  8. Basically, yeah. With a €50 set that's clearanced to €20, generally means it's on it's way out and they're not really going to be able to easily find availablity of the set. If someone sees that the RRP is €50 and they're getting it for €40, they think they get a bargain. I'm happy with turning €20 in to €40 and then that €40 might become a Wall-E or Doctor Who as an example. I can give you a few examples, I bought an Ultra Agents Helicopter for €30, sold it for €55 the next week, RRP €70, or The Lego Movie Rescue Reinforcements, bought it for €30, sold it a few weeks later for €57.50, again RRP was €70. Means that I keep the cash flow ticking over, so when I find sets which I've marked as planned buys, I have more money to spend.

  21. Now hard to find listings below RRP on ebay or bricklink - I think I may have been wrong about this one and that its performance will be better than crawler or unimog despite being very hoarded as there seems to be demand.

  30. I wouldn't really call that a poll. They only looked at the original reviews at the time of release. If you visit Rotten Tomatoes now, when you can view everything in context, the prequel trilogy doesn't fare as well, even The Force Awakens takes it down. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/search/?search=star+wars Don't forget this gem.

  33. Just found and supported this new (since May 9th) submission: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/140859 It's not perfect, and I think a Lego Designer can improve on it, but it's a good start. Would love to have Donald Duck's 313 car next to the minifig!

  41. Five Thirty Eight is a website dedicated to opinion poll analysis, so I put more trust in their polling methods than say, an MTV.com poll. I'll grant you that there are some corny lines in the OT, but I challenge you to find a line from the OT that is worse than any one of the following: "Love won't save you, Padme. Only my new powers will do that." "I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere." "Now this is podracing!" "I don't care what universe you're from, that's gotta hurt!" "Yousa think yousa people ganna die?!" And, of course, my favorite: That is a fantastic actor being hamstrung by awful dialogue. Which is the PT in a nutshell: good concepts, poor execution. The opening crawl of The Phantom Menace reads like the beginning of an NPR segment: "The taxation of trade routes to outlying star systems is in dispute ... The congress of the Republic endlessly debates this alarming chain of events..." The main problem with the politics in the prequels is that it is over-explained (see also: Midochlorians). The political messages of Star Wars are better told through archetypes and allegories than exposition on an intergalatic senate floor. I am glad, however, that Lucas didn't have Padme exclaim "Now this is politicking!" Sick burn.

  43. The correct move with 20/20 hindsight, which Emazer and many others did, was to flip the Crawlers and reinvest in Town Halls,SSD´s, HH´s or 7965´s - especially if discounted. It´s interesting that some people followed a similar strategy with Town Hall of buying at double MSRP and expecting the growth curve to maintain itself and that hread has sure gone quiet so I guess they are not making money yet. If the gap between 9398 and 41999 starts to narrow, there could be a further bump for the LE, but for now it seems to have settled in at slightly above double RRP, which is what it was worth back in 2014. TH and HH have also bedded in at current prices since last year so it´s clearly a market for the very impatient or the very patient.
