Bought 2 a while ago when they were -40%, built them, and modded them. Raised the arc by 2 1/3 to fit a train through, raised the pilars by 3, and took out all the moving parts. Shortened it to 80 studs to fit well into a Lego town, train running in between the modular houses (Pet shop works well here at 16 wide)

I have had a few Big Buck sets bought with stolen and hacked credit and paypal accounts, now I always got my money back, so what I been doing now anything over $400 I will get the buyers contact info and call them and ask if they really did buy it, I sold a SSDS yesterday and called the person to confirm that they did purchase it, since January I called 2 winners on a SSDS and 10212 and both said they didn't purchase it and had there paypal account hacked. Plane was from online purchase with store pick up, used points to get it to $10. so went to pick it up today and found minifig bags plus Battle pack which was 20% or 30% off of $12, 71011 bags were over $4 but used points on them and on the Battle pack so for 3 x 71011 and SW Battle pack I spent $15.

If you don't fully link your eBay/PayPal (i.e I require my PayPal password to be entered after a purchase), you can just close your browser before completing the payment. eBay considers the sale as having occurred but they effectively abort the payment by not completing the PayPal portion. My guess is they sided him with because he has good feedback and probably sweet talked an eBay rep on the phone. He could have simply claimed "I really thought I paid for it" and since eBay CS can't see what happens on the PayPal side (wasn't it really clever for them to slice the businesses apart...) its his word against nobody (ie PayPal). eBay doesn't like to admit their system is flawed as we all know. Really, it's a PITA but not overly serious in the grand scheme of jerk buyers.

Require immediate payment on BIN, solves that problem.

I have this one kid who has messaged me at least 50 times the past 4 months with half my asking price on offerup. He can't drive so wants me to deliver it to him the next town over on top of it lol. I'm in no hurry to sell , but I have to admit he's wearing on me though with his willingness to not give up. I'm probably gonna chalk this one as my good deed for the year.

Have you checked out some of the buying benefits of your credit card? Chances are you have. However, you may have missed some features that can prove to be incredibly useful to a Birckpicker. A growing number of cards have a price-lock feature. It will allow you to essentially get reimbursed the difference if the price comes down on something you bought up to 90 days from purchase (or your cards time limit). I wish I had known about this sooner as I would have taken advantage of it when the SC from Amazon dropped below what I paid for it. Another helpful feature is the extended return period. This allows you to get reimbursed for an item even after the initial return period ends (up to a set time period-which for me is 90 days). Now, you can't go to town on these befits forever. They do set limits on how much they will reimburse you let calenders year. Also, there are caveats. Some include used items, items from bidding, a software, gift cards, etc. Still though, it's a terrific feature which can help you make sure you get the best deal. So make sure to check out your CC benefits! It can prove to be incredibly handy!

I would recommend checking your credit card benefits. It should be listed under "Benefits" somewhere in your account dashboard. You could alternatively Google "[your credit card name] benefits". That should pull them up. if both of those fail, a quick call to your CC support will clear it up ;). I have a Discover IT student card and I can find my benefits in the "Benefits" section.

He can't alter the listing after it's sold. As Alpine stated file a SNAD and move on. The seller misled you by listing in the LEGO category rather than the generic building blocks (or whatever it's called) category for custom or off-brand blocks. Next time, don't engage so much in messages. We all want to say our piece but you should have kept it short and sweet - "I can't find any LEGO markings on the parts. Are these genuine LEGO minifigures that you sold me?" No matter the response, it supports your SNAD claim. After said claim is successful THEN you go report a bunch of their listings for violations of the search and browse manipulation / wrong category. Post a link to a listing here, some fellow BPers will report some too. Make them move their shit product to the right categories.

Can't figure out if it was listed in a LEGO category. Seems like it was. If so, just file the SNAD and move on.
