Hello there, I would like to present my latest scenery - reconstruction of the racetrack from 1989 poster/catalog. It is not 100% the same, but most of it is. I would have to cut some street plates to have the same effect as in the posters
  2. How about some real deals for once Staples: $15 off $50 packing & shipping supplies Code: 25163
  3. Not the tumbler but close
  4. $25 off $125 purchase on eBay: CSPRING25OFF125 One time use.
  5. Even that is frowned upon around here . Welcome to the forums .
  6. If you simply finish your comment with "just sayin'" there is no reason to delete any post.
  7. Which means that next weeks delivery will have Ewok Villages and no Sandcrawlers
  8. Between a birthday this week and Easter we had a few things to build today. 41089 Little Foal 10665 Spider-Man: Spider-Car Pursuit 70736 Attack of the Morro Dragon Morro Dragon looks and builds so much better than I expected. I really liked it.
  9. If there's still an "Edit" option on the post, just edit the post and make it say "Delete". Courtesy of @dcdfan
  10. SSD available Aug 27 2011 thru Jun 3rd 2014 per brickset I think this will go out around the same time.

Let's try this again...I know that that adds are based on our own browsing history, but c'mon, the least they can do is filter out the counterfeit sets.
  15. Please read previous 100 pages of thread. Thanks
  16. Scored a sealed EV for 205 shipped Thanks!

  18. It takes some magic but I just used it on: $100 TRU GC for $85 20301 Birds $42.95 Order total: $127.95 Promo code: -$25.00 Total: $102.95 Edit: I messed up. I should have got a $100 ebay gift card and the birds set. I could have used the gift card to buy the discounted TRU card. I would have wound up spending the same amount but had an extra $15 ebay gift card left. FML.
  19. Well a 10179 rehash would be $699+. With europe and asia very weak one would assume sales of the new Death Star would be monitored prior to mass production of a $699 set.
  20. Police station. 60047 $39.99 shopko. Took 2, left 6 more...the struggle is real
  21. Meijer easter clearance was half off this morning. Olaf is long gone. I picked up a few Poe's X-wing polybags. I left a bajillion city cars (same as the Target valentine's day polybag).
  22. I'm just joining in. If 16% off a UCS Tie qualifies, WTH.
  23. I think the Daily Deals is the only thread that doesn't lead to the bubble thread, it always leads to the ethics thread.

Unfortunately I don't think USPS will do anything about Priority Mail since the delivery dates are not guaranteed. If you had paid for Priority Mail Express then you would be eligible for a refund. I can understand the frustration though because I've had many Priority Mail packages take a week for delivery when they said 2-day on the label. Customers are not happy about that if they paid extra for that shipping option.

The data from that source is already acknowledged as innacurate - 249 USD is the 42055 BWE price. The Porsche will have upwards of 2k parts - you can tell by looking at it and the only small doubt is if it will carry any PF or other goodies. My guess is that it won´t and we are looking at a premium AFOL targetted licensed set with limited release that will include some special type of manual à la Architecture series.
  26. The original UCS MF came out in 2007, to celebrate the 30th Star Wars Anniversary (Star Wars, later renamed to Star Wars: Episode IV, 1977). Next year it's 2017, which means there's reason to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars. A renewed UCS MF might be as good a way to do that as anything...
  27. Feeling stupid? I know I am. (One of my favorite Simpsons quotes.)

  30. Baked traditional polish food for easter this morning, then played the Easter bunny for the kids, had brunch with the fam with way too much food and sweets - then watched my kids build their poly's they found when doing the egg hunt, played basketball and baseball with the kids for a few hours outside, grilled lamb and duck for dinner, and overall had a nice and relaxing Easter Sunday. Life's good when you can spend time like this with the ones you love. (And it didn't hurt that I sold some LEGO while doing all this )
  31. Not sure if trolling or seriously this mis-informed.
  32. I'm inventing the "Number One Fun" it's a cross between a catheter and a diaper. Patent pending, of course. Look for it on Shark Tank...
  33. @Phil B is right. As long as the "Edit" button still exists, you can delete the text and just type in "Delete" Otherwise, it's staying. If you're that desperate to get it removed, you can ask a mod, but if you abuse that power, we will abuse you.
  34. It's my understanding Brickset is tied to LEGO's database for the set numbers and descriptions. I believe Jeff and Ed get their data from Brickset. I did a quick search and found the following information: Where does Brickset's data come from? It includes a nice PDF graphic that shows all the different places that data comes into Brickset. The answer to your question seems to again be a tie directly to LEGO Shop at Home's database.
  35. Not if you're comfortable with selling 20% below everyone else.
  36. The "deal" talk on the main thread got me curious about this, most of these sets have 200-300 resellers on Amazon NOW. Even the big ones are 150+. Isn't this concerning/slowing you guys at all on this theme?
  37. Not sure if this has been asked yet or not, but I recently got some new Minifigures from Series 15 and my wife pointed out that there were no longer any holes in the top of the heads. I know there used to be and so many articles pointed it out as a safety factor for minimizing choking. Anyone happen to know why these were eliminated?
  38. Something tells me that this guy's tenure on Amazon is going to be very short.
  39. No, I didn't modify the back yet but I'm thinking about making it into a modular at some point. What I did though was replacing all the visible gold and grey parts of the grand piano with their black counterparts. In my opinion, it looks much nicer now. I also started building another set big set. A few small models are already completed:
  40. 100% scam, I've been watching a few of these sale on the eBay UK recently at £100 or so under market value, some users have 20+ 100% feedback but when reading the feedback is completed fabricated and the user has only been in existence a few months. Obviously a big set that scammers have realised people want and will pay big money for. Regards selling on eBay, I have modified my profile settings to only allow users to bid with 5+ feedback, a credit card on file, etc. Etc. There are lots of options and well worth looking into so you don't get scammed.
  41. The previous 237 pages are probably worth a read and after that you still won't have a definitive answer to your question but you'll gather some sound advice if nothing else! [emoji6]
  42. Dimensions dr who fun pack -7.98 at game stop, gave me an additional 10% off for unspecified reasons, plus a silver centurion and gallimus trap polybags and a dimensions frisbee. Score.
  43. Mmmmmm pancakes...............
  44. Thanks Jeff, appreciate the Canadian BP style hospitality!
  45. Having bought both new and used, I'm sticking to new sets in the future. I totally understand the point on saving money and not dealing with the depreciation of opening a set, but I've found they are more work. With used sets you usually have to deal with cleaning them, making sure none of the bricks are damaged (Sets that have sat assembled for long periods of time loose some of their holding strength due to creep, bricks crack, etc), and I have found that 90% of the people who apply stickers have abysmal placement accuracy and standards. I think that the feeling of opening those fresh bags and applying stickers so they are square on the piece they sit on (and not at a 30° angle and hanging over the edge), and putting together fresh bricks is worth the extra money for my personal collection.
  46. Maybe not as much of a problem as a disappointment. I'm a collector first, and not ashamed to admit that. As a collector, I'd like to hope that my portfolio of personal sets continues to consistently grow in value. Honestly, I probably won't sell even half of what I've purchased because I value those sets like I do my art, sports Memorabilia and historical treasures. It is nice to know that I could sell them at some point if I wanted or needed to and come out ahead. If over hoarding / market saturation lead to a situation where exclusive sets don't appreciate strongly anymore, I'd probably have to reevaluate the sizeable chunk of change I throw down each month on my personal collection. As a reseller, I can probably adapt and overcome and continue to make a profit. My best gains so far haven't been from large or exclusive sets. I'm just not sure that I have the extra time to devote to doing it well, and doing it half-a** is a recipe for disaster.
  47. If I wasn't shopping for LEGO, I would be doing it to collect something else. Saving a few bucks at a time has always been standard for me.
  48. This guy has done a pretty nice job at putting a larger carbon freezing chamber together. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=121860
