Don't know if folks have a Farm and Fleet nearby, but I scored a Misfortune's Keep for $34.99 and the newest Spiderman Doc-Ock set for $17.49. There were other deals like this, but sold out online.3 points

Amazon buyers generally have higher incomes and value convenience and their time and are not primarily concerned with prices (they only discriminate based on prices on the platform). Not every Amazon buyer is like this, but the vast majority of FBA members fit into this category. If you have more money than time, and Alexa, you simply don't care about ebay. There are also plenty of amazon sellers who will never understand the pool of customers they are marketing to and will drop prices below ebay prices - wait them out for the big profits.3 points

I do agree that the new versions of the Burj and this set make the old ones look amateurish. SO, that's one thing going for it.. .but I also agree with Waddamon that there are so many architectural marvels out there they could focus on. Right now they are just rehashing stuff we've already seen. The guggenheim didn't really need a remake, nor did the burj. They could have moved on to other buildings, because there's only about a million to choose from.3 points

yup. i sold my 2 75054s because prices are getting bloated for a vehicle that has been remade many times. i saw nothing special about this set compared to my motprized 10178 and 8129. pic from eurobricks edited by me. note: 10178 isn't standing up straight so it appears shorter. link for more details = http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/search.cfm?searchterm=at-at&sort=set_pieces&order=desc here's more at-at comparison pics. see the pic above to know which at-at is which lego set. http://brickset.com/article/12296/review-75054-at-at3 points

Slave 1 was also discounted in the TRU.com BOGO 40% in may 2015... Not really official either but available to all who were around before the poofed. But yes I would expect more discounts on Slave 1 once it gets closer to EOL (when ever that is...)2 points

Not a deal: Kmart has a lot of new sets on their website and they may be prime for SYW points use and accumulation.2 points

I assume that SEO plays a role here. Someone goes to google and searches for lego atat and finds the first link to Amazon, clicks buy, done.2 points

So that pretty much does it for the Architectural line. By the way, aesthetically, the new design sucks. The previous classic white/black one had class - I am not sure what this one is trying to do.2 points

You did mean to say a bunch of badly overpriced sets in this wave, right, right? Can't believe how little bang for your buck there is on most of these sets. The Battle on Scarif has to be one of the biggest jokes out there, €60 for 419 pieces and 4 minifigures, only 2 of which are important to the movie. The A-Wing for €50, really, are people really going to pay that just to get Lando. The only set that looks worth getting when you see them on the shelves is the Y-Wing, it looks like a proper set, in a decent size box. This is the biggest threat to the secondary market, over priced, under sized sets, with Lego messing up things so badly with their own business that people will stop buying Lego for their kids, whether on the primary or secondary market. Rant over.2 points

Rule of profit is you haven't made jack until you sell. So holding equals a zero return until sold. If I had a hundred I could see waiting a bit, if I have 3, that is 75-100 dollars difference, who cares, you won, take your gains and move to the next. The big sets have a strong trend line, despite a flat or small down year. Hold the line on those knowing small risk of Lego remaking. Seller count goes down, supply goes down, prices start moving up. Patience and also not being too greedy, just a little.2 points

Dinosaurs are just a popular theme, and I think this theme was very popular over the 2 years it was out. It's unknown if Lego group will get the license for JW2, but that's going to be a tell tale sign on how far these can go. Regardless, I think all these sets will at least double by next christmas. Plus, the amount of people holding stock has dropped in half compared to last year, so many dumped their stock and got out.2 points

To you veteran Lego fans out there it may not seem like much, but to a 4-year-old these Legos are everything! Finally, we were able to get him sets he could put together himself; they are all he has been playing with. I am only aware of this site because of the generosity you showed St. Pauls last year. I know it has already been said, but thank you for your donations. I look forward to following the rally this year! Any help you can give is absolutely appreciated. On a side note - I brought our family to a train show in Bordentown, NJ. On display was a wicked Lego train setup. It was just awesome. Of course the 4-year-old train enthusiast still can't stop talking about it. I have a feeling I will definitely be using this site in the future to find the best prices on those sets ?2 points

Latest UCS Star Wars Build. I knew that the Imperial Shuttle was huge but still taken aback by the size of it. Side by side comparison with Vader's Tie and the AT-ST, and it dwarfs over them.2 points

Well, 2016 is wrapping up... So, as we sail into 2017 and a whole new set of sets are on the way, let's take a look at the retirement sets and what they could bring us in 2017 and beyond. Here's what I speculate. #19 - First Order Snowspeeder - I think this set will double, but it will be a slow double that might take a few years to get there. It's quirky, it was only seen as a background in the movie, and you barely saw the snowtroopers in action. Overall, it sits as one of those sets that will be in a grey area. #18 - Hoth Attack & Droid Escape - in the US these sets had a 9 month shelf life. There really is nothing to either though, and the Han Solo minifigure from the Hoth Attack set was in a polybag a few years back. The snowtrooper, and rebel trooper are also in other sets, so nothing too exclusive here... but Hoth Sets always seem to do well. I expect this one to also double in the future. Droid Escape has the Jawa's.. This is a set you pair with a Sandcrawler. #17 - Sith Infiltrator & Naboo Starfighter - The sith infiltrator has never been a set that has made a lot of profit, and I don't suspect this one will either. On top of that, Darth Maul, and Qui-gon are in an upcoming set, so those figures are going to appear again. I guess, the Watto Minifigure is really the best thing in this one, but Watto is not that iconic of a character. I feel the same way about the Naboo Starfighter. #16 - Hailfire Droid - This set is below average in my opinion. The first Hailfire Droid was far superior. The minifigures on this one aren't really going to boos the value either. This is one that might hit 2x but take forever to sell at that price. #15 - Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter - This set doesn't do much for me, but it's one of those quirky sets that some star wars nuts love to own. Sooo... i'd stash a couple just in case. But, I suspect it will have slow resale potential. #14 - Set of Series 3 Microfighters - Microfighters have some juice to them. I recently sold off a series 2 set for almost 2.3 x it's original RRP value. I also have sold series 1 complete sets for quite a good amount of profit. Overall, I still think these little sets have some legs. Selling them in complete sets makes it easier though.. and just how i've done it. #13 Imperial Troop Transport - Rebels set with 4 stormies. Overall, they are unique to the rebels theme, but i'm not sure the Stormtrooper figures themselves will be as in demand. With the Rogue One battlepack containing more troopers, and every advent calendar containing one, I doubt these skyrocket in value. Still could easily get close to 2x. #12 - Geonosis Troopers, Shadow Troopers, and Senate Soldiers - i'm grouping these together. All of these have interesting minifigures, but i'm not sold they will quickly double your money. Overall, good to have a few laying around, but nothing worth having a ton of. #11 - Tie Advanced Prototype - Cool ship, and interesting build.. It's rebels though, and i'm not sure the rebels theme will have long legs. Same can be said about the Imperial Assault Carrier #10 - Obi Wants Interceptor - Anakin's Jedi Interceptor has almost hit 3x... I suspect Obi's interceptor will do a similar. It was around for a lot less time than Anakin's, and I don't think as many copies were produced. #9 - Resistence Troop Transporter - I personally like this set. It's plain jane, but with Carrie Fishers death, this set could very well have some momentum. It also had a relatively short shelf life of a year. Overall, not the most iconic of ships, but it's Leia's ship. #8 - FO Transporter - Captain Phasma, with Flametroopers and FO Stormies will sell this one as EP 8 and 9 approach. I personally like this set out of all the first wave of Force Awakens sets. I know others don't, but I like the minifigures, and absolutely think the ship design itself is fun, quirky, and serves its purpose. My son also plays with this one quite a bit. #7 - Ewok Village - This set has already jumped up in value... To me it's a great set, and just one of the best Star Wars sets any kid would want. It's also stacked with minifigures and has a iconic exclusive Leia figure.. #6 - Battlefront Battlepacks - These sets have some interesting variants, and minifigures. While the builds are nothing great, the minifigures like the Shock Trooper, and some of the rebel alien soldiers could be solid "semi" rare minifigures in the future. I see these easily doubling, if not quadrupling in a few years. #5 - Vaders Tie Advanced vs A-wing Starfighter - What I like most about this is how short its shelflife was. That alone should make it a rarer set in the future. This one is a crap shoot. I think it can go either way... but I think because of that it's worth putting in the top. This is a set that either goes near 4x or hovers near 2. #4 - Death Star Final Duel - Iconic scene from the OT. OT sets are usually solid, and this one has a lot going for it. I think it could do well. It's already jumped out of the gates. #3 - Battle Droid Troop Carrier - Say what you may about the Phantom Menace, but these Droid vehicles are gold as investments. The MTT from 2014 is already 160 on amazon, and this set is it's little sister. I personally, think this was an awesome build, and a great freaking set. It's by far the best troop carrier, and no one was talking about this one. I give this one a real chance to hit 140 in a few years. 3x or bust on this one. #2 - Sandcrawler - Give it time... lots of time, and this set will be the one where you make the most money for little effort. Even if this set doubles, you make hundreds on it by just having to go to ship a set once. Not bad. #1 - Imperial Shuttle Tydirium - This is by far the best set that retired, IMO. The minfigures are great, and I really like this set and think it will perform very well over time. I also don't see them making this one again in a long time.1 point
