My son has more or less written off Star Wars and only likes it about "10%" (he measures everything in iPad battery life). There is a new hope, though. He circled this in the holiday catalog we received today. Say what you want about this set for AFOLs, but it appeals to kids. Might have to sell my soul to keep the force alive in this one. It could be worse, I suppose. At least he didn't ask for a prequels set.5 points

Love it! I ordered a Star Wars Black Series Hovertank Pilot for pick-up, since they were available online. Went in the store today and saw the pegs with several hanging there. I then went up front with my stuff and asked to pick-up my order. They called it in, the guy walked up front with it, no bag, no receipt, no nothing. He hands it over and comments to me, "You don't even know how hard that was to find, must be the last one in the store." I told him he had a half a dozen or so on the pegs over there. He frustratingly throws his hands up and mumbles something like, "See what happens when I take a day off?" I have no idea how that applied to the situation, but it is what it is.4 points

Toys'r'us helpdesk is quite helpful. Bought the Volvo 350 with wrong price, which got cancelled for 'not deliverable'. I waited 2 weeks till it was back in stock and complained. They asked me to buy it full price and refunded the difference. Volvo 350 cost me 126 euro, cheapest ever3 points

BWE, Klaas, Vacation Getaways and others back in stock, as well as a couple new items such as Technic Drag Racer.3 points

I volunteered to go to go to my parents house to hand out halloween candy and I brought along a treat. I finished bag 1 there and bag 2 last night back home. It's nice but unremarkable (dat ass!). I liked some of the building techniques used for the back window and some of the panels but I REALLY didn't like building the first third of the set, it was incredibly boring. It's still worth the $45 net that I paid for it and it also functions as Christine while the trick or treaters head to my hotel.3 points

Shh. We're keeping this a secret. I'm buying one SC per week from Amazon until I meet my quota, and I need it to last.3 points

Say what you will, but I'm pretty psyched about Pet Shop retiring. I have so many plans for that 12 square feet of primo floor space. It's like discovering a whole new secret room in your house. Ok, more like a secret closet. Still, I can't wait 'till the end of 2018 when I have these all sold off, have finally broken even on a 2014-15 investment, and can finally see the actual floorboards again...3 points

Reminds me of the old story of the Navy and Army guy in a latrine together... Soldier walks out without washing. Sailor says "In the Navy, they teach us to wash our hands." Soldier replies "In the Army, they teach us not to piss on our hands."3 points

It's half term here in the UK so my son and I had a SW marathon on TV whilst building this beast. Don't worry folks, it's the original!!3 points

TRU policy usually is a PM voids any other offers. So no coupons can be used and no offers like special GCs back will be had by you. Occasional YMMV tho.2 points

I didn't see these posted anywhere else. TRU events in November. Looks like the Storm trooper Sargent 5002938, with a stud shooter. I almost arm swept them last weekend at Legoland last week. But then found they had quite a bit in stock all over the park. I still have a dozen or so anyways...2 points

accidentally sold 2x RE for $125 FBM (there are a bunch parked at $129, so we will see how quick those get blown out) raised prices on the rest I have been slowly selling DC character encyclopedias for $10 shipped (cost $2.50 media mail) after I sold all the Buccaneer batmans (batmen?) for $13+2 points

@Mhd747: Thanks for the analysis. My humble conclusion, without a thorough analysis, is that the secret why Hayabusa, DeLorean and Mars Rover (even was a true lego exclusive) did so well lays in the set number. Respectively... 21101, 21103 and 21104. In general, the first sets in a new theme always do well. Cause many people receive these new themes with alot of scepsism. Then... when the theme appears to be succesful. People start to squeeze the theme like an orange and expect the same results. As a confirmation... look for example at the first wave of Friends, Super Heroes wave 1 or Mixels the first series.2 points

I believe the seals have something to do with quality control. If there happens to be a failure that happened during production they can easily use the seals to determine which boxes are effected. So production should be pretty close to the time it gets boxed. Just my 0.02.1 point

To be honest...for kids...this set should work out great. Put this stuff on some base plates, buy a used AT-AT and they can play for hours (at least I will would ) !1 point

It looks like most (but not all) City, Ninjago, Nexo Knights, Super Heroes and Star Wars sets are now on 20% off. Notable exceptions are UCS Star Wars sets, Rogue One sets... Shield Helicarrier also not discounted. Also, I also see that Ewok Village is back on the site and in stock, but at regular price(?)... Might be worth watching.1 point

TRU Netherlands: 75150 (Darth Vaders TIE Advanced vs A-Wing Starfighter) for sale at €60 but only today (still 34 minutes to until midnight) 20% extra discount, bringing it down to €48. That's 56% below (Dutch) RRP !1 point

Around 100 email notifications a week. About 10% of those (if we're lucky) who are on topic. All the others are about order status, inventory showoff, retiring speculation, packing excellence, etc etc etc Don't get me wrong guys, I read all the topics on brickpicker and enjoy doing this but there's a place for every topic. Things are really getting out of hand here, I'm so overload with emails everyday from this topic that I'll actually miss out on a deal when someone actually posts about it... That ain't how it's supposed to be isn't?1 point

My FLL team needed narrower wheels for its robot. I looked at BL first, but then, by stroke of genius, realized I could benefit from the situation and purchased 42036 - for me to build, then the team takes the wheels, and after the tournament I get them back . Nice machine, a couple of really tricky connections but otherwise a quick build.1 point
