I'm back from a nice little trip to Venice (Italy) and the Adriatic Sea. I browsed some shops and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this: (I don't know if it's visible, but the brown LEGO shipping box contained a 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon and there's a 10189 Taj Mahal, too.) And that selection was only the tip of the iceberg, they had almost every historic set. It was like a LEGO museum on the seafront of a small beach town. So I maxed out my credit cards and bought them all, right? Wrong! I guess they had all those sets because their prices were straight from Cloud cuckoo land. For example 10181 Eiffel Tower was € 4,990, 10187 VW Beetle was € 2,990 and 76042 Helicarrier was € 550. Insane! So I had to settle for these little souvenirs: (4) 75134 Galactic Empire Battle Packs @ 60 % discount (relatively scarce in Germany) (12) 41171 Emily Jones & the Baby Wind Dragon and (6) 41178 The Dragon Sanctuary @ 20 % discount (very scarce in Germany)7 points

Here's my brick linked set. Seller sent me the wrong round tiles so the only thing that's wrong is the over head lights are yellow instead of clear. Waiting for the correct ones to arrive. Haven't opened my Skiff yet so that's why Han's got the old hair [emoji4] Cute little scene! I love the red flooring in the hallway. May need to expand that. The official one should have really included a Leia.7 points

Managed to snag myself a bargain due to the remake. Also in mint conditions as well as box and instructions in impeccable condition. No yellowing of bricks as well. Will still be getting the remake but may not necessarily be a day 1 purchase now.5 points

Based on Yellow Submarine and Adventure Time, it will be exclusive to any shop that sells anything.4 points

And let's just say two more sections and you will end up with this.4 points

I'm quite pleased with my unexpected haul. Thought I'd rub it in a little. Quality over quantity. I would've, maybe should've, grabbed more polybags but I wasn't expecting to find two extinct birds. And a great deal on some on the endangered list. All the new stuff was only 10% off and the princess was a whopping 15% over priced, but worth it.4 points

I had a similar experience the last time I was in Europe (I believe it was in Krakow). There was a really small LEGO store around Old Town with a bunch of really old BNIB exclusives at ridiculous prices. It was really nice to see them in shelves though, rather than on eBay lol. Bought Battle on Takodana today with TRU Rewards for my personal collection3 points

Although I don't disagree with your post @jaisonline in terms of the masses, personally I'm drawn to these sets that are little different. I like the prequel trilogy, expanded universe, yoda chronicles, freemakers adventures, etc sets. I'll take that vs. the 6th rehash of a popular O/T vehicle in most instances.3 points

8x Friends poly from Target for $.39 each. Time to sell them for $4 on eBay and double my money3 points

Looks like those exclusives were US imports as the boxes all had part counts on them.2 points

From the article it just said "carousel" not re release, we really don't know what, if anything, is coming here. The argument that Lego can never refresh a set is tiresome, they've done like three Ferris Wheels, each better that its predecessor, at least 3 Maersk ships, don't even get me started on Star Wars or police or fire stations. It's been a decade, it's time for a new one.2 points

Honestly, if you're still holding a 10196 expecting it to continue to rise you may have some issues.2 points

Wow, you went from zero to Star Wars tech geek in less than 12 parsecs.....I Love It!2 points

I ordered myself an original version from the USA. Looking forward to keeping it closed forever2 points

Seems to be going backwards with the design my 2007 one did not require the see through technique parts which spoils the set.2 points

Okay, I've triple checked the parts list I just created with the instruction manual and the parts list in the instruction manual. I posted the list publicly on Rebrickable here: CELEB2017 - Detention Block Rescue You can go on there and export the list to a Bricklink XML. Open it in a Text Editor, copy and paste it into the Bricklink XML box, and you'll have a complete want list. NOTE: Bricklink doesn't like the Stormtrooper helmets or Luke's had that Rebrickable has in their inventory, that should go for this set. So if you need those, you'll have to manually add them yourself. This should hold us over until Bricklink approves the set, and a couple of us can verify the inventory.2 points

Finally got to finish my Batpod 5004590. Managed to get all new parts, some were spares, others from Lego and bricklink, the dark pearl grey shield pieces from a small stack of breaze flee machines I found in TRU. Thankfully I sold the spare pieces in groups of 6 to help bring down the price of the build. Think it came in around 40ish quid.2 points

I think many people are still finding creative and lucrative ways to make money with LEGO reselling, it just doesn't seem like buying the large, expensive, D2C/ exclusives and stashing them away for a few years is the pathway any longer. For the record, I'm really hoping I'm wrong on this. As a guy who's 75% collector vs. 25% reseller, I want all those big, expensive sets I have sitting on the shelf to keep increasing in value.1 point

Create a blog post. You can look at my store to see how it looks.1 point

Its coming already in May, not a rumour it is on the official lego release date list.1 point

At least the new one is a Syliure-31 long-range hyperdrive module, where the old one was a Syliure-45 hyperdrive module. So it isn't really a remake.1 point

Ah, a case of the rare spotted Brickpicker Optimist, thought they were pretty much extinct round these parts. Loving the optimism1 point

Which means that the alleged "eternal availability" of the set in Legolands won't happen and it will now indeed become one of the fastest-to-sold-out, most sought after promo sets in recent years.1 point

I think I'm looking forward to this set more than any set since Mars Rover, to quote Willy Wonka, the suspense is killing me, I hope it'll last...1 point

I broke down and joined in on the Shop Your Way madness once again. My kids have actually been asking for a Star Scavenger, so it was a perfect excuse to get back into the points game 2x 75147 Star Scavengers for $45.76 after discounted gift cards, surprise points, and SYW points. I also got back $29.43 in SYW Points... (This is why we were short SHLD and SHOS in my fund back before the borrow rates got ridiculous. No way this company makes it.) Now I have to figure out what to do with my $30 in Rewards.1 point

Well, I finished. I am not positive that I didn't make a mistake because something beeped at me in the middle of what I was doing and couldn't figure out what. but this should be pretty close. Unique lots 58. Total piece count 218? must have missed adding 2 pieces, probably a couple plates. I think I was near the end working on the plates that make up the top. Last 6 months sales average by quantity value $48.30. (probably $48.50 with the 2 pieces I missed.) Most expensive pieces: Han Solo's Hair $5 Han Solo's Head $1.15 Luke's Head $2.57 Stormtrooper Helmet $2.40 Stormtrooper Torso $2.20 Stormtrooper Legs $1.40 Everything else is less than $1.1 point

My daughter finally finished up the Republic Gunship after a long hiatus due to Spring busyness. She left the stickers off (which is a first) bc we are planning on selling this one at some point, but my son and daughter really like this one. Lots of playability and a sturdy build, and it usually ends up being loaded with about 6 extra mini figures and an occasional Friends mini-doll. Pretty sure they also added the large 'rock shooter' missile from Coles Tread Assault 9444 to it to give it more firepower after we took the pics as well. Ha!1 point

Had built this a few weeks ago and finally applied the stickers. Designed by Bruno Jenson, instructions by Thorsten and professional stickers by Jaap Technic. More info can be found on rebrickable and Eurobricks.1 point
