In the end, I feel that whoever does want to take the plunge will be happy they do so. Maybe there is more... @xeeeej it doesn't matter whether it peaked or not, it's however you handle your own business and find any of the new tools, data important to you. If you find it to not be of value, then no loss to you whatsoever. You just use the site as it is now and that's it. Others may appreciate certain things that may make their life in Lego investing a little better or save them time, fees, etc. Look at YouTubeRed, people pay more than $10/month to not have ads in their videos. They say up to 5% are subscribers which leads to 100-200 million subscribers. It's not for everyone, but obviously some find it more important to get passed those ads ASAP. If 10 people chose to do it, so be it. It's not like I am hurting myself. It's my time that I chose to put into it. I hope that people will like it and find value in it. I also will look to these members for the features that they want most. If they are the ones willing to put money into it because they are serious about it, then for me, it's nice to know there is an active audience that will really use the new features developed for them.

I started my first modular build last night. So far, I'm a fan. My daughter also loved it when she came down for breakfast before school. I'll probably try to get through he rest of book 1 during the Cubs game tonight.

Bought a Pick-A-Brick wall's worth of parts yesterday. Managed to bring home over 500 parts, including 128 4x4 plates that I need for my Halloween Town and Fairground. I'm finally (after talking about it for a couple of years now), going to start building these things out.

Kmart has selected Hanes briefs and crew neck t shirts with 9$ in SYWR back in points, the points are rolling but you have to pay more than 0.01 oop I don't wear briefs, but it works on the boxers too. If you go commando, you'll have to flip them flapjacks.

In my opinion, it's about 18 months too late to start charging for premium content here. Investing in Lego has peaked, and I think you waited too long to cash in on the frenzy. I know that was (supposedly) never your goal, but trying to cash in now will probably just drive people away at a higher velocity. If you can find someone to buy the site from you while traffic is still decent, that is probably the better play. Best of luck.

I came here to look up set values (2 years ago), registered because I wanted to try my hand at reselling (1yr ago), stayed because of the atmosphere, the comraderie and of course the heads-up on good deals. Even if I were to only buy for personal use, or, name-your-deity-forbid stop buying LEGO altogether, I'd still hang around just because of the banter. Happy to see that the banter is being recognized as a raison-d'etre for this site

Just got the book today. Oh man..... One of the best visual-looking books I've gotten. I'd go so far to say it's better than the official Lego books. I only took a quick glance at it, but it has sooooo many good photos. So much information. It'll definitely keep me busy for the next couple of days. I so love it!

I like it. And don't think ANY modular should be flashy. This introduces some variety into the street layout without dominating it.

I already did and was present at the meeting when the Lego board members tried to decide which modular is going to be retired this year. The discussion something like that:

Before Assembly Square was seen I bought PR for personal build just in case they go for another out of step retirement.

You might still get them if they have a lot of stock. Let us know. Did you decide to buy them on a whim after the Assembly Square announcement? If so, it´s a marketing stroke for TLG and there will be a lot of new modular addicts chomping up the old stuff while they wait till 1st Jan.

It's a nice enough modular, but not surprisingly I'd say it's overpriced by about $30-40. It's 1.5 modulars. I really wish TLG would just stop with the advertising rhetoric when describing their recent releases. It has some cool details, but it isn't really impressive overall, in my opinion. It doesn't appear to be any type of celebration of 10 years other than it's the most expensive.

Hello LEGO fans... After months of discussion about fake, counterfeit, knockoff, illegal, garbage, and crap sets and companies, the BrickPicker administration and moderator team have decided to remove this discussion completely from the BrickPicker forums. I had hoped that people could discuss these topics in a mature manner, without promoting them, but that failed miserably. It is unfortunate that there is a small, but vocal, group of people who support these illegal products and will try to push these products at any given chance. For whatever reason, they consider these products legitimate. BrickPicker does not... THIS IS A LEGO FAN SITE and will remain so. While we approve of discussions about compatible and legitimate brands like Mega Bloks for example, any discussions about intellectual property stealing companies like Lepin or others will be removed and members might face suspension or permanent ban from this site. We are not alone in this type of topic restriction. Eurobricks implemented a similar policy and I quote (from their site)... Remember: Eurobricks is a LEGO fan site, thus we want most topics here to be LEGO related. If you find you are posting mostly non-LEGO topics then maybe you have picked the wrong site. Clone and Competitor Brands: A Clone brand or competitor brand, is a product manufactured by a legitimate company. For Example Oxford,Mega Blocks. Kreo or Character Building. These are companies that do not infringe copyrights and provide a competitor product, such as licenses and themes LEGO do not produce. It is fair to discuss, compare and share these brands and their products in the Community section of the Forum. We are all here for the love of LEGO sets and bricks and these knockoff products not only endanger the LEGO secondary markets, but the primary one as well. I did indeed, I was planning to start collecting once I bought UCS Tie and The Ghostbusters HQ. Last month I bough EV and SC but then when the Assembly Square was announced and you guys were talking about retiring sets I panicked!

With Halloween approaching, I built this with my 7 year old daughter. Picked up a new in sealed box along with a new Townhall about a month ago. I was hesitant to open it since it was my only copy, but what the hell. It's only money! Build was okay, quite different from the typical modulars I've built. Now I have to incorporate this to the rest of my buildings. Oh, my daughter loves the play features of this set, especially the ladder function.
