  3. I'll chime in that my two daughters (5 & 7) absolutely love the Elves sets and the Youtube movies when I let them watch them. We've built the entire first wave and have built 3/4 of the second wave (Dragon Sanctuary was tonight) and they are pretty nice sets. Bright colors, lots of play features, and far less pink/girly/shopping themed then most of the pink crap out there. If you swapped out LOTR elves for the mini dolls and few darker pieces, these would be pretty kick ass for boys too. It's a great line, and since it's woefully unpopular, I think I've manged to get everything out there for ~50% off MSRP. Maybe not great for you investors/re sellers out there, but great for a parent who wants to share their love of LEGO with their kids and not break the bank.

  5. God, i could write a book about it honestly. Here is another one - Out food shopping with the Mrs. So as you do, i say " i'll just go and have a look in the Toy isle darling " Head into the toy isle and there were about 30 x 75034 for about £4 each. I don't have a basket so head off outside to get a trolley, put the sets in the trolley and head off to checkout. Instead of putting them all on the conveyor belt thing i give her 1 set and say " i have 30 in total to pay for ". Lady on the till says " what do you want all them for ? " my reply is " what's it to do with you ? ". Next thing she picks up a microphone and blurts out over the tanoy system" manager to till xxx and security please ". Now i have half the supermarket staring at me. Two minutes later 2 security guys turns up and a minute later the manager. " What is the problem ? " I respond " there is none " Lady on the till says "he is trying to buy xxx amount of these" and the manager says " what is wrong with that ? " I pay and head off into the sunset. You could'nt make it up !

  7. Nonsense. The only reasonable explanation here is that buyers literally prefer 30611 to 10225, even for the same price. You heard it here first.

  8. I think 75912 is a steal at that price. I don't think it was ever lower, even during the crazy sales in December.

  12. I want to announce a secondary raffle that will take place a week after the conclusion of the main St. Paul School LEGO raffle. This raffle is designed to be a "thank you" for the most generous of the LEGO raffle contributors. The $100.00 amount will be a total of all raffle ticket purchases or donations. Upon conclusion of the primary LEGO raffle, I will aggregate the Rallyup.com data of the contributors and raffle off ONE of the packages below: COMCON004 2009 San Diego Comic Con Display (Ahoska Tano, Clone Trooper, Mace Windu) #290 of 300 COMCON006 2009 San Diego Comic Con Display (Count Dooku, Asajj Ventress, General Grievous) #69 of 300 COMCON009 2009 San Diego Comic Con Display (Anakin Skywalker, Clone Trooper, Obi-Wan Kenobi) One of 1250 COMCON019 2012 San Diego Comic Con Collectible Tin (Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator) #305 of 1000 OR A SEALED CASE (64) OF MR. The raffle will also be exclusive in nature, with potentially very few participants. As always, if these prize packages don't interest you, we can always discuss one that would. So good luck...Remember, it's a scientific fact that generosity makes you happier and healthier! FOR EVERY $100.00 OF TICKETS BOUGHT, THE CONTRIBUTOR WILL RECEIVE ONE TICKET FOR THIS SECONDARY RAFFLE!!! Thanks again to all who have participated (and will participate) in the St.Paul School LEGO raffle!!!

  23. First wave elves did not include dragons, and many are still on shelves for retail or less. We won't know how wave 2 elves/dragon elves do until we see some retire. But there are many on here who have done quite well with minidoll sets, especially when they are readily available at 50% discounts.

  24. Quit cursing lol! I sold 7x Supergirls @ $70 and 33x Swear words between $50-59, though most at $51. Not all today, but in the last couple weeks. FBA pre-undercutters on the swear words. If any of you are undercutters, they sold just as fast at $50 as I'm sure they do at $40...

  32. For my final post of this year, I am proud to introduce the Range Rover Evoque with air ride. The car was too black so I added white, it was too low so I raised it a stud and the hood wasn't slanted enough so I re-created the front of the vehicle. I reduced the weight to 6.3 pounds (2850g) The car functions really well, I highly suggest using an S-brick for this car as the receivers are hidden behind the seats. This car has 4wd, air ride, torsion bar suspension, 2 XL motors for drive, 2 m motors for lift, V8, servo for steering, gear shifter turns on the lights. The car is finally to a perfect scale. The hard parts of this build was the air ride, torsion bar and having the doors start low at the front and higher at the back. I bought a pair of custom chrome exhaust pipes for this built. flickr: https://flickr.com/photos/139930963@N04/sets/72157676733470861 MOC-Pages: http://moc-pages.com/moc.php/435565 Below is the car in comparison to the 42052 helicopter set Air ride Range Rover Evoque by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Back end was super difficult: Air ride Range Rover Evoque by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Everything opens: Air ride Range Rover Evoque by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Interior: Air ride Range Rover Evoque by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Top view: Air ride Range Rover Evoque by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Air ride Range Rover Evoque by lachlan cameron, on Flickr I'm ready to take my helicopter to work... 35. Snow day here so built two ugly sets AA and Chicago, not sure which is worse. The white on AA is supposed to be snow after I shovel out tomorrow I will replace it with black and dark grey but still not sure if it can help this set. I know Asylums are not supposed to look nice but this thing is bad. It does come with 12 Minifigures and a cop car but unless it gets major screen time in the movie I can't see buying this for a kid as a play set for $150 when they can get the batcave. Ninjago and Nexo have better playsets out for less. As for AFOLs Blah save your money. The mini builds are very simplistic nothing on the level of the Kwike Mart. Investment, I will let @Val-E break that down. Man that castle is tall still have to find a place for it.

  41. SYW and $5000 Raise GC Limit - I'm not sure if this topic has been discussed, but one of my biscuit wheels on the SYW/Raise GC gravy train went off the track today. I talked to a SYW supervisor and asked if there was a limit to the Raise deal. She said yes, $5000 lifetime per account. At that point Raise just stops sending the info to SYW and your 8% in SYw points goes away. I took a look at my spending on Raise and I'm over the limit by a few hundred. Oh well, I'll take the 8% of $5000, spend it on KMart Lego deals before the company goes belly up, and go look for the next GC deal.
