Here's some images from the one I built on Tuesday, but then I had to build one last night too b/c A) my dad won't be building this for himself for his present and B ) I had to do the EXACT same thing I did on Tuesday night so the Cubs would win again! It worked!

Biggest moment of the series and this happens:

My son has more or less written off Star Wars and only likes it about "10%" (he measures everything in iPad battery life). There is a new hope, though. He circled this in the holiday catalog we received today. Say what you want about this set for AFOLs, but it appeals to kids. Might have to sell my soul to keep the force alive in this one. It could be worse, I suppose. At least he didn't ask for a prequels set.

Love it! I ordered a Star Wars Black Series Hovertank Pilot for pick-up, since they were available online. Went in the store today and saw the pegs with several hanging there. I then went up front with my stuff and asked to pick-up my order. They called it in, the guy walked up front with it, no bag, no receipt, no nothing. He hands it over and comments to me, "You don't even know how hard that was to find, must be the last one in the store." I told him he had a half a dozen or so on the pegs over there. He frustratingly throws his hands up and mumbles something like, "See what happens when I take a day off?" I have no idea how that applied to the situation, but it is what it is.

Toys'r'us helpdesk is quite helpful. Bought the Volvo 350 with wrong price, which got cancelled for 'not deliverable'. I waited 2 weeks till it was back in stock and complained. They asked me to buy it full price and refunded the difference. Volvo 350 cost me 126 euro, cheapest ever

I volunteered to go to go to my parents house to hand out halloween candy and I brought along a treat. I finished bag 1 there and bag 2 last night back home. It's nice but unremarkable (dat ass!). I liked some of the building techniques used for the back window and some of the panels but I REALLY didn't like building the first third of the set, it was incredibly boring. It's still worth the $45 net that I paid for it and it also functions as Christine while the trick or treaters head to my hotel.

Shh. We're keeping this a secret. I'm buying one SC per week from Amazon until I meet my quota, and I need it to last.

Say what you will, but I'm pretty psyched about Pet Shop retiring. I have so many plans for that 12 square feet of primo floor space. It's like discovering a whole new secret room in your house. Ok, more like a secret closet. Still, I can't wait 'till the end of 2018 when I have these all sold off, have finally broken even on a 2014-15 investment, and can finally see the actual floorboards again...

It's half term here in the UK so my son and I had a SW marathon on TV whilst building this beast. Don't worry folks, it's the original!!

@Mhd747: Thanks for the analysis. My humble conclusion, without a thorough analysis, is that the secret why Hayabusa, DeLorean and Mars Rover (even was a true lego exclusive) did so well lays in the set number. Respectively... 21101, 21103 and 21104. In general, the first sets in a new theme always do well. Cause many people receive these new themes with alot of scepsism. Then... when the theme appears to be succesful. People start to squeeze the theme like an orange and expect the same results. As a confirmation... look for example at the first wave of Friends, Super Heroes wave 1 or Mixels the first series.

Yeah, you pretty much answered your own question. The only way to pick a pristine box is to go pull it off the shelf yourself. I've done returns to Lego and Amazon in the past, but I find it a hassle. The thread on box condition and resale value is pretty helpful. I often go back and reread it just to feel better.

So almost all the retiring soon sets went into backorder for a while, now back to available? What, do they just keep pumping them out till orders dry up? Their tag should read RETIRING SOON ( as demand drops) or RETIRING "SOON". Now I've said soon so much the word looks weird. :/

Buying stuff from other retailers is sooooooo pre-October 2016. Everyone knows you just save your money and drop all your money on the next Tesco 3-4-2 sale (unless buying certain items that Tesco don't stock). That Argos sale is usually a bit rubbish anyway. Ain't nobody got time fo' spending more money than they need to with other retailers. Dropped perfectly after the retiring soon announcements too. I'm never spending any money ever again hahaha!

FWIW picked up an Ecto-1. 40S6 seal code (and a Wall-e 41S6 seal code). We're in week 45 now so pretty recent productions. Hoping not to hear of anything post 43 on this one

At this point does it really matter if it retires now or early next year for this set?

Kmart is simply trying to get you to spend money in their stores. They already know they are going to take a loss on out of season candy, so why not make y'all come back within 14 days? I've started to slow down my spending at SYW, they keep sending me $10 back in points coupons, but the threshold gets bigger and bigger. That's how they get you hooked. I have noticed an intresting trend however, if your getting lousy SP offers or coupons, try letting them expire or simply don't load them to your account. This seems to trigger something in their system, and you probably will get a better offer next time. (Eg, I let a $4 off $35 and a $7 off $70 expire without even clicking on the email, yesterday I got an $8.00 off $30 and a $10 back on $20 coupon) SYW is a great rewards program, but you gotta play the game so to speak. Just my thoughts, I know some of you veteran SYWers probably know this already.

If this is the new measure of how a set should do, then the Vampire and Bat set, anything with Harley Quinn and any Spider-Man set should be the best sellers around my area this year.

Disagree. That tag is click bait to get sales moving in the right direction as they are missing their targets. They didn´t warn about IR, which was on Timmy´s wish list - why should he care about SOH or PS?

Also interesting is the supposed expiration date for TRUTH, though i'm assuming it'll just get extended again like it has in the past.

I agree. I built this set a couple weeks back, and really enjoyed it. It was a fun build, with lots of different variations in the building process. It's almost two builds in one, because of the two different buildings. I liked the versatility to display it many different ways. I probably won't keep the one that I built, but I did like it a lot.
