  1. Yes, collection is in Albuquerque, NM. I'll drive up to 500 miles on my end for delivery if needed. My treatment has been great so far. Losing much of your tongue totally sucks, but it beats the alternative. Thanks everyone for the good wishes, I'll make it through this.

  2. I've had many inquiries, thanks to everyone! The collection has been sold, and I'm working with the buyer to arrange delivery. Thanks again to everyone, that was really quick. I actually had several offers in excess of my $12,500 asking price. I didn't accept them as 1) I had been working a deal with a buyer prior to this, and 2) I felt $12,500 was the fair price which leaves enough room for the buyer to make some profit on this collection. After all, that's one of the reasons we're all here. Thanks again, now I have to start packing things up.

  3. Once again, thanks to all. I really didn't want my health to be such a big deal; we all deal with stuff like this eventually, at least if you're living right. Here I am. 6" incision on my neck from the radical neck dissection I had 7 weeks ago. All the lymph nodes in the left side of my neck were removed, along with about 35% of my tongue.

  5. I sold the beat up box tower bridge I picked up the other day for $200. Not too interesting but I did sell it on a new site (new to me) Nextdoor.com. It's a message board website for neighborhoods. It has a classified section. I don't think I will list any thousand dollar SSDs there but it might be good for small and used stuff. It's also great for getting local recommendations. It's gotten so expensive to sell online, love seeing a new local source beside craigslist. It's much more personalized than CL too so I don't expect the garbage responses I sometimes get on CL.

  13. Finally, I found the time to build a little bit today. It's Battle on Takodana with some Jedis visiting Maz while the bad guys are out of town. Thankfully, there were only two stickers in need of application and the banner is made of some kind of fabric. Also, most of the parts and bricks seem to be easily repurposed for MOCs.

  19. I agree .. the set itself is mediocre so the raptors are the only thing carrying it. I agree with newbie and $150 will be it's upper limit... maybe you get the swing of $160 on Amazon, $140 on eBay (or so) but I can't see it hitting $200.

If anyone wants to meet up Sunday just to say hello, PM me as I will be there when the gates open and thanks again @Lordoflego for the heads up on this...it's only 40 mins from my house, and should be smooth sailing on a Sunday am...I was looking at the current travel times yesterday when we were chatting and they were over an hour....NO TY!!!! Glad to be traveling Sunday am.

  27. demand for this set seems inexhaustible. sold 8 in the last 4 days for $99.99 + $4.99 shipping each FBA.. still have 9 left. how high can this go - 150-200? 1 million dollars? infinity + 1? love sets like this that are made of money but sad to see my supply dwindle down. cue newbie77's "final uptick" comment. what will this years Raptor Escape be? it's out there right now sitting on the shelves.

  28. The guy is back at it. After I said the price was $70 for the millionth time, he asked if I would take $60. Then a short time later he followed up with this gem: "I'm in [Town he lives in] By the time I drive to [Town I live in] and back I spent 40 in gas I think 50 is a fair offer Also it's been on there for a month Not many five year olds look on Craig's list for Lego sets ....." I did the math, that means he averages 8 miles per gallon if he is spending $40 on gas round trip. And the $40 is already double the original $20 he said. I told him to try Amazon or Ebay.

  31. It's been sitting semi-built for a few weeks. Built one of the expensive $74 WM clearance ones I tossed a couple finished build shots over the one and only astrophotography shot I have. Fun build and looks great on display.

  33. I'm calling it now. These will actually perform better than 90% of the other superhero sets out there. If there is a series 2, even better.

  34. I don't trust any Superheroes sets anymore. Of course there will be winners, but with the proliferation of figures being re-used in different sets and the fakes being imported by the billion, I'm steering clear of them. This is probably one of the better ones that has come around lately, though. I still need to see the movie, though, and can't really form a truly informed decision until then.

  35. I built 75112 General Grievous today. It looks so realistically true to the character. The finished model looks amazing. It works really well with the bionicle/technic style pieces versus some of the other Star Wars characters that just look awkward. But it really plays well with his roboticness. And it's so much bigger than I expected. The box really doesn't do it justice IMO. Like, I look at this huge thing on my shelf now, and size-wise, it looks like a $50 or $60 set. And it's flexability/posability is amazing as well.
