hours trying to get a quick profit. It is interesting to note that in all of Ontario there are ZERO listings so far for this set. May be a sign that people buying it are actually interested in building it.

  12. Just a guess, but I think donbee wants that R2D2 poly to be as limited in distribution as possible. I don't think it was a critique of the set itself.

  13. eBay raised my monthly limits to 87,500 listings and $6,600,000 for being a good seller. I typically have about 40 active listings at any one time, with a total value that probably doesn't top $1000 I called eBay CS and the first thing that the lady said was "the eBay computer must have been drunk! I've never seen that before!" Since it supposedly doesn't help or hurt me as a seller, she said just to keep it as it is. I guess. I hope this doesn't reduce my likelihood of getting special promotions.

  14. This thing is a masterpiece of design. I don't know if, in all the years I'm into Lego, I have seen such subtlety and mastery in an official Lego set.

  15. Can't wait to see it, although I'll be steered towards seeing the one true superhero movie being released this weekend, "Captain Underpants".

  25. And if WM's Store Pickup experience is any indication of the level of service we can expect, I'll pass...I don't fancy standing at my front door for thirty minutes while the WM employee searches through their car for my package.

  29. Mine does that as well if it's a single set in the order. The blow dryer trick works well on them as you said. in good news for Kmart, a few more stores are getting the "blue" remodel as seen in the two stores in NYC. We could actually be seeing them putting some money into their stores again (first time since 2002) I'm starting to suspect that if liquidation isn't Kmarts endgame that they might become a regional chain clustered in areas were they still have profitable stores and loyal customers. It seems from the closure lists they are really starting to pull out of some areas / states where they have too much competition from Target, Walmart, and Meijer. That could honestly be the best option for them to survive. Hopefully someone at SHC takes full advantage of that.

  31. So disappointed they aren't continuing the classic minifigure box series. Previous three were al offered as a promo in July, so I don't think we'll get one this year. They could have done a Western themed one or Adventurers or something. Or just classic Town.

  33. one of my best ebay message exchanges ever. we can't even make this stuff up. total fruitcake. happened 3 months ago. i was the buyer for a diagon alley set. - Sent by me at 7:47pm. "Hi. I just paid and did read your auction summary, A couple of missing pieces is fine. I take it that all minifigures are included? I also assume the lego retail box will mailed inside a shipping box for protection. Please let me know me know before mailing this set. Thanks," - seller's reply 11:34pm - "Dip those on some oil the shlt will get you faint" - my follow-up 12:24am- "What?" - seller's reply 6:07am - "I am so sorry for that message I was under the influence last night and I confused my eBay messages with my text messages. I would like to apologize for saying those words to you" - seller's reply 6:09am - "Yes it's all in the box and it will packaged as well" ha ha

  37. There's the store in Temecula, one in Ramona and one in San Diego. If I had to guess, only the Ramona one will remain. There's no other store like it up in Ramona. Kmart is just one of many many Targets, Walmarts, etc in the Temecula and San Diego areas. What's funny is my closest Kmart closed a couple years back (2014). And finally, this summer, another store is moving into it's former location - Target.
