Toys R Us put up on their website the different Easter catalog deals. At the bottom was a link to a 20% off a regular item coupon. I know there is the one created on the TRUTH page but for those who have issues using those coupons, this seems a way to get a legit one that they shouldn't be able to argue against. http://www.toysrus.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=2272830613 points

Not that I believe any normal retailer (TRU, BN, LEGO, Target, Wal*Mart) goes out of their way to ensure a well packaged item, but I cannot recall the last large box ($80 MSRP or greater) that I received from any of those retailers that did not show up with some damage. Part of that is carelessness of the retailer. The other part is it is very hard to package a set of UCS size and weight sufficiently that it can withstand whatever shipping abuse is handed out and arrive at the buyer in "Mint" condition. I would almost rather start with sets with some minimal shelfwear or damage simply because I can clearly disclose that and feed out the persnickety buyers in search of perfection.8 points

Wish I had that "problem". I would buy a creased-box Slave I for a 20+% discount in a heartbeat.7 points

You'd rather pay $200 for a perfect box than $160 for a box with a crease? A shredded box is one thing, but a "crease?" Especially from a B&M TRU where you can pay with deeply discounted GC, bringing the total down to $130 or $140? Heck there are even 8% discounted GC on Raise as I type this... And you passed? I think you just threw an interception my friend. Because that was a bad pass.6 points

For what it's worth, I buy retired sets all the time for more than RRP. I'm your target buyer here. You know what trumps a minty, mint box? A good sales price. If I am searching eBay for set "X" that retailed for $199, and see twenty listings at $350 with stock photos /pictures of "perfect"'boxes and one listing at $340 with a crease, guess which one I'm buying? Even better would be a dented box for $325! Why, because I'm already paying way over retail for the set to build, not to admire the pristine packaging. This isn't an action figure or a funko pop that I plan to leave in the box. Obviously I don't want a box that's beat all to crap, but for the right discount, I'm in. I buy damaged box exclusives for personal build all the time. Think about how quick the AWD get snapped up for good sets.5 points

It's always been my opinion that only the Reseller cares about the minor wear because of fear of feedback or ratings. The End User will not care. Flame on.5 points

My almost 4 year son is now completely a LEGO maniac. He constantly wants to build and is pretty darn good already. I'm only going to have so many polybags for him before we start cracking into bigger sets. This morning, before I left for work, we out together 30282 Super Secret Police Enforcer4 points

Guess we'll just have to use the coupon on page 1 of this thread. Or the PDF any responsible BPer would have made this morning when it was available. Toys_R_Us - 20% Off - One Regular-Priced Item.pdf3 points

Signage in store and series 15 rang up 2/$5 no issues. Added a ninjago airjitzu flyer that also rang up free without issue with my 20 minifigs to get to $50 purchase. This TRU also got a case of series 14 monsters for the first time since before Christmas3 points

OK, I guess we need a poll. I know there were BBT fans out there. Who watches or have kids that watch "Adventure Time"? I mean, it's ok, but again, picking something that has run it's course already.3 points

Was able to snag an open box/bag Fallingwater for $89.48 with the code plus a discounted gift card. Says it's missing 3 pieces, which I either have or can order from Lego. For my own collection, not too shabby.3 points

When Star Wars Rebels premiered, we were introduced to a brand new smuggler's freighter that had an odd shape. LEGO released the Ghost in 2014. It retired on January 1. In order to keep the demand fulfilled, they've created a microfighter featuring the pilot/owner Hera Syndulla in Micro form. In my review, I'm going to take a look at set 75127 The Ghost. REVIEW: SET DETAILS Set #: 75127 Name: The Ghost Microfighter Theme: Star Wars Parts: 104 Price: $9.99 Before we get to the build, let’s talk value. At 9.99 the price per piece works out to almost $.10 each. This is on the lower middle side of pricing for a licensed set. There is 1 minifigure. (This is standard for Microfighters.) The minifigure is Hera Syndulla. She is exactly the same as the one previously released with the larger The Ghost. BOX CONTENTS Some people may wind up picking up a set that is open box or, want to verify the box contents before beginning a build. For this set, there are 2 unnumbered baggies and an instruction book. BUILD AND EXECUTION Hera's a real Type A personality and couldn't wait for me to begin building, so she started without me. The build was interesting. I didn't really see it unfolding like it did. Hera's having fun putting it together. To be perfectly candid, the build of the mmicrofighter was more interesting than the actual System set. We're shaping the hull to the odd angles incorporated into the Ghost. The clips are probably for the "wings" I'm pretty sure that the small thrusters are for sublight speed. They'll snap onto the red bracket. According to the system version, these pods are escape pods. I don't know that they aren't airlocks. Time to build more angles into the Ghost. Another red bracket goes onto the front. (note: I missed adding 2 1x2 light bluish grey plates here. I wound up adding them later.) There's a clear dome for the front of the ghost. Time to add the rear "wings" and the larger engines. Hera is very good at all of this. The front wings are next. I'm not sure that the "windshield" is facing the correct way. I'm not super happy about the stud shooter here. I guess it's something to deal with until they come up with a new way to fling pieces across a room. Voila, Hera has finished her work and it's ready to fly. REACTION I actually really do like the look of this ship. The simplified design and cuter proportions make this look like a go-kart or one of those coin operated rides in front of the grocery stores. It was funner to build than the larger system version. I'll probably try to keep it out of the hands of my little girls so it doesn't get smashed. On the other hand, it might save my 75053 from their destructive hands. Hera is the same as the one in the 75053 The Ghost. She's got a 2 sided head. FINAL THOUGHTS As long as Rebels is on the TV, the Ghost will be featured. The System version was expensive for younger kids. It's also retired now. I think that parents of kids who like Star Wars Rebels will be looking for the cheaper alternative. Even if this set triples in value, it still has an important character and will continue to be cheaper than the now retired 75053. I see this one increasing in value and being in demand, moreso than any of the rest of this wave. EXTRA PIECES There are 7 pieces extra. 3 of them are the extra studs for the stud shooter. Car is cool, but how many people outside of vintage race car enthusiasts are really going to know what it is? When I was reading through this on mobile, I hadn't a clue what a Caterham 7 was. Adventure Time is not getting my dollars either. My son watched it for a little bit a couple years ago, but hasn't in some time now. Lego needs to wake TF up. 2 more Lord of the Rings submissions made 10k. Lego, AFOL's love LotR and will buy big D2C sets from it. I'm not even close to the biggest LotR fan out there, but I'd love to have Rivendell, or Minas Tirith, or Edoras, etc. We got none of that except for that poor Council of Elrond set.2 points

I found a gorgeous Slave I on the shelf this morning at local TRU, used the 20% coupon and paid with discounted gift cards (that were obtained for a total of 25% discount from eBay deals, etc.) to get total down to $127, without using any rewards or other discounts. Also came with a free Ninjago flyer. Happy Friday to me.2 points

The brick-built Indominus and the already failed brick built T-Rex seemed like no brainers to me... Especially if it has adult display value! They don't even need to slap on the JP license, just a generic high quality Dinosaur. Ah well.2 points

I'm on the opposite side. I love this set. I also believe it will do well, a Non-Lego maze alone will attract customers, (I've seen there are that kind of products selling in stores). This one has a plus, it's Lego! You can actually build your own maze. The only thing that could make it a bad investment is that TLG might over produce it and it gets over hoarded.2 points

I expect 10240 will be £900+ by christmas, so anyone who doesn't have any yet should buy up any that are £500 or below. I will be kind and put mine up for £450, i know i will be looseing out in the long run but my reward is helping others. This is all based on fact, that i may or may not have made up.2 points

Angrily shaking my fist seems to be about the right level of response. Had to content myself with a couple Kmart Mystery Machines for $24 each with Mystery Shop Your Way Rebate of either $20 or $30 in SYW rewards. (It was showing $20, but also that a $10 bonus reward would apply). Bought with discounted gift cards, of course.2 points

Anyone still a believer in this theme? Can it make a late modest growth surge like Toy Story sets? Regardless of current overall appreciation, MF is still my favorite Lego theme introduced in 2010s. The sets are just fun to build with the kids and then display.2 points

Used the eBay code with 2 minutes left to score 2 X Ideas Dr. Who 21304 sets for $84 out the door. 35% off if I count the tax savings, 30% off straight retail otherwise. I don't have any yet, so I can't complain.2 points
