  1. Guys, it´s going to be "Hard to find" ways to spend our sales bonuses this year! General laughter.
  2. Guys, aren't there all kinds of topics out there, where you can discuss this? This is still the Deals topic, right?
  3. Still cheaper at Brickclassifieds.com: https://www.brickclassifieds.com/products/lot-of-5-lego-first-order-general-star-wars-5004406-toys-r-us-sealed-new

  5. Probably should have checked that out before I placed my order at TRU. Ordered cancelled, bought them from Brickclassifieds
  6. And initiate another production run. Then we can send them to the main retailers directly.
  7. Lego board meeting tomorrow. Dudes, our sales are up like 400% on all retiring soone items! Great, just in time to book our Ski holidays in Switzerland. Put retiring soon or call 2 check on all items and let´s see if we can break a new record.
  8. I've 3 of these myself and stopped when I came to my senses that this one is will be a dog in post EOL performance if you've bought in at RRP. Even with your double VIP and freebie. Long-term, might be different story but the CARG gods are unsympathtic to this hymn. Blind faith in the old blue-chip UCS investment is a symptom of that classic human weakness - denial. Denial that every newly devout, hopeful-eyed gold-seeker hasn't listened to the preachings of the infallible word of the Order of Star Wars UCS and embraced this with the fervant zeal only an aspirant untempered by godforsaken returns on heavy investment in recent UCS can have, I have seen the light myself and praise be to the hallelujah of cheaper sets at better discounts that will generate the same or greater returns more rapidly in the short-to-medium term for the same offerings to those monolithic UCS boxes. Of course the guy who picked one up in Walmart for $17 earlier this year might disagree but we can't all be lottery winners.
  9. Tru has a $10 off $100 purchase promo code. It stacks on sale prices of 42041/60096. Code= 10dollars
  10. UPDATE: Full rules are here, and confusing (at one place it says it doesn't hold for BN.com purchases, in another it does): http://www.barnesandnoble.com/h/terms-and-conditions/giftcards Key takeways: 1 free eGiftcard per household, Gift Card will be sent to you on Dec 26th (AFTER CHRISTMAS).

You mean when your college-aged son makes a documentary about you for film school and you have to confess to having an attic full of those that "should have paid for your college"?
  17. Is it sad that these are way nicer than the creepy people LEGO has been producing for the seasonal sets?
  18. About a week ago Lego sent an email out for the kids club that had instructions for this little vampire build. He goes great with the tru Frankenstein from today. I didn't have all the pieces for the vampire, but it was easy to modify a little bit. https://www.lego.com/en-us/club/member/building-instructions/details/dracula-f492b1e7a15e4dd9bc6d9321ab29fd45
  19. The only retirement behaviour I like is when sets go quietly à la Villa Savoye, RE or La Ferrari. Anything with Limited time only, retiring soon or other marketing tools to attract the horde like a bull to a red rag are not good.

  21. Hello everyone. I am somewhat new to the site but have been a member for about two years. I have been going to school working on a master's degree in computer science, work full time, and have a family. I keep pretty busy and have not had time to really sit down and post comments on this website or work on Lego reviews, etc. I am in my last semester of school and the semester is winding down giving me more free time that what I was expecting with this being the last semester. I am an avid Lego fan. I have a variety of sets that make up my personal collection. The most recent sets I have purchased have been the Star Wars Rogue One waive, excluding the buildable figures. My favorite Lego line is Star Wars but I also like Lego's Marvel/DC line of Superhero sets, especially the Marvel Cinematic Universe sets. When it comes to Lego if there is a set I think I want I will try to buy it if possible. I also recently purchased two modular buildings, the Parisian Restaurant and the Bank. These are the first two modular buildings I have purchased in the modular building line. I have had a lot of success with the little I have done in terms of investing and selling in order to support Lego as a hobby. Hopefully this trend continues down the road. I hope to get more time to post on this website. I like this site and look forward to learning more about Lego investing in general.
  22. They seemed ok buying Golden Dragons
  23. As a business seller I'm pretty sure bulk of my seasonal sales (Sep-Dec) are for presents. Showing as a top rated business seller with 100% feedback, premium service and no fuss return service - IMO this has to be more attractive to potential buyers than a private seller (many with no returns policy), especially when sell UCS sets for £££. Doing between £15-£20k a year sales, I have had 3 returns in past 3 years. If you set yourself up as professional as possible good profits can be made.
  24. Tabby´s price point is 69.99, so i´d say within the next 11 years or so.

  26. Great price for building. Call me when they hit 75%.
  27. It must have been a brief price change.
  28. That is awesome, lol!!! I am not a fan of writing code but unfortunately that is what the curriculum revolves around.
  29. Sure - You can always hope (who's gonna stop you).
  30. I do not see any positive side to this 'retiring soon' tag. I have 3 Sandcrawlers. Which I thought I bought at a good discount. But now I fear the will be in my storage room for at least two years before making any significant profit. Longing back to the days when sets just silently retired overnight. IR is a set that sailed in an orderly fashion. I do not own any of those cause I waited too long. And I guess many more people missed this one. Which is an important ingredient for success.
  31. Picked up my 3 for 2 orders from Tesco. Really impressed with the packaging and boxes all month fresh. Buy with confidence!

  33. Hi All, Was at my local TRU this afternoon and they had a few Spider-Man vs. The Venom Symbiote Polybags. If you missed out, I'd be happy to pick one up at cost + $3 shipping. Will swing by TRU tomorrow if there is any interest.
  34. my plan is simple, anyone who want to undercut by pennies, i crash the listing and move on.
  35. Your Dutch Lego store prices sets in dollars?
  36. don't know if anyone is aware, in my local tru yesterday if you spent over £100 and even used the £20 online code you got given a £15 gift card to use between 18th nov 1st Dec, you can get multiple cards on multi transactions, but can only use 1 card per purchase once they become valid. You can use as many £20 codes as you like if separate transactions.

  38. I ordered 18 packs from the online Lego shop. My boys and I wanted the Buzz minifig but no luck. Hmm, I'm thinking of ordering more but it sounds as if our chances would be better if we found the Disney minifig bags in a store and tried to figure out which ones had a Buzz by feeling the packets.
  39. The scousers must have got it then
  40. You left some money on the table there - I always build it up in the center, plus a little up on the sides, to entirely fill the inside of the lid. My store has no issue with taping down a wobbly lid, as long as contents don't spill out. Typically I use plates to make a fitting lid on whatever I put inside the cup, then put the PAB lid onto that.
  41. The TFA First Order General poly is now in-stock for shipping at TRU. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=95125736&csm=971687061&csc=3837335&csa=980841141&csu=3837337
