Today I finished building my Simpson Kwik-E-Mart. I know this set gets mixed reviews on here, but for me it was a really fun build, a huge amount of detail. I Personally think this will do well post retirement, and at present if you are patient when looking on eBay you can find one used, but mint at 50% RRP, as I did. Please enjoy a few photos...7 points

I apologize if there is a better place for this. However, I wanted to wish all of the fathers, grandfathers, and father-figures on bp a wonderful father's day. A number of you are on here because you are passionate about Lego and want to share this love with those that you care for, some of you do this to support your families or provide opportunities for them - thank you for all that you do! As a woman who is the Lego lover in my family, I appreciate my husband that indulges my Lego obsession:) May this day be filled with love, laughter, celebration, and of course, lots of Lego6 points

The naysayers are getting old. Makes me wonder if they actually put in the effort to sell any star wars sets, or have been playing the game at all. Almost every OT set from last year that retired has risen in value. Even Prequel sets that no one thought would do anything like the Jedi Interceptor, Droid Gunship, Battle of Saleucami, AT-AP, etc are all bouncing upwards. The poorest, most neglected OT set from last year, the B-wing was easily found for 30.00 at many points near the final period and you can easily make about 70% profit off of it right now. I guess that sucks to some. But, to me it shows that these sets still have legs. There's no doubt in my mind the entire 2015 summer and winter waves from last year will rise in value once they are gone, even the sets like Flash Speeder, and Naboo Fighter. The T-16 skyhopper came out in january 2015, and retired about a year later, and is a decent money maker, especially to those that invested in more than just a few. Some of you are just way too pessimistic and negative and not based in reality. Are you really playing the game, or just trying to act like you know what you are talking about? Because i've been watching all the star wars sets that just recently retired from last year go up in value. There are tons of lego star wars collectors out there, and it's a growing market. They also only produce so many sets per year, which means when these sets do retire, it's years before they are redone. The IST won't be done again for quite some time. So, regardless if there are 200 people on amazon with them, this is a set that will eventually hit 200.00 and make money within a year or two after EOL. At best the horde might extend the RRP of a set for a few months after EOL, but it doesn't last long, because many bow out within the first six months, and the demand is there..5 points

Finally got my quota on the Slave 1 at Toys R US. With the 20%, Gift cards, Rewards, etc, got these 2 for $77 and the other for $33, so it brings me to 32 of them, I am done with these. I would say with getting some from Lego and Toys R US with all rewards,Vip, Coupons. I would say I got them for about $100-$140, I will be getting the Tie Fighter now as 8 more will bring me to 25, but shooting for 30. It seems that the Toys R Us stores gets one case, 2 of these every month, so finding them is tough, and another thing that sucks is alot of stores whats you to bring up the empty box on the shelf so they can check to see if they have any in the back. Built 6280 Armada Flagship from a bulk buy I bought a while back. This is the first vintage set I've built in years. I forgot how bad instructions were back then. It was tough seeing what pieces needed to be added in a step as you needed to compare it to what you've built already and/or the previous step's picture. Kids these days don't know how good they got it.4 points

This is probably being frowned upon here. I flipped a 10253 Big Ben with €50 profit, get a free 40221 and VIP points. Honestly I'm just listing not expecting any interest but am pleasantly surprised.3 points

Maybe in western Europe that will be the case, but here in the US, the IST I think has already hit bottom, and from here on out, it will hover around the low 80's until it goes OOS at most retailers, which I suspect occurs around November as we near black friday. Right now the cheapest place to get them is Amazon, and even at their buy-in, you will make out nicely on these. It seems that here in the states especially, May the 4th is that period where you get the best deals on the future retirees. My spreadsheets have shown this for a few years now. After May the 4th, there is usually a moderately decent clearance event at walmarts in july, but that can be sporadic and it seemed that this year, the better clearance event happened in May of this year, although July has yet to be written, so maybe we will see Force Awakens sets that are due to be retired get phased out next. And to be honest, I have not seen any IST's at walmarts in my area since they hit 74.00 last month. In fact, walmart.com now shows it in the hands of toywiz at 139.99, and they are gone within a 50 mile radius of my area. So, I'm glad I stocked up when I did... because this set is now scarce and almost gone from my area. While I can still go into Target and TRU and pick up a handful of these at RRP or just a slight bit over, the days of getting them at 49.00 or 74.00 US is over, and I doubt we see them go that low again. It's following the same may the 4th pattern as most sets that are abound to retire. Last year it was AT-AT's, Ghost, and Cantinas that were dropped on clearance events first, and by october those sets were very scarce. As the fall months wore on ISD's, B-wings, and snowspeeders were slowly clearanced out too, but not at prices that i'd call substantial discounts. So, i'm just saying that IST's are going to be gone soon, and so will Jedi Duels, Naboo Starfighters, and even the exclusives like Battle Droid Troop Carriers, and Hailfire droids. In my area, even some force awakens sets are now getting scarce, especially the FO Transporter, which saw a big drop around May the 4th.. So, things are already progressing to the next phase, and the 2015 sets are soon to be a retired blip in the forever ongoing star wars timeline. We can argue all we want that they are going to be duds, but I doubt it. I don't buy that at all. I don't even see any of the Force Awakens sets being duds. Maybe Rogue One sets will be duds if the movie flops, but I doubt that too. I refuse to play with that bear. He's kind of proven to me that he hasn't really played the game, and is just full of hot air. That guy has "rookie" without a clue written all over him, even if he pretends he's not.3 points

I've got one 20% off coupon that I won't be using. Valid until this Friday Saturday (6/25). I can PM someone (first person wins) a color scan of the front and back of the coupon (PDF) so you can try and print the coupon at home, or I could mail the coupon today using USPS/FedEx/UPS (I'm in the midwest so theoretically it should arrive anywhere in 2-3 days) if someone pays me postage via PP (and tell me which postage method you'd like me to use).3 points

I doubt they sell them indefinitely at Disney. These have been stated as limited edition many times now. But I have no doubts, the lego factories are currently churning out tens of thousands of new cases of these, and they will be back. I think demand just outstripped supply, kind of like last years JW.2 points

Sorry, that title should be reserved for someone who actually had the ability to control the price of a set. Not just some 2 bits troll.2 points

My Dutch is poor, but doesn't it just say a new series, which is prob 16? That doesn't mean there won't be another run of Disney CMF. Disney and Lego are both good at making money and not doing another run wouldn't make sense.2 points

Humble MOC in 2010, getting good 2011, better 2012 and really awesome after that. My main problems with this building technic(technics?) is that I doubt it has got any interior, it's probably rather fragile AND (that's my biggest problem to be honest!) I'm not quite sure yet how to do it ;-) Would be nice to have a "how to guide" on the 2013 to 2015 structures to see exactly how the technics have been used. This one really got me! I love the eyes. At first I was all like "woah how did he do that curved floor?!" but after looking more closely I knew and was like "I see what you did there!" Exelent use of that technic! Everybody's all "woah that ant man macro figure is soooo cool!"... but the force is also strong with these ones! Probably also a nice way to display some of your minifigs :-) Remember the sandman? that's the hand that should have been part of a sandman set!2 points

Lots of people like to sell stolen goods on CL for "too good to be true" prices. $200 for a sealed DO and PC might just be one of them... I know, someone will buy them if you don't.. just putting it out there that people selling the more expensive LEGO sets at a discount are rarely trying to unload a bad purchase quickly by selling it at a discount.2 points

WhooHoo! Made my first sale today! A Ninjago Jay's Storm Fight and a Rattlecopter for $36.50. Hopefully he'll give me good feedback and I can get that ugly 0% off my store page. A CL guy was supposed to come by to get a TIE Adv Proto and look at my Ghost, Phantom, and IAC, but he never showed up. That $320 would've been nice.2 points

Took a couple of days and finally completed Big Ben. The finished product looks amazing with the level of detail and finished look of the model. The build on the other hand was beyond repetitive - lots of x25 steps that you repeat over and over and over again - but I guess I knew that heading into it based on the images etc... but putting the clock part together was very enjoyable. Anyway looks great on display and price point seems decent based on how cool it looks.2 points

Reading comments here makes me realise that LEGO could also mean that a generic new series of Minifigures comes out in September. I interpreted it as a new series of Disney minifigs coming out in September, capitalising on the success of their 'first' series of Disney minifigs.1 point

That works if that's how you account for your purchases. For me this would be $217 for 3 paid with 2 15%-off GCs + $17, so $187 for 3 which is $62 ea., with $52 in points which would go against my next purchase. PS: Marketplace SYW Rewards deals are in competition with BP's affiliate program ...1 point

I did not have the GC but with the $52.00 in points. and having no Poe X-wings at this point I think adding the three for this deal is pretty good. Ray1 point

A competent ceo/board could still turn them around with a total replacement of upper management and retraining of store employees as well as remodeling the stores to bring their apperence up to a reasonable standard while overhauling their logistics operation and....Nevermind, they're toast.1 point

A few recent sales on eBay (prices include shipping): Town Hall $585 Grand Emporium $328 (last one) Ant-Man $80 Haunted House $425 (sold within 30 minutes) Riddler Chase $43 ($14 buy-in) Arctic Batman $33 (paid retail at EOL so minimal profit)1 point

If TRU wants to stop shrinkage, they need to have more than two people on the floor at those stores. Way too big for a skeleton crew like that to handle... Almost every store takes your ID now when you return stuff. No matter how little or inexpensive. It is all data analytics, trying to figure out if you a serial returner - and thus a low value customer. If you remember a few years back there was some kerfuffle about Best Buy "divorcing" customers that had high return rates. Amazon has done it as well.1 point
