Ok - nobody who participated in the above conversation is EVER, EVER allowed to complain that EBay/Paypal fees are too high, even if they go up to 25%. You know it is too good to be true, and still you order. Unless you're just going to take your loss, you are going to get EBay/Paypal to make it right, which in the end costs us all money. Thanks.9 points

Quick update: I just got home with the bins. They weigh over 100 pounds and are very clean. So far, there are very few Mega Bloks and I have already confirmed a few sets from themes including Star Wars, Lego Movie, City Arctic, Scooby Doo, and Super Heroes. I am looking forward to sifting through all of this over the next few months. What I can't figure out will be great for free building. Thanks for your help. I will keep you posted on what I find!6 points

I ended up paying $200 ($2/lb) and the lot was much bigger than I had expected.5 points

Inspired by last night's "Rebels" episode. I'm probably going to build a couple Y-Wings to go with it. Imperial Assault Carrier also made a noteworthy appearance last night too. Hmmm...4 points

Just a couple examples, but he also said he'd buy Dragon Sanctuary's and other stuff if he could. After the 10th declaration of not buying anymore, you stop listening. It's very depressing to read through the old posts.3 points

I managed to get a Raptor Rampage and a Livi's Pop Star House at B&N. Though they were not on sale, I did get a GC from Raise and a 10% membership discount, bringing the price down to ~$95. Not the deal best or purchase ever, but I least I did not pay full price for these retired/hard to find sets. Discounts on sets like these are hard to find or non-existent where I live. A special thanks goes out to Sfcommando14 for his advice.3 points

Why buy cheap MMs when you can get a new Boeing for $12 instead? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-10177-787-Dreamliner-New-in-Sealed-Box-dgedg-/252795912036?hash=item3adbcf7f64:g:F4MAAOSw32lYuS0C I can always find listings like these. Stop biting on this crap and try reporting it instead.3 points

And this being the case (I know some will argue for looooong holds... but the risk of remake and low CAGR are real), Exclusives have gone from the most to least attractive "investment" plastic.3 points

I guess you all know about the lightning deals today.... Some better than others... I call this my "poor man's temple" My son received Tiger widow Island and dojo Showdown (70756) for Christmas. We're throwing a ninja themed birthday for him tomorrow and my wife wanted a Center piece. So I looked through my inventory, but I didn't have any thing large or nice enough. So I decided to MOC one using what we had. Not bad for 15 min worth of work.3 points

This is the same as about 40 other auctions I have seen, the Red 5 X-wing £14.99, IST £14.99 and a few other things. I think they are managing to find old unused 100% historic feedback accounts to hack and maybe keeping the value low to avoid detection from Ebay but going down the quantity route rather than 1 high value.2 points

in the US currently $130 on amazon with 49 sellers. I wouldn't be surprised if this thing hits $160-180 by halloween 2017 . i will begin to unload once we are north of $160. i'm surprised its doing as well as it is and kicking myself that i didn't buy a few more when shop at home had the scooby pack including this set and mystery machine on sale last year when there were promos. with sale and promos, it was over 30% off.2 points

its an anomaly ... that store probably just got to the pallet ... its retired and scarce in the wild ... that's easy money staring you right in the face ... if you have your quota you can walk, if not, think twice ...2 points

This theme best shows the effect that the horde of "min-emazers" had on overall LEGO investment performance. Everyone started piling in on the large exclusives (which have not performed so well), and started ignoring the small/medium sets (which comparatively, have done so much better)2 points

Except that in those 2 movies the bad guys were on the offense (ie. they attacked the villages) as supposed to R1 where the good guys were on the offense (ie attacking bad guys' HQ). Big difference. Also, some of the good guys survived the battles in those 2 movies1 point

I deleted all the nonsense and verbal attacks this morning. Everyone needs to remain civil on this forum. We'll deal with folks via PM after we read through all the garbage back and forth posts that were littered on here over the past hour. In the meantime, stick to Ewoks.1 point

You have to wonder why they keep pumping down those buildable figures, and sets like bionocles. Those things never seem to sell well. Next we will have "Brickheadz", which are just a terrible attempt to tap into the funko pop craze. In the Star Wars realm, i'd say that last years Droid Escape, Hoth Attack, and resistance x-wing were 3 sets that were completely unnecessary along with all the buildable figures. There were 43 sets when you take in Buildables (9 sets), regular sets (28), UCS (2), and microfighters (6). I think the microfighters are very popular, but I don't think many of the buildables are. I constantly see those on clearance and few buy them. Of the buildables that retired, only Grievous seems to be shooting up. This year, it's the A-wing, revised Desert Skiff, and Landspeeder sets. The freemaker adventures are also duds, as I never see those sets selling in my local walmarts, and week after week they sit there with the same stock always in place, just like the buildables. Most of the other sets move, although captain rex's at-te is one that seems to shelfwarm quite a bit. The Rogue One sets seem popular because they sell out quite a lot and over the holiday season they were gone and hard to come by in December. Overall, I think they had just the right mix of Rogue One sets, but they over did it with Force Awakens. Sometimes less is more, and I hope they trim the Star Wars offerings to where they produce about 20 normal sets per year, with 1 big UCS vehicle set, and 1 UCS playset. I think that is fair. They need to cut the human characters from the buildable line and just stick with figures that make more sense for that sort of thing like Vader, Grievous etc.1 point
