The Brick Separator is among the top sellers? This thing needs to retire soon as I'm sitting on quite a lot of them.7 points

San Diego Comic Con. Not to be confused with the much less popular South Dakota Comic Con.6 points

Just thought I'd report that all 3 of the TRU Gift Cards I received from the 3rd Party fulfilling the Staples orders had $0 balances, or are invalid cards.5 points

Sold my last eighteen 10188 Death Stars FBA for $610-$628. Averaged $506 after all fees and costs. Buy in $252 per set. Was hoping for a better price prior to the 75159 reveal but a few sellers using repricers came with enough supply to last the entire year. The reveal is rumored to be SDCC and the price $499.99 USD. If that pans out these bigger sellers using repricers will cause a rapid tumble in prices once other people start dumping stock and we will likely see a $100 price drop quickly (hint don't price match them as their algorithm is set for a price drop on a 3 way or greater match so just undercut them by a few dollars if you want to move your stock). If the new set disappoints I will likely rebuy 10188 on bricklink/brickowl/brick classfieds/craigslist for a long term hold. It is a fantastic set.4 points

Good god. What on earth is happening? It seems like every day there's another tragedy. I was reading comments on another site and someone said, well, nobody likes the police. I LIKE THE POLICE! I guess if you're breaking laws, they would be an inconvenience. For the record, it is never ok to shoot police. [emoji35]4 points

Finished an incompleted Sopwith I found in CL. Bought it for $30 but it was missing a few unique pieces so after everything said and done, it's closer to $45. Really like the design. It's bigger than I thought and looks good even without a smooth plane wing. However, I understand the limited appeal and that's why it's dropping in value. Great for personal build.4 points

That actually makes a lot of sense. Of course, having an AT-AT out at the same time as a Minor Disagreement on Hoth makes sense too. Maybe they learned a lesson?3 points

Yeh I got a couple of mansions and a few mystery machines. One more machine than I ever ordered after LEGO stuck an extra one in the box for some reason. Cheers LEGO!3 points

I'm not sure I see the logic that QFin this set will bring a lot of profit. You're going to have to spend at minimum 350.00 to get this set. Lets' say there is a shortage, even if it goes up to 500, that's little money after fees to call much of a victory. Especially when you consider shipping a set like this. So, I think some of you are way too optimistic.3 points

Wasn't R2-D2 retired before new star wars film aswell? I personally wouldn't believe any rumours until lego officially say something, Chinese whispers... Also once you take out Micke/Minnie/Donald/Daisy the only minifigure that would "fit in" the Disney castle is Maleficent. Makes more sense for a series 2 disney minifigures with the Princess than keeping series 1 extended. Just my opinion2 points

In all fairness we could just rename the forum topic. How about "Really cool sh** built with bricks photos"2 points

I know and you know that's not what I meant .... I meant an AFOL creation is a true MOC for me, a TLG creation not really.2 points

I'd say anyone gambling on QFLL is expecting it to rise higher than $500 is the thing.2 points

No, don't think it would be worth the energy spent when you compare a dollar to dollar ratio against other hot toys. It's easier to make 30.00 on other sets or other products that wouldn't take up the space, or cost as much money. I'm sure there will be some toy out there that cost 60 or 70.00 that will be scarce and in demand and will net you 30 after fees. You could buy 4 to 5 of those, flip them and make 150 for ever 350 spent. That's better than 30 on every 350 spent. Just my opinion.2 points

Probably the best way to QF this at Xmas is through CL, NextDoor, and SwipSwap when the inevitable shortage happens. Start about Thanxgv and increase price each week after.2 points

Hello guys, Let me introduce myself. I'm from Vienna, Austria - yes, the other Austria where the kangaroos are only known from TV and zoo. I'm a 34 years old male who got out of his dark ages almost a year ago and now started to invest in Lego. It started all when my best friend bought some bulk Lego for his child at a flea market and discovered that the 29€ Lego contained the complete 10225 (R2-D2) and 7965 (MF). He asked me for help and wanted to know the worth of it. When I was a kid/teen was crazy for Lego and from time to time I checked the new Lego, but I thought I was too old to buy it. Nevertheless, I started to investigate about his 10225 and saw that the prices skyrocketed even for the used UCS models. I was thinking about my colleague who tried to got me into Lego investing, but I refused to buy a discounted TRU 10212 for 200€ and a 10221 Lego set. I changed my mind, and since January my closet is being filled with Lego sets. ATM I have 200+ Lego sets. Mostly Star Wars, Creator Advanced, Architecture and IDEAS. Some CASTLE, PIRATES and Harry Potter Sets too (castles & ships). No TECHNIC, FRIENDS or CITY themes at all! Ok, that's from me now - hope this is the third and last post to be unlocked for the postings! Thank you for reading this. Wish you a nice day, Kind regards, Infi1 point

Just finished building the Simpsons House tonight, thoroughly enjoyable throughout. In my opinion not quite a fun as the Kwik-E-Mart, but a set full of detail and if you are a fan of the show I'm sure you will also enjoy.1 point

Everybody was so concerned with Disney minifigures being a short run yet Lego is pumping more of those out and have stated such. I think this series will be the shorter run series...1 point

QF around here has generally meant buying a product with the intention to sell in the short term... Minutes, days, weeks. Those who take pictures and post it to eBay before even getting in their car are more often referred to as QFLLs (sometimes we will cut them some slack, but it has to be posted that evening). What you are talking about by dumping items that haven't seen a hoped-for shortage (to offer the QF opportunity) or missed a predicted retirement is entirely different. Quickly Flip once you've made a decision to sell is not the same as the Quick Flip.1 point

In all fairness - those are all LEGOLand creations - I've got a few memory-cards full of LEGOLand snaps .... not really "MOC" if it was done or sanctioned by the LEGO group themselves IMHO. Not that they are not great builds ....1 point

I have bought a number of chinese "building blocks" for myself (mostly non-copy train rolling stock) and I can assure you that the quality of the odd technic equivalent part in train sets is very poor. The tolerances on technic is critical, more than with bricks; the problems with the gear box in the lego version would be nothing compared to this knock off - so avoid completely.1 point

number crunching... So if I could buy one at $315 at Disney Springs (VIP points almost cancels out the sales tax, for each additional purchase) and sell for $450 on BrickClassified, when it's running for $500 in eBay. Even if I paid for shipping, I think I can make more than $30. And get the Lego store Freebie, Santa Bionicle maybe?1 point

A lot of toilet humor in this one. I'm almost wondering what your search criteria was for these. Ha.1 point

I really liked this set more than I would have imagined after I've built it. Only thing I really found tricky during was to get the clock right. So like you I found the best result I could achieve was putting it shortly before or after midnight.1 point

We don't have a lot of context for the beach battle yet, but I would expect the Empire would use more troops to guard and/or retrieve the Death Star plans. Doesn't look like a large scale battle from what I've seen but I'm sure the AT-ATs will be in there from the earlier trailer we saw. I thought these were quite entertaining:1 point

I'm a bigger LEGO fan than I am a Star Wars fan so most of my build have been in the Creator line. However the Star Wars UCS line does have some of the largest and most interesting builds so I knew eventually I would get there. Since I came out of my dark ages a year and a half ago, I've always thought the UCS Imperial Shuttle 10212 was one of the most accurate and interesting looking Star Wars models and wanted to get one. To that end, for the past 3 months I've been slowly bricklinking 10212, 10182, and 10189. All original parts and color in new condition except where it didn't make sense (e.g. stud hole vs no stud hole). All new condition except, again, where it didn't make sense due to price or availability. I can give more specifics if anyone is interested but in short I sourced all three for about $1,400 plus ~$40,000 in unpaid time . This week in the evenings I built 10212... In the end I was just as impressed as I thought I would be. Really enjoyed the build and the final result!1 point
