Can I switch things up and share a positive experience? True story. I sold a complete set of Disney minifigs on eBay. I listed that they were still in the original bags, but I put a small cut in them to verify contents. Shortly after I received the money on PayPal, The buyer contacts me. The lady apologizes, but she claims I gave her two stitches. She's missing buzz light year. Which made sense to me, because I had recently went over my inventory of loose minifigs and was short a stitch. I go into customer-service panic-mode because of all the stories I've read here about buyers filing a complaint and getting their money back over the smallest inconsistency in their order. I'm a new seller and my feed back was only like 24, and more than half were from buying. So I immediately apologize for giving her stitches. But then she sends me a request: if she mails me one stitch back, will I please mail her the missing buzz light year. ?? She's asking ME to trade a stitch for a buzz? The buzz I rightfully owe her. She even says she's willing to wait until I get my stitch, before I give her a buzz. Now I'm getting paranoid, she's too nice. I am of course going to give her a buzz. And I'm certainly not going to wait until I receive a stitch. But What if she never sends a stitch and just wants a buzz for free? Who doesn't want a free buzz? What can I do?!? So I tell her I'm going to give her a buzz for free, gonna send it right away. I offer to send her $2 to pay for shipping my stitch back. She refuses. Doesn't want it. She compliments my package. Kids love the set. She just wants a buzz. Long story short, I roll her buzz with a pair of Washingtons. 'Cause I know she likes the way I pack it. And I got my stitch back and a great review on eBay. Disaster obverted. There are kind, generous people in the world.6 points

Brickset released an image of what looks like a new polybag of a double decker bus...seems like it would be a perfect promo for August when the Big Ben 10253 set becomes available. Looks pretty cool!3 points

I took delivery on all this today. The boxes came while I was coaching T-Ball. You should have seen the look on my Wife's face when I walked in the door and there were three big boxes sitting there for me! I was going to start building the modulars this weekend but am now on the fence. I am going to be moving in 17 months and not sure I want to start putting my City together to only have to tear apart next year. Plus I really don't have anywhere to put it at this point. However, I did start building The UCS Tie-Fighter!3 points

I don't think it would have been asking anyone to break their neck to include Gwen Stacy with this set. It's the only crack I've got against it.3 points

What are some lots you missed out on from CL whether you offered too low or waited too long to buy? I have 3 all in the last month or so. Kicking myself. 1. UCS Advanced Tie - used complete with manual $200 - I offered $175 but it sold and I never got a response back. Should have paid his asking price. 2. Large lot with The Burrow (Ron's house), Black Pearl, a couple old 3-1 houses from 2010, police station and some other city sets. Asked $330. I offered $250, then $275, he countered with $325. Someone paid his price shortly after. 3. This one hurts. Last Sunday, Memorial Day weekend, large lot with 90 sets. No boxes but all instructions included. Asking $1200. Taj Mahal, Black Pearl, Diagon Alley, Brick Bounty, just to name a few of the sweet sets. I inquired about minifigures but when they replied back it was sold. That thing was only listed 5 hours.2 points

If you need one for personal build - by all means buy one. And I'd contact @wolvergeek - he wants one, maybe you can do a fellow BP-er a favor by picking one up for him ....2 points

You need us to tell you how to avoid that problem? Don't sell international or only use eBay's global shipping program.2 points

Saw a posting last week in the main MOCs thread of a modified Light Blue Grey Cafe Corner. I was inspired. Started off using the actual CC instructions, then sort of realized that to add in an elevator and interior I'd have to break from the guide... before long I was just freestyling the whole thing. Used original instructions to accurately build the 45º corner joints, and pulled inspiration on interior mini-builds from a number of different sets, those familiar with modulars should be able to pick them out. About 60% of the way along, I realized I was sharing a lot of parts from the Parisian Restaurant, so as I progressed into the top floor and roof I started strategically picking bricks present in that set... hoping to save a few dollars in the end. Posted in the trade forum about that already. Detailed interiors are costly on the brick front.... Total parts count for this beast is 3561! I've got these images uploaded to dropbox.... not sure how to make dropbox links show up as images in the post. If possible please advise or edit! Big thanks also to Bublible and the team working on BlueRender. Beautiful results! https://www.dropbox.com/s/fwdw3kpsjj12o0c/Cafe Corner Assembled.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/vor9r1kbyh1bsgm/Cafe Corner Ground.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/56ybd7qyqv7t1h4/Cafe Corner Ground2.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/a8xd1oo3a2mcsai/Cafe Corner Floor 1.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/nmltgcl4iuf670x/Cafe Corner Floor 2.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/bv6s7eo2v6fpkow/Cafe Corner Roof.png?dl=01 point

Still less than 10 listings on EU ebay and those priced less than double RRP are going within a day of being listed. As I said before, if people are prepared to pay this for something that will become available in the future, it bodes well for performance post retirement. We are not talking about a 200 piece Ideas set either, this is serious outlay.1 point

This makes sense. They simply don't have time to reshoot a significant percentage of the movie without moving the release date. If they move the release date then you know there is a significant problem. Like the article said, TFA had reshoots as well and that turned out just fine.1 point

This was the first set i got, I think around 86? I remember swallowing one of the pieces and my mum freaking out. The sets that got me hooked were shipwreck Island and Sabre Island. I loved the Pirate theme. Always wanted fort eldorado and black seas barracuda but there was no way my family could afford one of them. Maybe thats why i ended up playing with the real things when i grew up?!1 point

My son little Timmy really wanted this. SHAME ON YOU TRU for false selling. I've posted a few sneak preview pics of these before, but they may finally be done after several months of Bricklinking, MOD'ing, and tweaking. The Cylon Raider is pretty much a UCS size set and is massive & heavy. 2 ships from the classic Battlestar Galactica TV Series Classic Cylon Raider - 1820 pieces Viper Mark II - 325 pieces1 point
