  7. What are all you guys gonna do when Kmart finally shuts the doors ?? First issue: what are you going to with your extra 5 hours a week you're saving from not having to figure out Kmart's uber complicated rewards system? Second issue: what retailer is going to let you shop at their store and take merchandise off their hands for a net loss now?

Never ever ever highlight all the totals in your "Parts you've purchased on Bricklink" tab and look at the SUM in the lower left corner of your spreadsheet.

Did you also find a purple chicken and throw it into the volcano? That is the part everyone forgets
  12. Ignore the heretics fellow SYWer. Don't let them plant their treasonous ideas in your head, and let us continue to pledge ourselves to the teachings of fast Eddie the wise. LONG LIVE KMART! LONG LIVE SHOP YOUR WAY!

  15. Wow, poor kids. I won't make my kids build that one on the spot.
  16. May want to call the store and ask to be sure. I'm running under the assumption that they will either forget they're doing reservations, or, after the first hour/the reservation line is gone, they will start giving them out to whoever shows up.
  17. My first 'real' job when I was 16 was at Montgomery Ward in St. Charles, Illinois.
  18. The problem with that statement is: That last sentence still gives the buyer the option to say "ok, I waive my rights and want it in an envelope", which holds no value should the buyer put in a claim with Paypal once the item arrives damaged. I do not budge on the tracked shipping. I have this in my Shipping terms. ALL items will be sent with tracking, and I even include that items over a certain threshold will be sent with signature requirement as well.
  19. I have to give them credit, I hadn't set foot in a Kmart in 20 years until I started slingin' in Lego. Now I have office furniture, a nice wooden table and all the disposable cups I can use from Kmart. It's my go to for anything disposable, like toothpaste and deodorant.
  20. Of course, I forgot the sacrificial chicken! I'll chalk that up as a rookie mistake.
  21. And with "Long" we mean ... until our next points can be utilized. Carpe Diem.
  22. On first issue: I gave up trying to figure out their system some time ago, I just go with the flow 2nd issue: stop talking nonsense! Kmart forever!

89 spots left at my local TRU (Emeryville, CA) after registering for three (my two kids and me). Thanks exciter!
  28. They might want to keep Ferris Wheel around a bit longer to support the sale of the new Carrousel. Maybe an early 2018 retirement... I do agree with you regarding Temple of Airjitzu. It's definitely (in my estimation, heh heh) going to get retired before 2018 arrives. The Village I don't find too likely to retire this year. It's not even a year old yet! If the Minecraft sets sell well enough, then there's room for both The Village and the Mountain Cave sets. SHIELD carrier is pretty much a sure bet to be retired this year. Regarding Slave-1 and TIE Fighter ... I'm guessing the Slave-1 will go before the TIE Fighter, and is a likely candidate for retirement by end of this year. TLG might surprise us by moving the Mini Cooper to retirement before the VW T1. I believe the T1 sells better than the Cooper, even after all these years of availability! Tower Bridge ... Yeah, it's long overdue time for it to go.

The Streetview promotion is back, 24 sets to choose from to get the 4 little tiny modulars: http://www.toysrus.ca/family/viewall/index.jsp?ab=TRU_PDP_LegoStreetviewGWP_04212017_EN&categoryId=85305826&overrideStore=TRUSCA There's nothing good to part out at that price, but it may be interesting to some!
  30. More from my 5 year old 70737 Titan Mech Battle
  31. Thanks for the memories. Venture. Zayer. Service merchandise. Soon we can add Kmart to the list.
  32. The Mine and Ender Dragon have been good investments for me. We´ll see how the Vilage does when it´s gone but I don´t think it´s a worth seller than ToA. Those Minecraft sets move units at Xmas time but it does seem weird that both themes are going to get such large D2C sets with 2 still on the market, in Europe at least. I´m guessing that Ferris Wheel, ToA and The Village will all retire this year along with SHIELD, Slave and Tie Fighter plus our old friends T1 and TB. 8 in 8 out would be too logical, though.
  33. I bought this lot off of Craigslist. The seller listed the Lego truck and I emailed him to see what else he had. This is what he brought. 3 have instructions. He was asking $60 and I bought it for $40... Maybe 15-20 cents on the dollar which is higher than I like, but the sets are near complete and already built (separated). Like nearly every other seller I find on CL he "just sold a set last week... I think it was Green Grocer" lol. There's also a bag of 8 Toy Story figs ~$5-10 @. Lego truck is missing all sticker parts, but I have half of them in stock. About 10-12 parts missing total between the sets. Monster Fighters - Mummy Monster Fighters - Werewolf Monster Fighters - Vamp Hearse Monster Fighters - Crazy Scientist Lego Delivery Truck - needs $5-10 in parts Toy Story - Pizza Planet Creator Log Cabin
  34. From both my kids over the last few days/weeks: 70902 Catwoman Catcycle Chase 41233 Lashina Tank 70321 General Magmar's Siege Machine of Doom (maybe one of the best set names ever)
  35. Yeah I'm gonna do that closer to the date. Thanks!
  36. Just for your info the end date is tomorrow 27th April, would not wait till Friday as the £10 voucher will have ended.
  37. Map tile: 3068bpb1010 - Tile 2 x 2 with Treasure Map with Compass and Dark Brown 'X' Pattern Yellow tile with code: 3069bpb078 - LegoTile 1 x 2 with EXO-CODE XFxxxxxx Pattern Can't find the black slope. Looks like a double cheese slope to me, but you mention it is 2x2, is that correct? Anyways, this sticker doesn't show under double cheese slopes. Given that the Map tile is fairly new (2016), this might be a part that isn't yet in the inventory with sticker.
  38. Cause those damn polybags take up so much room
  39. This sums it up right here. On top of that the counterfeits only make matters worse. When I got back into Legos after taking an investment break in 2008, I was watching ebay auctions like a hawk waiting for BIN amount on older sets that I for sure would not lose money on if I bought them and resold them at current market value minus ebay fees and shipping. I was extrememly justified in the high cost as I knew that the prices would not go down. Well the SSD I bought at a screaming price of 800 MISB back in 1/16 is now worth at best 800-850 sealed now, with many selling sub $800. I lucked out and sold mine at $900 when i felt the tide turning and only lost about $30 after fees and shipping as the buyer lived a couple hours from me keeping shipping low. If they lived in WA I woulda died. I did the same with any significantly priced higher set, cashing out with a minor loss, back when I bought them, the price i paid seemed nearly bulletproof. The point being is that the justification for paying the sky high prices is now gone, given that the market is no longer a "sure" thing. There are significant cracks in the wall that are forming, with a potential dam about to break. While the golden oldies (Taj, 10179, GC, etc.) will always hold significant value due to the rarity and the fact some collectors just have to have the original, nothing moving forward will ever remotely produce returns like previous and based on buy in will likely not be worth the time to deal with in regards to storage and shipping and listing. It could be conceivably possible to lose money... something previously unheard of in Lego investing unless you just went off the rails with RRP Chima.
  40. Someone buying from you will want at least 35% off rrp... If you have to factor in fees and shipping, poof! You're losing money... This is a no-keep for the future retirement days of this set.
  41. Had a n00b buyer on BO requesting a quote for shipping to Greece. Before providing an official quote, I sent her a message giving two options: with or without box, because this was a $20 set and shipping with box would have been ~$25 on top of the cost of the set, but without box I could ship for ~$15. Didn't hear back for 2 days, so decided to just push out the quote for the expensive option. Next day she responds to my message saying she wants the full box experience and she wants to place the order. I explain she needs to accept the quote and complete the sale in BO. In the meanwhile she asks when this will be delivered, to which I give a "roughly 1-2 weeks" estimate. Another day passes, she responds asking "when are you shipping this and when will it be delivered to me?" I reply with a lengthy email explaining to her step by step how she needs to go back to her cart in my store, look up the quote under shipping methods, complete the purchase and pay through PayPal. Silence. Two days later "Sorry, but I want to cancel this order". *Sigh*. Luckily she never placed an order in the first place, but what a hassle ......
