Took a couple of days and finally completed Big Ben. The finished product looks amazing with the level of detail and finished look of the model. The build on the other hand was beyond repetitive - lots of x25 steps that you repeat over and over and over again - but I guess I knew that heading into it based on the images etc... but putting the clock part together was very enjoyable. Anyway looks great on display and price point seems decent based on how cool it looks.

My Shopko order of 1 Poe's X-wing arrived today in a shipping box that was literally too small in length and height to fit the kit. Shopko's solution? Turn the kit diagonal, stand it up straight like you'd see on a store shelf, and with the kit literally sticking out of the top of the box by an half inch, close the flaps and put a random piece of cardboard in the gap, then tape it together. Somehow it arrived in decent shape and I'm not a box-queen so it worked I guess.

Hmm ... doorbell just rang - courier delivered my 21108 ... box was pristine, but it came delivered in a see-through plastic bag. Not good for the "hiding things from the missus" plan Luckily only my kids were witnesses

Free is always good! My daughter added an extra blue piece to hers, while my son stuck to the instructions.

Big Ben weighs approx 13 tons... No idea how much the set weighs.

They had three more minty FO Ties marked down to 34.99 each that I'll pick up (with a coupon, I hope) on my way back through Monday (I hope again...).

For us UKers TLG retirement mark usually comes earlier then across the pond. I'd say it will last until the end of this year and you'll see stock clearance off and on. Best I've seen this to date is 35% off I think (and when it was there a couple of times stock was wiped clean). Been pretty much at 20% off in the UK for all of this year so now's a good time to start buying. This set gets a lot of love from the OT fans (and even called the best of the wave in the reviews. And that's a wave that includes IST and....errr....). One playset that's pretty movie accurate and you can display it for a pretty much every scene from the end of ROTJ. So even though its a playset which tend not to rise as quickly i think it will do quite well. Great mini-fig selection; where else can you get luke, palpatine, Vader - they're not throw aways. And almost tempted to say that because its not a vehicle it might be overlooked in favor of people stocking up on IST and some of TFA ships.

I sold the beat up box tower bridge I picked up the other day for $200. Not too interesting but I did sell it on a new site (new to me) Nextdoor.com. It's a message board website for neighborhoods. It has a classified section. I don't think I will list any thousand dollar SSDs there but it might be good for small and used stuff. It's also great for getting local recommendations. It's gotten so expensive to sell online, love seeing a new local source beside craigslist. It's much more personalized than CL too so I don't expect the garbage responses I sometimes get on CL.

I've had many inquiries, thanks to everyone! The collection has been sold, and I'm working with the buyer to arrange delivery. Thanks again to everyone, that was really quick. I actually had several offers in excess of my $12,500 asking price. I didn't accept them as 1) I had been working a deal with a buyer prior to this, and 2) I felt $12,500 was the fair price which leaves enough room for the buyer to make some profit on this collection. After all, that's one of the reasons we're all here. Thanks again, now I have to start packing things up.

Bought a very good condition UCS Y wing off bricklink for £500. Slowly picking off the old Star Wars UCS sets that I missed in my dark ages. Now have three including the SSD and the Vader Tie. Eyeing up a Tantive IV now.

x25 - ugh!

Took my boy for Lego club this morning and saw the Scooby Mansion has been discounted at b/m Lego store (but still not at shop@home)...$71.98. Had a calendar coupon for 100 extra bonus points w purchase so it came home to go in the pile w/the others.

I think those were few and far between. Not unheard of, but not large stashes at that price.

I won't touch them if not below 70 euro each.

I ordered 5 of these for store pickup a week and a half ago. Never received any shipping/ order status updates. Just received a text and email notifications one day to pick up my order at the store. Got there and the order was in a brown shipping box but it was dented badly on one side. When they removed the 5 sets to verify everything was there, 2 of them were smashed like a pancake. I requested to return those 2 and get a refund. The lady starts going on about how I have to go through .com. I told her no and that they were able to return damaged items for a refund. She had to go get the manager to get it straightened out. What a PITA when workers do not know their employers' policies!

Shop at Home for Lego has the deep sea operation base base 60096 for 79.99. With VIP points, free shipping and the fountain it seems like a good deal. I have not seen this one in the brick and mortar stores around me so I opted for one to add to the vessel and sub to help complete the series. Don't know if it is worth posting about but what the hell it is early Saturday morning.

Great suggestion! My wife's been on it for a while, so I'd heard of it, she sold our old stroller with it. Taking your advice, I put up a listing saying I have a bunch of new and used sets. I've already had two responses in the first couple hours, that equals the number of non-scammer CL responses I've had in the last month and a half (neither of which actually bought anything). Thanks

Here I am. 6" incision on my neck from the radical neck dissection I had 7 weeks ago. All the lymph nodes in the left side of my neck were removed, along with about 35% of my tongue.

I ended up next in line beside them and I mentioned to the cashier that I only had 2 items, well under the limit of 12, and said it loud enough so that the other couple could hear me, while they were still sorting their stuff out. I considered that the couple might not be able to count to 12 if they had lost two hands or a lot of fingers, but that wasn't the case.

True, that one was odd though. We built it and it did not even look good. I can't remember it being a big part of the series (I have not watched all of them with my kids) and it falls apart easily.

Big Ben came in today from Lego.. For those who wondered about the box....it came in an Over sized box with no packing material.. And of course 2 dents from the fountain. Good thing my buyer isn't picky about his boxes.

Better question: where are the mods and why are they tolerating this nonsense in such an important thread?

At least it wasn't in a bag, as they are also known to do...

This is the first minifigure series I own every minifig of. Actually I thought the football (for my u.s. friends soccer ;-) ) series would be the first series I collect all minifigs of but I'm still lacking two ^.^ Most of the Disney ones aren't that appealing to me and with some I really liked I got a little bit disappointed (buzz lightyear I'm looking at you and your visor!) but I still wanted to have them all ^.^ Mickey's design is really plain, as THE disney minifigure that's been a little bit weird for me. I'm already looking forward to display them with the needed scene. Maleficent already has gotten her disney henchmen army surrounding her (I'm talking about the force awakens stormtroopers ;-) ). My favorites have been: Mr. incredible (and his hairpiece!) and Syndrome and his hairpiece! Also love ursula! Hook is nice as well. Maleficent has been a little bit disappointing but I still really like her (just as buzz). Alice has been better than I thought. And Aladdin together with Genie is a nice paring. Love stitch as well! The grinning cat is nice but odd in that shape... Ariel is nice but not ranking amongst my favorites. The rest is good but I didn't really fancy them. I guess my LEGO Star Wars collection needs mikey and donald though. Syndrome already is friends with sheldon and asking him for help building his new battledroid (showing him the plan and everything, while ursula just kind of popped into tbbt living room togheter with syndrome... maybe they have the same hairdresser who knows). What are your favorites? And which minifigs are you hoping for in a possible next series?

Apparently the healthcare industry did not read the articles about Lego being the greatest investment opportunity ever or they would gladly accept your sets as payment!

Today I finally got around to building some frames to display some of my Minifig collection! Happy with the outcome, should look sweet on the wall!!
