  1. OK, this is so perfect for this thread, I'm sure you will think I'm making it up. We have received some "creative" packaging over the years. But today we received our first BrickLink order in a fruitcake box. Literally.
  2. Keep an eye on this one over the weekend. At least 5 sold over the last couple of days around $585-590. That seller increased their price. Less than 10 offered below $600 + shipping. Prime is now at $615. eBay sales are trending up, too. http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Star-Wars-Death-10188/dp/B002EEP3NO?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A33Y5VKEN2ZOAH We might have a creeper.
  3. My son started this, but I ended up building the majority of it. 70603 Raid Zeppelin. Love the look of this thing!
  4. I just pushed the latest updates for the Brickpicker Forum App. The iOS version will take a few days to get to the Apple store and allow you to update, but the Android version looks to be live already. I think it is version 5.0.13. It is a big overall update for this device. If some people who use it on Android can try it out, please let me know how it's working. I don't really have a great device to try it on. I am using the iOS version now and it looks like its working great and they may have finally fixed many of the missing link problems that it has been having.
  5. Just like an ugly puppy. There will always be someone who appreciates it.
  6. Arch NYC $41.85 (30% off) Amazon
  7. Ah, it only took 6 posts before this thread got turned into an extension of the bubble thread, that's impressive
  8. Build this over the last few days, picked it up for £300 so happy. Quicker build than I expected, but looks fantastic. Bit big though, doesn't fit on my shelf without removing the top section of the tower.
  9. more Mixels series 8, $80 ish shipped, $40ish buy in
  10. Box picture posted by just2good:
  11. The free Captain America's Motorcycle poly on $35+ purchase promo is live on S@H
  12. Price drop on Amazon 60074 - City: Demolition Bulldozer - $25.15 (37% off)
  13. Well there are solid reasons for a merger, move the headquarters to Ireland, tax inversion deals are all the rage, big tax savings, increase our buying power etc. I think the politicians are going to target it post election though, so it would have to be done soon.
  14. My son finished his 75053 The Ghost that he got for his birthday. His first major build to do by himself (he's 6). The kids are huge Rebels fans, so he loves it!
  15. I like it more than the real car. It's also funny that the box says 2016 Movie! As if real fans won't know the difference.
  16. 75094 - Star Wars Imperial Shuttle Tydirium - $80.00 (20% off)
  17. I feel like I have to PSA this... This is a big deal in lots of parts; mainly in your pants. I won't go into the trials of a good friend who discovered his colon cancer at 42. He is very close to leaving behind a wife and two young boys. Get your butt checked, people. It's 5 minutes of discomfort that might save your life. ...after school special over. Please return to your normal frivolity.
  18. It's like a 99 cents store for rich people.
  19. ...and the matching shirts.
  20. @Poly 30286 , it should but just in case
  21. Personally I'd grab a PC pre-retirement before GE on the secondary market. But it's definitely a judgment call based on instincts and reasonable arguments could be made either way.
  22. I just received two Mystery Mansions from Amazon, and their seal-codes are both 14S6. Packaged early April this year...
  23. hahahaha...love the Cybermen Beatles.
  24. Speaking of which, I'm out of 15% GCs. I need GiftCardMall to come through this week.
  25. I am seriously starting to consider buying modulars (strictly building, not investing). When I first got back into lego about 7 months ago, I decided that I did not want to build the big modulars and was set on getting only smaller creator 3 in 1 buildings for a small city scape. I should have known that would not last. Fast Forward 7 months and I have gone somewhat hog wild with some of the bigger UCS SW sets, fairground sets, and a couple retired winter village sets, bike shop, and some of the retired houses. I have put the small city scape on hold and packed up all the ones I already built. I will be moving at the end of 2017 and did not want to put time into building the smaller creator sets and putting them into a city scape at this point. Not to mention that once I got some of the bigger sets my interest in building some of these smaller sets went down. At this point I kind of regret not getting the bigger modulars right off the bat and had a little buyers remorse with some of these smaller 3 in 1 sets. Several of the sets I bought multiples of so I could build and display all the variations in a city scape (which I still might do at some point). I guess my basic question, is with many of the sets already retired, is it even worth getting into? Is Lego going to continue with this modular theme for several years? Is there a possibility that Lego might start a new line of Modulars that are bigger and closer to a 3500 -4000 piece count like some of the landmarks? I know the modulars take up some serious space, how do most of you display them? I am on the fence on what direction I want to go at this point. I really like the modulars but I also really like a couple of the landmarks like TB and BB. Not sure if I can layout the cash for all the modulars, landmarks and the sets that are still going to be released later this year, considering how much I have already spent. I should have never walked into the Lego Store!
  26. LEGO Ideas 21301 Birds $38.35 (15% off/save $6.64) http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Ideas-21301-Birds-Model/dp/B00PE12ZJO
  27. Yes but you live in the twilight zone and seem to run well behind normal times and prices. You'll be telling us about brand new $20 Deathstars before the year is through.
  28. thanks, just placed order and got one
  29. Asda direct have discounts on Scooby, Mystery Machine at £24 and Mystery Mansion at £56. Not quite as good as the last few offers, but with Asda you can buy in quantity and they’ll be shipped well packaged. They also have Raptor Rampage at £40, not stunning but I haven’t seen much in the way of discounts on this.
  30. 14S06 received today from LEGO Shop at Home
  31. watch out with jet.com they do ban resellers. so be careful and survive .. that's all i would say
  32. Nope, it's Wal-Mart. Discounts vary item by item and store by store. Keep your eye on the clearance thread, because that's the most pertinent in regards to what's being marked clearance. Walmart.com is a separate entity and they sort of do their own thing.
  33. Got my packages from Walmart today. Shame on Walmart for shipping in the garbage bags. Kudos to Canada Post for not throwing the packages around throughout its journey. All seals appear to be intact. Just a few crease and nicks here and there. On an unrelated note... found these Tsum Tsum for $1 in one Walmart today!! Other stores still selling them at $5. Needless to say, I dropped about $200 on these Tsum Tsum today X_X
  34. Did anyone notice you can pre-order these at amazon.fr? For someone reason they are using the leaked image on the page: https://www.amazon.fr/Lego-Minifigures-6138972-Série-16/dp/B01E5L3YJI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464296941&sr=8-1&keywords=serie+16 It is already the number 1 selling construction toy and it's not even out yet
  35. Maybe not heavily discounted in Europe, but US investors should be weary. Target had a massive clearance of these about 1 year ago. These were $30USD, and people loaded up. I remember seeing pictures in the daily deals thread showing people with dozens of them. I wouldn't pay retail for these in the US, despite being retired.
  36. 9525 Pre Vizla's Fighter for $60 + shipping on eBay. This was one of my first investments: a $48 buy in, back when I thought "retiring soon" actually meant "retiring soon" 2 years later, a whopping 8% return... woo!
  37. My largest complaint about this set is that it isn't nearly as impressive as the 6397 set that was released almost 25 years ago. I guess that Lego hasn't made significant strides in gas stations in that time.
  38. I think it's due to the license with the Octan corporation.</joke>
  39. With new Exosuits listed at $33, and very few "used complete" sets being offered... if you're selling and you haven't built one yet, you might as well unbox it, and build it for fun. Let it hang out on your desk for a couple weeks... pose it... have a little fun with it... then box it back up again and sell it. Your opportunity cost making it "used" vs. new is about $3.
  40. Well at least we know they don´t base it on annual hours of sunshine....
  41. Is that what you want, what you really really want ?
  42. here is a "Red Grocer" that I just finished today. Actually, it is nearly finished..I'm just waiting for a few more pieces from bricklink! http://imgur.com/nuZH34i
  43. This is the link I came here to post. I used it to bricklink a GG and it was incredibly helpful. Also has good tips in there for Cafe Corner and Market Street. I was able to bricklink mine with all new parts for $450, making the recommended substitutions in that thread (no sand green 1x8s, etc). I know someone was able to do it under $400, by spending more time carefully choosing their shops to buy from. I was also able to put together a Blue Grocer (all sand green parts swapped to sand blue) for under $300. It looks surprisingly good and is an excellent alternative if having the original color isn't absolutely required to you. If you are trying to bring the cost down, definitely go with Bricklink. While it may be easy to just try and buy it all from BnP, I'm fairly certain the cost of doing so is going to come close to just buying a used GG from eBay.
