  1. So I sold a red 5 at cost to a fellow collector in my area as he missed out on it. I was sad as I only had 2. Today it totally paid off. He found and picked up a monster haunted house for me new in box for 325. Side note- I really love the haunted house and wanted it for my own collection. I wanted to buy it when it came out but was afraid to tell my husband I was spending so much on toys he likes them too now!!!

I hate when long time members change their screen name. It's like "who the heck is this person with 1000 or more posts that I've never heard of."

Yes, some Seasonal or Holiday sets sell quick and don't come back. This set is not seasonal or holiday. It'll be like the birthday cake topper, which will sell out from time to time, then return.
  10. Pfff amateurs...... I collect them out of the dumpsters when they decide to throw them out

Surely, this is has been posted before. Maybe even by me...
  12. My TRU had 20% off on all Technic, City and Super Heroes sets. I was surprised they had two AROCS trucks in store so I grabbed one. I think 183 $ isn't bad for this nice truck :-)
  13. These are going to be so easy to smoosh, I can write 1/2 the guide just by looking at picture above
  14. You are correct. This is not a deal...

  16. Had to share this deal. Bought a open box, but all sealed bags inside, 10211 Grand Emporium for $280 CDN today. Pretty good IMO.

Oh I have to disagree. I load up on Chima at 95% off. At a mere 90% discount, I leave it on the shelves, obviously, but at 95% I'll rent a U-Haul and clear out the store. Once the price of oil recovers a bit, melt value alone justifies ABS plastic bits at 95% off MSRP...
  23. I built the Simpsons House and as the final touch I modified the figures a bit to match regular minifigures. The house is huge and seems well worth the price for what you get. There's some really nice builds that I can see myself incorporating elsewhere, e.g. the TV set or the mailbox, but the color scheme of the interior decoration is a little too over the top to use elsewhere. Due to its suburban architecture the SH doesn't fit in very well with the regular modulars so I'll probably tear it apart for parts again as tan is always useful. Also, I finished the build of the Starlight Inn. There's some nice printed elements including printed windows. Spark (the little dragon) is really cute and the red parts of its body are in transparent red which looks cool. The build is very straightforward though i cannot remember seeing the use of a panel as bedding box before.

  27. Just remember that for these figures that are listed, we are looking for static clean shots to be used in the info part of the book, they do not need to be glamour shots. If you want to take some fun shots with these figures great, but we are looking for simple shots like this as well, usually from a few angles.
  28. Found one at a TRU today. Shelf tag as well. Looking forward to coupons, rewards, TRUTH, and discounted GCs. Found one at a TRU today. Shelf tag as well. Looking forward to coupons, rewards, TRUTH, and discounted GCs.

Retires? No, definitely not. Out of stock after a week? Sure. Like the birthday cake topper, I'm sure it will bounce in and out of stock for a year. This is still available online in the US. I'm waiting for double VIP tonight to pull the trigger on some more.
  31. While behind the scenes I'm sending those to couple different BPers for original cost plus shipping.
  32. I know right? Based on your usual findings, CMF 10 should not show up until 2017. Forget bee girl, you might find a Mr. Gold
  33. We are all interested in the babysitter
  34. That was what i was trying to explain, i dont believe in this "banning" It seems that they simply cancel certain orders
  35. I'm loving reading up on this theme... really appreciate the thoughtful comparisons and predictions presented here. I've yet to really start investing in this theme, and I'm trying to decide where to put my money. Based on what I read here (and see on Amazon and eBay), naturally I have to lean towards 21113 The Cave and 21114 The Farm. I like 21118 The Mine, just because it's the flagship of the first series... but I'm not so sure I want to invest in it at less than 50% off. Many have picked these up at $69 Walmart clearance, and that's probably a safe buy, but I'm not so sure that you wouldn't make more money on that $69 if you bought 4 copies of 21113 instead. It's a tough call. The Cave has been an Amazon top seller forever. In fact, the only thing that makes me nervous about investing in it is that it is so popular... there are so many sets out there already... I'm sure big resellers have stocked up thousands. Aside from being the cheapest (currently around $17), I was surprised to discover today that it also has the lowest cost per brick. $17 / 249 pcs = $0.068 per brick - cheaper than 21116 The Crafting Box (even at current sale prices of $41 / 518 pcs = $0.079 per brick). In fact - if you can live without a Mooshroom, a Skeleton, and a few other special pieces - Buying 2 copies of 21113 will cost you $34, and give you nearly the same piece count as the $41 Crafting Box. So it's easy to see why The Cave is doing so well. It's harder for me to understand why 21114 The Farm is so popular, and also why 21115 The First Night tends to be a slower seller of the theme. I like The First Night. It has a complete "house" which I think looks great in Lego... so much better than the typical "vignette" designs (a "wall" with figures to pose in front of it). Is it all about the minifigures?
  36. Could these be the leaked images we've all be waiting for?! Of course I jest, this is the new SW display at Legoland Windsor. Just a casual 650,000 bricks for this display. Well someone did hope/speculate for the new one to have power functions

I had a party recently and I guess some kids messed with my ISD as a few loose pieces were sitting around it afterwards. I took it down and rebuilt it (not much fell off to be honest) and wanted to share this picture to show others the sheer size of this set. It’s MASSIVE and I love it because of that. Others have complained that it’s too fragile but I haven’t had many issues with it. It’s a set made for display and that’s where it shines. I’ve owned a UCS Falcon and I prefer this set over it. Crazy talk, I know, but it’s very impressive in person.

I've added several new features to my Google Drive spreadsheet for tracking inventory and sales. 1. Supplies. Enter the type of box needed for each item. Enter your beginning box inventory, and then any subsequent supply purchases. The spreadsheet will then track how many are used and how many you need. Never accidentally run out of boxes again! 2. CAGR calculations. By item and overall. 3. Quick Item lookup. Enter the set # for details on how many you have in inventory/sold/profit, etc. 4. Goals vs. actual sales/income. 5. Breakdown of Amazon vs. ebay sales. 6. Piece count. Let me know if you have questions/suggestions for the next version! Enjoy! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NCmgY9nNxF8bjzuMthZArR5JmySAaJtFbr7fAgI2egU/edit?usp=sharing
