  1. I like to take pictures of my swag when I return from Star Wars Celebration. I know this pile of items is small compared to most attendees and I included the KMart items from the 2 stops on the way down. I took the family this time, so my swag collection was very limited. I spent most of the time following my son and our group. I had to keep an eye out for all our kids, so I didn't get to browse or shop much this time. Anytime I looked at something for 2 seconds, it seemed one of our kids disappeared or were engulfed by a wave of con goers. We received very late notice (Thursday evening), but we're very lucky. Each of my family members who entered the LEGO exclusive lottery won. We feel very fortunate. None of my friends or their family members entered, don't get me started on that.
  2. Well, I finished. I am not positive that I didn't make a mistake because something beeped at me in the middle of what I was doing and couldn't figure out what. but this should be pretty close. Unique lots 58. Total piece count 218? must have missed adding 2 pieces, probably a couple plates. I think I was near the end working on the plates that make up the top. Last 6 months sales average by quantity value $48.30. (probably $48.50 with the 2 pieces I missed.) Most expensive pieces: Han Solo's Hair $5 Han Solo's Head $1.15 Luke's Head $2.57 Stormtrooper Helmet $2.40 Stormtrooper Torso $2.20 Stormtrooper Legs $1.40 Everything else is less than $1.
  3. lol - yes. including that claw thing creeping in the lower right corner. this was my one and only time. i made a mess, shelf swiped, victory dance/air guitar solo followed by a quick trip to the hanes aisle. sales clerk stocking the shelf literally 2 feet away, eyes wide open mouth agape at the spectacle. i wish i had some security footage. one of my all time greatest surprise lego endorphin rushes.

It's Ackbar's coffee mug, isn't it? The element?
  5. Did some cursory hunting of the B&N website, and found only a few things so far on clearance, most already mentioned. Lego City Fire Station - 60004 - $49.97 Elsa's Castle - 41062 - $22.47 Spaceport - 60080 - $59.97 Deep Sea Heli - 60093 - $24.97 Training Jet Transporter - 60079 - $24.97 First Order Transporter - 75103 - $45.97 I was in the middle of searching more Star Wars legos, but the website stopped working for me. I'm sure others can add to the list as the day goes on.
  6. The points back page on checkout is finally back!
  7. While everyone is busy driving from one Barnes & Noble to another, I thought I'd share my purchases today: Needed 3 new tires for my car (4th one was still good as it had been replaced recently). Goodyear tires are on sale (25% off) at Sears.com. Got them for $315 before tax after discounted GCs (RRP at Sears and at my garage $455 before tax). No coupons applied as "these items are already being sold at the lowest price the manufacturer allows". Then I applied my 20% back in points Gold VIP benefit. $75 back in points. Interestingly enough, points posted immediately, so I ordered $100 MSRP in LEGO sets at 20-30% off, plus $10 off $75 coupon, for $67, paid entirely with points. Discount brand name tires with free LEGO, not a bad deal.
  8. Not much in my Lego budget so I left a lot for my other local BPers. But I've been watching this TOA for over a year waiting for this day. It's for personal build and the rest are for my loyal Amazon customers
  9. I fixed my file. I'll double check it then upload it again for those who don't want to type it all into a bricklink wanted list CELEB20017-1.bsx

All jokes aside I do hope you find a buyer for it. It is an awesome set and being BNIB (carton) is a huge plus. Good luck to you!
  11. Barnes and Noble clearance did start today. I don't have a list of sets yet. I know Ninjago Morro Dragon is half off. As is 60080 SpacePort. Honestly, at quick glance doesn't look like a ton of sets are eligible. I'm sure someone else will have a more full list before I do
  12. Well, here they are... [emoji6] https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5nqTh5wFAb6NWVLRm1wV05ZQWs/view
  13. Effort is minimal to be honest. Live in London and have good contacts at TRU, SMYTHS and Lego shops who give me the heads up and keep stuff aside for me, including Pakaging from Lego which cuts down my costs. Im also connected up with my local LUG. Wife or mother in law drops packages into post office. I'm just investing to pay for my personal UCS Star Wars and Modulars and then I'm done. From the 'what did I build today' threads you can see that I've already got most of the older, more expensive sets and based on profits banked from my first year, about 80% of the outlay for those sets have been paid for already. By the end of this Xmas season I think I will be done and I will just buy for personal builds since returns are diminishing and it's more about jumping on those deals as well as identifying value. Much like my day job in the city. Although depending on how much the UCS Falcon tops out, this may extend for a little while yet. :-) My wife does ask why I even bother with this approach and not just buy the sets outright, since funds aren't an issue and therefore not bother with the hassle of hunting for deals and storing etc. The answer I give her is that I do enjoy it. From the analysing of sets and determine a good buy in and sell point and then reinvesting that into my personal collection and ultimately the building of those great sets.
  14. Been slowly acquiring HP sets. Snagged this complete with most bags sealed for $65. Great build! I'm hooked on these sets.
  15. Finally got around to build R2. Set was brand new in box, so I put it off for this long. Fun set to build, end result looks good. Some gripes I had were couple problems with instructions and at one point the colour tone they used changed suddenly. The small technic pin used in the leg area to prevent the feet from falling off is nearly impossible to put on. I had to connect one end to a flat piece and then transfer it in place. Front opening panels are rather tight and the left side comes apart too easily. I had difficulty positioning him properly with the third leg out. An improvement maybe to add some slopes to the head to make it look smoother. Besides these complaints, I like this set. It was larger than I expected and displays very well!
  16. I'm building for me, but yes, people do sell them. The Batpod I think is one of the most famous examples of an exclusive that people put together to resell. Last year's escape from the space slug was getting sales.
  17. Sold several Comic Con '66 Batmobiles that I Bricklinked.
  18. I think Target uses a general DCPI (204-00-1379) for all LEGO Minifigure Series blind bags (at least my local one does).
  19. I'll be going through and putting it into Brickstock later. The part list at the end would have been nice though.
  20. Yes, thank you for moving it. I figured it was OK since it was the first day, with several other posts above. If I find anything else, I'll send it over there.
  21. While this is technically a "Daily Deal" please contribute your findings over here:

To the original post : Its going to be a challenge for you to sell to a brickpicker for that price as most of us who have waited to get one mint, wouldn't mind holding off for a few more months till the rumor either fizzles down or solidifies with some concrete information. That being said, I wish you all the luck in finding a buyer at the asking price you mentioned. I have seen listings on Ebay bottoming down every day with some not even taking a bite at $2000 let alone $3000. The reissue rumor as caused some volatility in the market as most people who are holding on to are trying to cash out. Just my opinion. I would recommend either CL or Facebook marketplace where you don't get a buyer remorse burn.
  25. MODS PLEASE GO AHEAD AND CLOSE THREAD, THIS WON'T BE TOPPED. Galaxy Squad 70709 Galactic Titan, Amazon FBM, $109.99 BOOM!

After about 16 months of collecting/acquiring stock, I finally began my first foray into selling. I listed all of these items last weekend. eBay: Raptor Escape - $118.5 (I bought 3 from a guy in a Wal-Mart parking lot for $120 about a year ago) Wookie Gunship - $70 (buy-in was $40 from Target clearance) Series 1 Microfighters X-Wing + TIE - $40 (buy in was $20) Rhino and Sandman Supervillain Team-up - $39.50 (buy in was $19 from Wal-Mart clearance) Loose Minifigures: Jek-14 - $20 Ithorian Jedi Master - $15 Wolfpack Clone Troopers (x2) - $20 AT-DP Drivers (x2) - $8 Kallus - $10 All in all, I'm pretty satisfied with the return. I never intended this to be a major source of revenue, but these sales at least somewhat offset the cost of my habit. I'm sure I could have held on longer for higher returns, but I've run out of storage space and my (live-in) girlfriend is constantly reminding me of this fact.

The Millennium Falcon 75105 is a real mess inside and outside, so it was time for me to tidy up that ship and rearrange the parts. Chewy got a kitchen with stove and coffee maker, the beds have a carpet in front, and telephones are installed at the couch area.
  28. You mean the girl that surrounds your post?!
  29. looking at my BL store, in my new parts I have about 40 lots from 57. I need to pull those before I sell them. A shame to sell them and have to buy for myself.

It's seems to be a very bad time to be trying to sell one of these right now, especially a mint sealed first-edition. You're probably better of holding out and see whether or not a new version gets released. It's a gamble, but it may pay off for you if all of these rumors turn out to be false.

  39. 4 wins on that detention block set!! Gotta be delighted with that.
  40. Thanks @Philb, what a solid deal! I'll have to call SYW to get a few of the $2's that didn't post, but I did learn that you can buy B&N GCs at Kmart with Kmart GCs I cleaned out a store today at net discount of 36.2%. ($25-$5-2$=28% before GCs). C'mon 50% sale Monday B&N!

The A-Wing is BACK! one of my favorites,
  43. In honor of our recent trip to the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama and in anticipation of the new Saturn V launch in June, my daughter and I built this classic model.
  44. Not as dismal in the US. We are at $99 FBA, down to 64 sellers (10 fewer than just a over a week ago). eBay is at $90 so not far behind. Bricklink still has some bottom feeders to clear. Time will tell how long it will take to clear that $100 threshold consistently on Amazon and eBay. I'm sure we'll see another influx of sellers when it starts to climb well past $100.
