  1. OK, this is so perfect for this thread, I'm sure you will think I'm making it up. We have received some "creative" packaging over the years. But today we received our first BrickLink order in a fruitcake box. Literally.

  2. Keep an eye on this one over the weekend. At least 5 sold over the last couple of days around $585-590. That seller increased their price. Less than 10 offered below $600 + shipping. Prime is now at $615. eBay sales are trending up, too. http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Star-Wars-Death-10188/dp/B002EEP3NO?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A33Y5VKEN2ZOAH We might have a creeper.

  4. I just pushed the latest updates for the Brickpicker Forum App. The iOS version will take a few days to get to the Apple store and allow you to update, but the Android version looks to be live already. I think it is version 5.0.13. It is a big overall update for this device. If some people who use it on Android can try it out, please let me know how it's working. I don't really have a great device to try it on. I am using the iOS version now and it looks like its working great and they may have finally fixed many of the missing link problems that it has been having.

  8. Build this over the last few days, picked it up for £300 so happy. Quicker build than I expected, but looks fantastic. Bit big though, doesn't fit on my shelf without removing the top section of the tower.

  13. Well there are solid reasons for a merger, move the headquarters to Ireland, tax inversion deals are all the rage, big tax savings, increase our buying power etc. I think the politicians are going to target it post election though, so it would have to be done soon.

  14. My son finished his 75053 The Ghost that he got for his birthday. His first major build to do by himself (he's 6). The kids are huge Rebels fans, so he loves it!

  15. I like it more than the real car. It's also funny that the box says 2016 Movie! As if real fans won't know the difference.

  17. I feel like I have to PSA this... This is a big deal in lots of parts; mainly in your pants. I won't go into the trials of a good friend who discovered his colon cancer at 42. He is very close to leaving behind a wife and two young boys. Get your butt checked, people. It's 5 minutes of discomfort that might save your life. ...after school special over. Please return to your normal frivolity.

  27. DO & BB should have at least a year of shelf life left on them. The PC - and to a lesser degree PR - are the two that nobody would be shocked to see hit EOL by the end of the summer.

  40. The x48B5 means week 48, production facility 'B' (Beijing I believe), 5 = 2015. The first number is likely the day of the week (1-7), but that code is only found on CMF bags AFAIK.

  41. So, I sell a few sets here and there to help pay for my Lego habit, not for long-term investment. I have placed a $64 IAC on my local CL at $100. UFEMA would it be OK for me to put a link (credited, of course) on my ad to show the cool features of this set? Thanks, Lane

  43. the largest lot I've personally found was just under 300 pounds. It was a standard bulk lot with some sets complete, some in pieces about 60 instruction booklets and 250 pounds of mixed bricks. Paid around $500 for it.

  44. If you don't already have all the information you are looking for, I have a little more. This is only looking at Bricklink and not Lego Pick a Brick. Brickficiency is a program that most people aren't aware of. It is a tool that can import an xml wanted list from Bricklink and calculate the lowest number of stores your list is contained in as well as cost (before shipping of course). I ran this on a parted out list for the 10185 Green Grocer including Minifigs and excluding instructions. At first I ran the tool only looking for stores in the North America. It got through 3 store combinations with no luck and 4 store combos will take HOURS to calculate. I expanded the tool to look at stores in all countries, here is what it found in 10 or so minutes before stopping the calculation. 2 Store Combo - 1 Solution Total - $1502.06 from 1 Portugal and 1 UK store 3 Store Combo - 3 Solutions Match #1 - Total $884.47 from 1 NY, USA - 1 Portugal - 1 UK (Portugal and UK are the same as in the 2 store combo) Match #2 - Total $1049.02 Match #3 - Total $1479.58 4 Store Combo - 2 Solutions Match #1 - Total $847.03 from 1 NY, USA - 1 OR, USA - 1 Portugal - 1 UK (NY, Portugal and UK are the same as in the 3 store combo) Match #2 - Total $881.01 There may be better combos if you let the tool run all day. And as many have already mentioned if you substitute out some of the more expensive parts (1x8 Sand Green) with smaller parts it could cut the cost greatly. That 1x8 in the Match #1 of 3 stores was running $3.55 each, x 50 = $177.50. The 1x2 Sand Green w/ Groove is also a larger cost at $184.24. There is nothing really to get around that part. Those two parts are making up for 42% of your cost. Seeing as you can get a used set starting around $650, finding all the exact parts isn't worth it. (BL pricing) Hope this info helps.
