  1. I know this may sound like crazy talk, but there are some people - we call them fans - who collect LEGO sets and actually build them. Some of them even have the audacity to keep their sets, and never sell anything.
  2. Clowns who don't put stuff back annoy me.
  3. I met Jaisonline and another Brickpicker member at the early opening. I yelled "reseller" when Jaisonline was checking out! My son Max waiting to go in...
  4. Sometimes, I restructure Walmart's benefits and compensation plan such that it prevents attaining a livable wage and is disproportionately unfair to women.
  5. Stopped at Wal-Mart after the games today, my son saw the lone $35 75092 - Naboo Starfighter. He said, "Can we build one of those someday?" It came home with us.
  6. You have literally just disparaged the entire LEGO secondary market in a few phrases. It's more than just a few bricks. It's a highly collectible set, just like many Comic Con and special event sets and minifigures that is worth what people are willing to pay for them. People pay $1500.00 for a single Mr. Gold. There were 5000 of those. Why is $200 for a limited edition (less than 5000 produced) STAR WARS set out of the question?
  7. ...and i sneaked up on Ed from behind while he was chatting with someone and yelled, "so which sets are CEO worthy?". true story.
  8. No surprise. People saw the Hoth display and fled home.
  9. Still waiting for this to show up at my Walmarts
  10. i would let it go. you made valid points as did other folks. it's not your money being spent on ebay, brickpicker classifieds, bricklink, etc... side note : "set filled with common bricks and a fancy box" - this can be said for many lego special / promo sets. for some folks, getting the entire "experience" has a value when purchasing something. e.g. the box, sealed bags, the manual, a poster, etc...
  11. I round up all the Walmart carts outside and bring them in. Sometimes, when I'm done there are more and I just keep repeating the process...
  12. I should be on Walmart's payroll considering how many sets I've reshelved for them.
  13. I just can't really find much that I want to buy.
  14. While at the Lego store at the register, paying for tydiriums, "cha-Ching" out of my pocket: 30602 first order stormtrooper sold for $22.50 (brickpicker next to me heard it too lol), also sold slug set (with poster & 30602) for $284 shipped and another first order stormtrooper for $31. All paid for already.
  15. Nice to meet you. I knew everyone on that line looked like a reseller. Bring the kids along as a front. LOL
  16. I'm not sure why so many are wondering when their order is going to ship. MinifiguresPlus posted the timeframe when they first made the offer.
  17. I won't judge .. But I think u made the not so correct decision . Lol
  18. the backside. In case you were wondering.
  19. Love the A-Team van that showed up mid build.
  20. A plexiglass display can make anything look good.
  21. I liked the AoH when I got to see it in person. The scale is decent and while many of us "semi pro" builders can make alot of the detail that comes with it (generators and such), its pretty cool that the iconic items all come together. As someone that owns nearly all the Hoth sets already, I picked this one up to add to the collection. Lego probably could have done all these seperate (Hoth set, Wampa, etc) and increased detail, but in person it looks good and I picked it up.
  22. Saw AoH at the store and it was a lot bigger than I expected. They offered me a damaged box one for extra 500 VIP points so I pulled the trigger on it. I don't own any Hoth sets other than the at-at from last year so I am stoked to start my collection with this.
  23. Afraid of being seen buying it? A: What is your life's most hidden secret? B: Buying Attack on Hoth on release day...
  24. Was able to get 2 Imperial Shuttles in store along with the Space Slug and the freebies. Also got to meet @BoomBoomFlash and @sunkenbrick in store as well! @Nsheppard9101, maybe next time! Our store was not as busy as I really expected it to be. Plus, as others have mentioned, Assault on Hoth looked better in person; I'm still waiting on it though.
  25. It did look better in person. Still not UCS standards, but it looks decent.
  26. Someone save him from himself! Lol remove the post
  27. They have always stated this in the fine print, but I've never seen it enforced personally. That being said, I've only ever received maybe 3 or 4 of any given promo as I think that's my risk tolerance level. Some of our fellow members have reported ordering 20+ promo qualifying orders without issue.
  28. I think the cookie is suppose to represent the cookie or biscuit she feeds Wicket. I found it interesting they didn't include him as then it would make sense.
  29. Current IST deals: Amazon: $81.98 (YMMV on sales tax) ebay: $75 (no tax) Walmart: clearance, YMMV $74 + $5.92 avg sales tax = $79.92 Kmart: I'm not nearly smart enough to figure this out LEGO Shop at Home: $80 + $6.40 avg sales tax = $86.40 -10% back in VIP points -$5-$10 minifigure -$5-$10 poster TRU: $104 - 20% - 10% (truth) =$74.88 +8% avg sales tax = $80.87 -15% discount GC = $68.74 -8% back in rewards In the end the sales pricing beats Amazon, Walmart, and eBay. TRU may be better if you do the credit card extra 10% and double rewards back on Thursday. For those like me, that don't have a TRU CC, and don't do the Kmart SYW program, the LEGO Shop at Home deal seems like a no brainer.
  30. 2 ISD. ordered yesterday from TRU, arrived this morning minty fresh in seperate boxs! Bravo TRU! Thanks @neco for the heads up
  31. I wouldn't think so. I am just a collector/builder, I just wanted to take advantage of the double VIP points.
  32. Nerds overly happy to open a crappy set. Should have sold it instead.
  33. One shuttle tydirium on line last night for $80 with double VIP points and free first order stormtrooper Today at local stores 4 tydiriums with 2 free stormtrooper polys, 2 SW posters of one kind, 2 SW posters of another kind, double VIP points and 2 slugs. I feel like I won a mini-lottery today so....
  34. I'll Bricklink one. I actually think this set is neater than the CVII Sandcrawler or Comic Con Dagobah. It would look decent with my other toys on my desk.
  35. I would not be disappointed. That is what I expect. We still should get many diverse and unique sets, but I expect DS to be something like the Golf to Volkswagen: nobody complains because the car is only receiving gradual facelifts, since that's what the customers want. If there is a permanent high demand for a certain type of set then it would be foolish not to produce it. LEGO permanently having a DS on offer would not strike me as something irrational or harmful to the brand. DS is not exactly an UCS, it is more likely a HUGE playset. Star Wars's police station.
  36. You made out with an UCS AOH set in-hand, so I'm not sure we can say that you "made out well"
  37. The trick is to buy other smaller sets on-sale, combine coupons, points and gift cards to lower them to almost 50% off, get points back. Accumulate enough points, use $10 coupon on IST (down to $90), use points down to $50, use discount gift card and $10 back on $50 coupon. Get an IST for $50 and $10 back. They have all been minty and packaged well.
  38. Got a Detectives Office from Amazon for "free" using Amazon GCs from my Visa Rewards card program. Really psyched about this one - sounds like a super cool set with the whole candy smuggling theme.
  39. Hurray! Johnny Five reaches 10,000 supporters, just in time for the closing of the next Review Round!
  40. Finally built my saved copy of the Mos Eisley Cantina. Glad I resisted the temptation to sell it lol
