With Halloween approaching, I built this with my 7 year old daughter. Picked up a new in sealed box along with a new Townhall about a month ago. I was hesitant to open it since it was my only copy, but what the hell. It's only money! Build was okay, quite different from the typical modulars I've built. Now I have to incorporate this to the rest of my buildings. Oh, my daughter loves the play features of this set, especially the ladder function.10 points

I can confirm the half off. I took the last one on the shelf. Store employee said there might be more in the back...but only one per customer. They are always so darn busy over here. Edit - Now that I'm back and settled in. Big thanks to @PhilB and the brickpicker community in general. This was definitely not on my pick up list, but at half off with promo item, couldn't resist.6 points

Zero effort? Are you joking? You're basically making minimum wage for a whole two hours. And with the risk of a $350 Lego set being damaged or stolen during the transaction. Meanwhile you're deflating demand for the product by selling so low. If you can't sit on these till Christmas then you shouldn't be buying them anyway.6 points

8275 Motorized Bulldozer. I actually started this set a while back, but half way through i realised that the set was missing afew pieces, so I had to bricklink the missing parts. Advice for people who plan to build the set, pay real attention to the placement of the power functions cables, i didn't follow the instructions 100% and realised after i built the set that the PF cables get caught on some of the gears and this results in the front part not moving up correctly.4 points

Cleaning up thread. Lets get back on topic. Hopefully soon with my enhancements to BrickPicker 4.0 you will have hundreds of shops across the UK, Europe, etc to talk about where to find deals. Thousands of listings in all sorts of categories. Basically all things Lego will be at your fingertips3 points

Anyone else think we need two European threads, rather than there being constant off topic posts here? Maybe we could keep this one for daily deals and another thread for all other business. I get that moment of excitement when I see a daily deals notification, only to be brought back down to earth when it's someone posting about their order status, not looking at anyone in particular, Seth3 points

That would involve me having to leave the house. Besides, I won't be in a Walmart again until their next clearance event in February.3 points

Ok thanks. Must be one of Exciter's stores in Amish country. I haven't seen a WM scanner like that for some time now. Thought it was TRU and a possible national markdown.3 points

I'm glad there is finally another set that I really don't care about. Too many entries on the "want to buy" list already.3 points

True but when the risk is $350 if you get scammed by someone on Amazon or eBay and the reward is $20 that makes it too risky for me.3 points
-
I guess the risk of a bad transaction either by shipping or scammers needs to be taken into consideration as well...3 points

If you have a Gmail address you can add "+ anythingyouwant" to your username and it will direct all mail to this address to your regular email. I.e email sent to [email protected] will show up in my regular email account. In case anyone needs to create a new account. That's not my real email address, so hold the fan mail.2 points

I consider myself a savvy shopper, but until I got a few months into the game here on BrickPicker I was ecstatic about getting a few bucks off of MSRP, and gladly paid full price. Now that I've seen the light I'm not buying much for less than 30% off (certain exclusives and must-have items excluded, but even there I'm playing the waiting game - looking at you, Brick Bank!).2 points

I don't think the average consumer pays attention to pricing and discounts and whatnot like resellers do.2 points

Yes, good thing was that the 10% Payback was a direct discount. But I really thought they cancle that order.2 points

^ Thanks for the heads up. For $1.88 I figured it was worth the risk so I put in orders for a couple of each. Got a shipping confirmation for the Minecraft sets. Now I just have to wait 6-8 weeks to see what shows up...2 points

Did you build a bat-tank? Today I finished my Ghostbusters building. From the Ideas set I only built the Ecto 1. That's because I think about selling the minifigures as I plan on getting the Firehouse Headquarters at some point. Then, the minifigures would be redundant. The abundance of silver/metallic pieces used in the Ideas version is a nice touch. Also, no stickers to be seen! The last build was the new Ecto 1 & 2 set. On the plus side, it has functioning doors and seats for the whole Ghostbusters team. I could do without the stickers though. The new hairpieces are cool. Both Ectos are nice builds and look cool but they seem to be rather large compared to the figures. Finally, a shot with both Ectos next to each other:2 points

I ordered a bunch of Ewok Village from Amazon last week. They were all delivered on Saturday and I have never seen Amazon ship things this way before. First off, they sent them 5 at a time. They took two large boxes, left them open on one end, and taped them together to make one giant Frankenstein box. They individually bubble wrapped each box with a two inch thick layer and stacked them inside. The entire outer box was covered in tape. I mean, literally covered in tape. Every inch of it. The LEGO boxes themselves were also weird. Six out of my 20 boxes had FBA labels on them, even though all 20 were ordered directly from Amazon. This had me concerned at first but every box was in brand new, pristine condition. I'm guessing Amazon oversold these so they started pulling them from FBA sellers to fulfill orders. The weird thing is that the ones with the FBA labels were bubble wrapped just like all the rest, and all of the boxes had Amazon Prime tape to seal the bubble wrap. The FBA labels were on top of the Amazon Prime tape, which I still can't figure out. Amazon would have had to put the FBA labels on there (six different sellers), and I have no idea why they would have done that even if they grabbed inventory from other sellers to fulfill the order. Why put the label back on there after wrapping it up? Anyway, it was a weird experience but everything came in perfect condition... which doesn't entirely fit the theme of this thread, but I thought the unconventional/random packaging from Amazon was worth mentioning. I have never seen anything like it before.1 point
