I don't see the problem with this. Toys, even at reseller prices, are some of the best deals out there. Compare them to 1) any service provided by government, 2) health care, or 3) higher education and the value per $1 is 10 x higher. If I had any kids, they'd get a $1,000 shopping trip to TRU (stacking all the appropriate rewards and coupons, obviously) each December. People waste money on all kinds of stuff (the average poverty-level household in the US spends close to $1,000 per year on lottery tickets, for example). I would not put toys, especially Lego, in that category.
