  1. So, I got home from work yesterday and my son had completed the Tie Fighter for me. Got my lights out last night and put it in front of the camera.

  2. 75917 - Jurassic World: Raptor Rampage has dropped to $43.99 at KMart.com. If you use the $10 off $75 mobile coupon found from the link in the DD main post, you can get them down to $38.99 each when buying 2, plus whatever other magic you can conjure up.

  7. Good choice. Really enjoyed the build although I haven't successfully completed the game yet. The box and build were bigger than I expected. Well worth the money, I hope LEGO Shop at Home raises the limit on this set once it's been out for a while as it's certainly a set I'd want to give as a gift.

  8. Hey, I'm very new here (literally my first post) so I don't know how this forum likes Costco Canada deals, but I thought I'd post a few since I hadn't seen them before: 42043 - Mercedes Benz Arocs 3245 - $199.99 CAD ($269.99 CAD at lego.ca) - 26% discount 60052 - Lego City Cargo Train - $178.99 CAD ($229.99 CAD at lego.ca) - 22% discount 75106 - Imperial Assault Carrier - $124.99 CAD ($149.99 CAD at lego.ca) - 17% discount In total they carry 17 sets from various themes, all at a discount to lego store prices, although it appears that discounts are better on larger sets (with the exception of 31313 which is being sold at the same price as lego shop).

  15. Generate your shipment for the 10697s as case-packed items, 2 per case, so you can use the original shipping boxes. They don't waste any space and the UPS rates you'll be getting are fantastic to the point of being unreal, if you're used to doing fulfillment yourself. Send your other, non-case-packed stuff in another shipment.

  19. Was about to direct your what did I buy question to here a buyer of another set had asked me about it, I was heading to a store where I knew they still had a couple so chanced my arm on a quick flip. Does that make me a QFLL, I feel so unclean now On a related note I love The Lego Movie, I picked up Benny's Spaceships at €50, Sea Cows at €150 and Double Decker Couches at €11.50. It's the theme that keeps on giving (for me)

  20. completely agree. 2 important points here. lots of people follow the horde, when its best to avoid. the other part is equally important yet most can't help themselves and that is keeping quiet!!

  24. Sounds like a confirmation of an earlier statement I made somewhere here on this forum. Savvy buyers who price-check and shop around typically buy on Ebay, impulse buyers go to Amazon.

  26. Landed 24 nexo cycles and a dirty look from a TRU cashier.. I am thinking to myself " hey I left like 3 of them on the hooks for little Timmy". If she only knew I was buying them with a heavily discounted GC, she would have felt better about the whole thing.

  33. I am not sure if it has been discussed - I know the Target Cartwheel offer for Dimensions Movie/Chima Fun Packs was talked about - it lists the Emmett pack and the one Chima pack, but it definitely works on the Unikitty pack and the other Chima pack as well. it does NOT work on Bad Cop, and I haven't tried it on Benny. As other people have mentioned, I don't think even at this price these are investment purchases, but for self/gifts/fun - solid price.

  34. 1. Took the plunge and bough two Lego Certified Professional Tyne Bridge Sets for 665 GBP shipped to the states. 2. 9498 Saesee Tin's Jedi Starfighter NISB for personal collection for $20 off the bay with some extra bucks. 3. Also picked up a used display set 9474 Battle of Helm's deep + 9471 Urak-Hai Army combo $90 off the bay with some extra bucks. ******** 4 Additionally, I picked up a Phil and Ted's Smart Stroller on clearance and a 4Moms Breeze Playard on Amazon Warehouse Deals. Wifey and I are expecting again after an almost 9 year break. Just found out last week we are having a little girl.

  39. I will try to articulate my thoughts the best I can, which sometimes comes out differently than the words rumbling around in my head. Part of me considers everyone on here a competitor and I smirk when I see someone stock up on an item I am totally avoiding because of past experiences. I also very much appreciate when people post deals because I often buy a large amount when these rare deals pop up. What irks me about this post and the prior post is that you make incomplete statements which can possibly lead people to make some very bad choices. There are several $230 CDN $ sets available to buy which are $200 US currently. They all could be winners regardless of currency, or they could be losers because of currency. I have been having an amazing 2015/16 because of the huge drop in the CDN $ compared to the greenback. I believe the market prices are strongly driven by the US$ which could pose a significant problem if our currency rebounds to par again. It absolutely can happen, not likely anytime soon, but it is possible. So while fellow people on this forum are competitors, I only try to help newer individuals so they don't get in over their heads. Yes, only the strong survive, but if people take your advise blindly without doing any research, it could impact their lives negatively. As for currency exchange, Norbert's Gambit has been a means to convert currency for a very long time. You can do this at any brokerage and the fees are reasonable if you have a large enough account or trade a lot. There is still some small risks associated with this technique, which should be at least understood and considered. I personally used DLR and DLR.U because my brokerage charges nothing to trade those ETF's (or charged nothing the last time I did it). Anyways, I hope I didn't derail the thread, and my only hope is that people are careful and do their due diligence. Cheers,

  41. Set up the train. Had to reinforce the crane it simply wasn't heavy enough for me and the boy. We love it though... it sets up a nice border for the center of our Lego city! A necessary purchase for a city builder.
