STAR WARS sets are far less risky than any Super Hero set, this side of The Tumbler. For the most part, the most valuable STAR WARS sets are based on vehicles, while successful Super Hero sets (with exception of Tumbler) are valuable because of their figures. Maybe you should build a few and you will see the difference. As for my completely incorrect logic...You think you have this all figured out, but you really have no clue. You think you are Spock, only dealing with logic and numbers. LEGO is more than logic. It is a passion and creative force unlike any Amiibo, baseball card or Beanie Baby. It's sad that I cannot teach you these things. You either get it or you don't. You can make money off of logic, but when push comes to shove, the person who "gets it" will have a distinct advantage over those who don't. This applies to any collectible or item that is resold. I have seen people like you on this forum before and you treat it as a commodity, with really no respect for the product itself. Next year, you will be on the next forum, discussing the next hot trends in collectibles, but never really appreciating the collectible being discussed. Until you accept the fact that emotion plays a huge part in the LEGO world, you will never truly understand the opinions of many on this site.14 points

Finally feel like I got a sweet deal...Got the Empire State Building for $10, which took me 10 mins to build and now joins his friends in the office. Then as we're arranging a place to meet up (did this deal via letgo) I asked if she had any other sets, so she said she had 2 more. Only one worth discussing. 4954 Creator Townhouse. Got that used/complete/no box for $40. $50 total and I am a happy camper. Can't wait to build that townhouse.7 points

Hopefully this means we'll get a Bizarro and Doomsday figure in 2017. I would hate to think that these are the only versions of those characters coming for mass release.2 points

I've got an emotion for him, but the forum censors block most of it. I gave up discussing things with him since he's only interested in his opinion. 2017 and the next fad can't come soon enough.2 points

I actually just finished building a bricklinked 10179 in Bley with some black accents. I didn't just go for bley because new bley parts are more available, I wanted to also stock up on bley to build more star ships, etc. once I take the 10179 apart. The entire inside of the ship uses wahtever bricks I had in any color. It's not as if the lego designers made the perfect pick for every bit on the real ship - so why should I. Having a good looking ship IMO is more important than having the exact parts, since I am not planning to sell or collect this. I already had about 15% of the bricks, bought another 80% new, and about 5% used parts on bricklink and the Lego store. In Europe the total cost ended up being about 900 Euros. Here is a pic: ]2 points

UCS Slave 1. I'm 41. I was all G.I Joe and Transformers when I was a kid. The funny thing is I'm going to pick up all my old toys from my parents basement this weekend and I'm going to sell them to pay for my newly acquired Lego habit. I figure there's no better time to sell that GI Joe and Transformer stuff, I know guys in their 40s will buy stuff like that, but I can't see guys in their 50s or 60s buying a bunch of old toys. I have a ton of figures and a lot of the bigger vehicles. I used all my allowance and every other penny I earned doing odd jobs on smaller vehicles and Transformers and then all I asked for for birthdays and Xmas from 6 years was the planes and bases, etc. Unfortunately my parents weren't nuts, so the aircraft carrier isn't one of them.2 points

Had 3 delivered today, sourced from an Ontario warehouse. 21S5, shipped in original Lego carton. I tried the stock trick when I ordered. They had more than 1200 in stock if the trick still works...2 points

I can't believe people are so easily manipulated. Lego deliberately makes, say, 500 of a minifigure, then says 'Look! It's rare!' and collectors say, 'Wow! You're right!' and choose the $250 minifigure over the 40" TV or whatnot. That most of the 'rare' minifigures for sale these days are Chinese fakes only compounds the tragedy...1 point

Today I managed to finish building the Grand Emporium. For the photo I placed it between 10246 and 41101 which were built in the past two weeks. Some people complain about the built being repetitious but I didn't mind that. What I did find noticeable when I opened the bags was the absence of a brick seperatator as Its regular inclusion in bigger sets is something one gets accustomed to with time. I still have a second GE to realize an extension of this modular building at some point. The parts of two GEs might not be enough though.1 point

75021 (latest republic gunship). Boy that thing is impressive! One of those sets that until I saw it in the flesh I didnt realise how good it was. Not a fan of the prequels but some of the sets from those films are epic. I can see this one continued to be rehashed every few years so probably wont hit the stratosphere and I think because its prequels some will write it off but more fool them. Just a shame it doesnt fit into my display case. Jokes on me as next on the list is 10195.1 point

You'll be surprised how easily this set breaks down, you don't have to take apart every single piece, just break it down enough so it easily fits in a pair of zip lock bags. Sell it with the box, you will make more that way than the difference in shipping one without the box.1 point
-
Put it together and take pictures of it once you replace any missing pieces. I just sold one for $250 with the box. It cost about $20 to ship.1 point

I have built this several times to flip and had to keep one for myself. Just recently got another one with almost all sealed bags1 point
