I finally finished our Christmas village scene today. It has the Winter Toy Shop, Santa’s Workshop, a polybag snowman build, the 2015 toy train (the Lego giveaway) and this year’s reindeer polybag build in it. The seeds I planted for more pine tree spouted nicely over the course of this year. I was planning on putting the Fairground Mixer in the scene, but my kids said it was closed for the winter season!

I sold 7 of mine for $90. Buy-in was $35. I'll take it.

I also got a t-shirt that says "I went to Wisconsin and all I got is some old Lego set" So that's the story, I'm suprised it lasted at $250 for 2 days since I contacted him.

I listed a bunch of sets on Craigslist the other day. Got a text last night at 3am about the Scooby Mansion and Mystery Machine. Guy came this morning and gave me $160 cash for both. I'll take it. I needed $$ as the December specials killed my wallet!! Buy in- $80 and $25. $55 profit and I have two more of each. They should do well this year. Sucks I didn't buy more this month when marked down.

Yes, what people perceive as a bubble popping is actually a properly functioning market in which the outsize profits of the past attracted more sellers, which fostered competition, which caused prices to fall.

This trend is only going to get worse in the coming years. Speaking for myself, the capital that I have available to buy inventory has more than doubled in the last two years and it continues to grow. I suspect that the trend is the same for other mid to large scale sellers. All of that capital has to go somewhere and as long as it is flowing into Lego, that is going to equate to larger stocks of inventory up for sale at any given time.

Just in the nick (pun intended) of time, here's our Christmas train circling our tree. We only used spare pieces from last year's full setup (which is still on display in the basement) so the bridge looks a little unfinished. Train makes a big circle around the tree (straight-curve-straight-curve style).

I'm out and not looking back even if 41055 increases to $200 (which i doubt but hey, who knows). for those folks who think parents will buy this instead of the Disney Castle, maybe. maybe not. both have different audiences. plus 41055 doesn't really give you much for the retail price let alone secondary price. i built one with my daughter and she wasn't really interested in it. Just not much to it. so i decided to sell my last two 41055 sets and both sold hours w/in listing. These 2 were part of the same batch of sets (along with the same # of carriage sets- 9 left) I bought in the summer of 2014 for a holiday flip that year which didn't happen. Some folks including myself thought this would be a sure shot 2014 holiday flip (like the Dolphin Cruiser in 2013). I'm just happy the price increased about $20-$25 since mid-Oct. There was a couple week scare last month when Amazon had the set listed for $5-10 less than my recently sold sales . Regardless, i've held onto these sets long enough. while the set was easy to store, it's an an odd shape (depth and height) which made shipping MISBs a hassle.

With Halloween approaching, I built this with my 7 year old daughter. Picked up a new in sealed box along with a new Townhall about a month ago. I was hesitant to open it since it was my only copy, but what the hell. It's only money! Build was okay, quite different from the typical modulars I've built. Now I have to incorporate this to the rest of my buildings. Oh, my daughter loves the play features of this set, especially the ladder function.
