  1. That picture says so much. Two things BPers wish would just disappear. (Birds and Disney minifigs, btw)
  2. After coming back from a harsh 2,5 weeks in Nigeria I decided to buy myself a present....the S.H.I.E.L.D. HeliCarrier....YES! I really wanted to have this one in my collection and the double VIP + London Bus pulled my trigger. I was having doubts, or this magical vehicle OR the Sydney Opera House,,,,but due to my aviation background I decided to buy the Avengers ship!
  3. And it fits very well as a grocery store in a Modular city. So it appeals also to non-Simpsons fans.
  4. Kmart is giving $15 in points on every $15 mens fleece and outerwear. Just got $116 in points on $117 purchase.
  5. Hello LEGO fans... After months of discussion about fake, counterfeit, knockoff, illegal, garbage, and crap sets and companies, the BrickPicker administration and moderator team have decided to remove this discussion completely from the BrickPicker forums. I had hoped that people could discuss these topics in a mature manner, without promoting them, but that failed miserably. It is unfortunate that there is a small, but vocal, group of people who support these illegal products and will try to push these products at any given chance. For whatever reason, they consider these products legitimate. BrickPicker does not... THIS IS A LEGO FAN SITE and will remain so. While we approve of discussions about compatible and legitimate brands like Mega Bloks for example, any discussions about intellectual property stealing companies like Lepin or others will be removed and members might face suspension or permanent ban from this site. We are not alone in this type of topic restriction. Eurobricks implemented a similar policy and I quote (from their site)... Remember: Eurobricks is a LEGO fan site, thus we want most topics here to be LEGO related. If you find you are posting mostly non-LEGO topics then maybe you have picked the wrong site. Clone and Competitor Brands: A Clone brand or competitor brand, is a product manufactured by a legitimate company. For Example Oxford,Mega Blocks. Kreo or Character Building. These are companies that do not infringe copyrights and provide a competitor product, such as licenses and themes LEGO do not produce. It is fair to discuss, compare and share these brands and their products in the Community section of the Forum. Bootlegs, Rip-Offs and Fakes: These manufacturers copy designs and minifigures from LEGO, other companies and even fans, to produce their own infringing products which they then sell, often at knock down prices. There are hundreds of names attached to these products and varied quality between them. We will no longer accept discussion and sharing of these products on Eurobricks. Most of these "brands" are facing legal cases and we have no interest in supporting them by providing a place for their criminal products to be seen. I applaud the administration of Eurobricks for installing such a policy and I ask other major LEGO fan sites to follow suit. We are all here for the love of LEGO sets and bricks and these knockoff products not only endanger the LEGO secondary markets, but the primary one as well. On a personal note, I am sorry it took so long for me to realize that discussing these illegal products was bad for our site and LEGO fans in general. The supporters of these counterfeit and knockoff products will have to discuss them on some other site, hiding in the shadows. Thank you for your time... Ed Mack
  6. Well, I agree. Affiliate money is decreasing and costs are increasing. All your points are valid. First the update...then we can work on your points. The new update looks very slick. The Brick Classifieds will be brought directly to this site and that looks stunning. We are going to have a huge LEGO store with hundreds of retailers. We have been discussing all these options. There is a ton of data out there to be had and in order to share it, we will probably charge for it.
  7. Built the latest Star Wars advent calendar today. I only opened the minifigures I'm sure to keep. The droids are great, as is the snow Chewbacca. Some mini builds look really good, e.g. Slave I. Also, it would've been nice to get a stand for the TIE Interceptor mini build.
  8. in USA there is no event today. On Sunday there is a "build & play" event, but that's it...AFAIK, the LEGO stays behind at the store. Edit: USA does get one free build: Frankenstein "make & take" on Saturday, 10/29. Edit edit: I'm totally talking about Toys R Us.

  10. I would like to take this opportunity to suggest considering making BPer a paid member site. It seems in the time since I joined a lot has changed, perceptions of lego investors, knockoffs, rereleases, swaths of new members who have no interest in doing any serious research and just want to be spoon fed. I would also suggest it is perhaps time to give something back to the members who provide data to the site, you know the important data on what sets are not hoarded and are ripe picks. I like the idea of brickfolio, however recently I have begun using it a little and fully began to realize how valuable providing this info is if many members do. Perhaps incentivizing this in the form of exclusive membership that would grant some access to this information. I also realize how valuable this website is to myself and investors and want to acknowledge that and show my appreciation somehow perhaps monetarily, but feel the value of the data also needs to be recognized. I imagine this is not going to be a popular post but am suggesting anyway.
  11. 1 available 5:48 AM Eastern: Amazon 70814 Emmet's Construct-o-Mech $50.39.
  12. Sell them sealed bags and instructions, no box. Makes shipping easier as well. Great for a buyer who wants to build.
  13. vacation getaways 31052 $42.99 at Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01CU9WZBU/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1476558280&sr=8-3&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=lego+creator&dpPl=1&dpID=51VN%2BPY1u3L&ref=plSrch
  14. The set would look much better with the addition of 6255 at the base of the trees. To balance off against the brown.
  15. Ya it was $5200ish for dollars and the piece count was right around 22k. it was the biggest part out to date for us. Paid my son $200 for his help. Took us about 10 hours total I would say. Very proud of him!! ( proud papa moment)
  16. Not really a deal, but for any polybag fans: the a-wing pilot is now available at toysrus.de and toysrus.nl. First order general is still available as well. Limit 1 unfortunately.
  17. 19. well my son and I just finished an epic part out of 6 death stars. Put over 5k in our brick link store. Average death star part out was about $800 so not too bad. A lot of great pieces and figs.

  21. I did some Ninjago building (Tiger Widow Island/The Lighthouse Siege) and just finished 70594. The minifigures are not my cup of tea. There's two exceptions though with one being Wu (which I already had from his own dragon set) and the other being Echo Zane (without his hairpiece). The small robot Tai-D is neat, too. Also, the Lighthouse Siege is a set where the light-brick function really shines (pun intended).
  22. indeed, and that really bugs me
  23. There are no experts that I know of. Only a bunch of people working together to fight a common foe. An interesting tidbit...We already had a request from a member from the Far East with no posts asking to be let into the group. Nice try.
  24. Krennic's shuttle! we're full circle back on topic!
  25. While I understand there will be pushback on this, it was a toxic thread. Even though there was some valuable information to be gained, it was overshadowed by constant promoters of the illegal product. I have neither the time nor the inclination to constantly monitor fools who want to make up reasons why these ripoff bricks should be considered legitimate. After months of discussion and thought on this matter, we feel it is best not to give these companies free publicity, good or bad. I of all people do not want to restrict or hinder intelligent conversation, but there is a growing number of Lepin supporters that I do not want to give voice to. If you would like, Jeff and I could come up with a private group chat that only approved members will be apart of. This way, you can still share ways to combat this scourge. Let us know if this interests anyone.
  26. I´m seeing them on clearance too. Shops are either emptying their aisles before Xmas or they got word it´s done too. I fully expect them to be in the US BF/CM death row promo list. Once again, if it isn´t at least 50% off, it´s a high risk.
  27. https://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-Star-Wars-First-Order-Snowspeeder-75100 FO Snow Speeder $29.99 if you missed out on the $19.00 clearance this summer. This one will for certain be gone at the end of the year.
  28. A year ago I would have disagreed but times change and one has to adapt. A premium section of the site is certainly not a bad way of weeding out the cloneboys as they are the last to want to pay for anything.
  29. Interesting. That means it's still being produced which means it's being sold. I always assumed it would be sold until stocks ran out.
  30. For all European polybag fans: the a-wing pilot is now finally available at toysrus.de and toysrus.nl. First order general is still available as well (.de only). Limit 1 unfortunately.
  31. I'm liking the $25 gift card with $100 purchase.
  32. 1 point
Need more classic and Jim Lee X-men. Come on LEGO!
  33. Sold a green large baseplate on eBay and the everything is perfect except that she gets it and she claims it isnt the green color she is looking for. Gives me a neutral tarnishing my record. Explained to her that's the only color green Lego sells its large baseplates. Truly hate ignorant poorly informed buyers on eBay.
  34. Lego are certainly cornering the market on Beetles and Beatles.
  35. I like Benny's Spaceship too but couldn't look at any of the threads relating to it last year because it was hated and vilified by many because it didn't bring in enough profit quick enough (that's what I read into it anyway). It captured the older space theme really well and has retro written all over it.
  36. Kmart now sells Toys R Us items on their website as well, including exclusives and on sale items, but you can't redeem points on them. This is worth keeping track of because Kmart screws so much up that they are bound to mess that up at some point and we can take advantage of it. Might also work with gift card magic. Use some magic on the following deals: 60104 - Passenger Terminal - 79.99 (pickup only) 41130 - Amusement Park - 79.76 (pickup only) http://www.kmart.com/lego-friends-8482-amusement-park-roller-coaster-41130/p-004W001229678001P?plpSellerId=Kmart&prdNo=20&blockNo=20&blockType=G20 76055 - Killer Croc Sewer Smash - 65.86 http://www.kmart.com/lego-super-heroes-batman-8482-killer-croc-8482-sewer-smash/p-004W001229467001P?plpSellerId=Kmart&prdNo=44&blockNo=44&blockType=G44 Raptor Rampage - 41.16 http://www.kmart.com/lego-174-jurassic-world-raptor-rampage-75917/p-004W007458760001P?plpSellerId=Kmart&prdNo=16&blockNo=16&blockType=G16 60102 - Airport VIP Service - 39.99 http://www.kmart.com/lego-city-airport-vip-service-60102/p-004W001229444001P?plpSellerId=Kmart&prdNo=21&blockNo=21&blockType=G21 I stopped there but you can probably find some cheaper items too
  37. I just want members to realize that this will not be a "free-for-all." There will be strict rules and limitations in the thread. It is about sharing information that can help combat these criminal resellers and illegal products. The way I look at it is that you are either "for LEGO" or "for Lepin(or similar crap)." There is no "grey" area.
  38. I for one, am not ashamed to admit that unless they hit 75% off, I will not be investing in any Angry Birds sets. And even then I might be skeptical.
  39. Jeff will come up with a private forum to discuss these matters and can make it accessible to members with a certain amount of posts in order to weed out scammers and trolls. Otherwise, members would have to be approved by a mod or admin.
  40. Yes but respectfully no. The caveat is that this site is mainly about investing in Lego. Recent and not so recent events relating to fakes have a very real impact on Lego investment and should not be buried under the sand. How to spot fake pieces and minifigs, which sets have been copied, calling out fake sellers and the line TLG take on this all have their place here as much as daily deals, retirement , new release or bubble speculation, in my view.
  41. Bought a 17 lbs lot of bricks from Goodwill the other day. For some reason, they shipped FedEx overnight, so I had them right away. (Go figure, I didn't pay for that). Total price paid for the lot (with shipping) was $60. I bought it because this was in the lot: That's a yellow Train Base 6 x 28 with 3 Round Holes Each End. It has appeared in only one set - 10133 - Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) GP-38 Locomotive. The part alone has been selling for about $30 on BL lately. I haven't had time to look through the lot, but even if I just sell that one part I'm still pretty golden on 17 lbs of bricks for $30. I've got a feeling it might all be there, though. I've already spied wheels and the magnets sitting near the top of the box.
  42. I had to contact them this morning because I placed an order last night for six shirts. I don't know what they did, but they split that one transaction up into 9 different charges to my debit card, all completely random numbers; 14 cents, 37 cents, 2.04, 8.17, etc. This set off my fraud protection and five of the transactions were cancelled. This resulted in them cancelling all but one of my shirts. Problem is they were BOGO 50% off, and $20 back when you spend $20... so my total was $41 and I was getting $40 back in points. Because of their absolutely stupid method of charging I was sent one shirt for full price and no points back. I told them I wanted it corrected or I was just going to return the shirt. The response I got... "Thank you for your understanding. Sometimes products go out of stock because people from all over the country can purchase through Sears.com. Does this resolve your issue?" First off, I ordered from Kmart... and secondly, my issue had nothing to do with out of stock! I explained again that they set off fraud alerts and asked them to recharge the card with one single transaction, then got told by the same rep that "Points may take up to 24 hours to show up in your account". I hung up at that point; it's not worth the hassle.
  43. Wow! Tons of new footage in this one.
  44. Setting an automatic reject to offers below a certain amount will weed these people out.
  45. So, I ordered 3x 50ct plastic cups during the 100% office supply deal a couple weeks ago for about ~$24. I'm on the max trial, and it said I saved $105 in shipping cost. That's a bit exaggerated, I thought. Yesterday my order came, three large boxes arrived, 1000ct each. Don't know what happened there. Double checked, clearly says 50 on the invoice. Best thing was my wife has been desensitized by the constant flow of Kmart boxes. When I tried to explain it wasn't my fault, I didn't order 3000 plastic cups, she said, "oh, I thought you must've gotten a really good deal on them." That's trust =)
  46. I doubt the casual collector will care about scale. All they will see is there is a London Bus that will be a nice display to go a long with their TB or BB set and will want it.
