So the Circus that was Star Wars has finished(filming anyway) and the long process of returning everything to its natural condition, Bird sheet'n'all, is slowly underway. What have we learned? Well, apart from sneaking over a mountain with a telescopic lens might get you arrested, or worse, have your photos deleted (thank zod for IT). Confidentiality Agreements aren't worth a Folk in rural Ireland! Mark Hamill can't pour a pint of Guinness. And well, just see the pics below.....7 points

You should get her name and complain with corporate. None of her business what you buy or do with them tbh. Or complain to higher management.5 points

Was at Toys R Us today. They had 10 out on the shelf, but they were each in a clear, plastic security case, like they use for video games and such. They also had part of a case behind the register that they let me buy as well. I felt a little bad as no-joke, the cashier lady actually told me something to the tune of this; "Y'all need to quit buying all of these. Save some for the kids. Comin' in here buyin' them and selling them on Ebay, I know what you're doing. You too old to come here and buy them for yourself." It was awkward. Made me feel dirty.4 points

It will be. A few of my WM's had them around $59 during the winter wave if I remember correctly. I passed entirely. Now those same stores have all restocked and are at retail. I can see this set going for around $40-$45, maybe lower at a few locations. It just sits and sits in my stores at retail.3 points

I'm reflecting a little tonight. Since I'm selling some Arkham Asylum's already, does this mean I'm starting to crack? Is the fable becoming real?3 points

C'mon, it's not that bad. Sure, it looks nothing like the ship from the show and the colors are all wrong and it's basically a log with weird folding wings and....Who am I kidding, it sucks. Has cool mini figs though.3 points

Similar to me. I set out to double my money but if something gets there really soon I hold (greed) and if it seems it won´t, I try to cut losses. This means occasionally selling too late but rarely too soon as few sets these days are sleepers. It also depends on what you do with the profits. if reinvesting is the aim then the time of year you sell and reinvest also has an influence in order not to get stuck with sets that never retire, but that´s when to buy, which is a whole different thread!2 points

So with the AoH set, the recently announced 75158 Frigate and this lot which includes another X Wing, which is only different by its colour. I'd say overall that the 2016 has not been a vintage year for Star Wars Lego.2 points

We needed a bridge for a section in our little city...so we built this bridge. It is basically a modified version of #4852 (Spiderman The Final Showdown), with road baseplates from #6600 (Highway Construction). It is the right length and height that we needed...Did not turn out too bad. Just not sure if I am completely satisfied with it though...2 points

I think it's the profile photo. When he launches into a "You're all wasting your time buying the small crap, they are worthless, you'll all be gone in a year. You gotta buy the big sets" post - it somehow helps to see the face that's yelling at you.1 point

I was actually thinking of Game of Thrones by the end of it, how they set up a cliffhanger and reason to come back with the way it ended. Which of course all started with Empire Strikes Back. I can nitpick all of the Star Wars films (with love) for various reasons but the issue I and I think most people have with the new one is a more fundamental problem and that is that we were fed a recycled version (basically a remake) of a movie we'd already seen. No surprise I suppose given that it was JJ (MIssion impossible and Star Trek Into Darkness) Abrams doing it. I did not wait 30+ years from Return of the Jedi for the next chapter only to be fed a story I'd already seen but with various plot points jumbled around and passed off as new, as technically beautiful as this new film was. Empire was not the same story as New Hope, and neither was Return of the Jedi despite the otherwise common element of the second Death Star. They were all very different stories, as were the prequels, but united around certain age old themes. A Death Star is not a theme. It reminds me of the South Park episode where the military approaches Hollywood directors for ideas about how to defeat aliens and Michael Bay keeps saying "explosions" until the general dismisses him saying "Explosions aren't ideas, they're just special effects". I enjoyed the prequels quite a bit and find this latest movie too small in scale and too derivative. At least with the prequels Lucas attempted to enlarge the story and show us a different point of view of the Star Wars galaxy. I didn't get that here, and that's particularly disappointing since I was really enjoying the movie due to the charisma of the new characters and the more original plot points right up until a certain planet appeared. At that moment I knew exactly what was going to happen from then on and the goodwill of the first half of the movie evaporated. I now understand why the prequels are so widely disliked. It's not because of Jar Jar, or midichlorians, or Hayden Christenssen. It's because they weren't exactly copies of the originals judging by the overdone praise many people are heaping on this recycled story as "fresh" and "original". They had better have something new up their sleeve for Episode VIII, because even the most awestruck fan of this story can only have it retold so many times before losing interest. And if their "original" idea is for Luke to say "I am your father" then I will laugh out loud in the theatre.1 point
