as a side note (which I post first in case you decide not to read my entire post) Ed, If I am so lucky I'll be happy to provide you a label using my fedex account number to send it so it doesn't cost you out of your pocket. And actually I'll do you one better (regardless if I win or not): If you package the products, weigh them, measure the boxes and send me all the info including the winners name and address info I will provide you with labels from Fed-Ex and pay for all the shipping. The only thing I would ask you is to take the money you would have spent on shipping (which I can provide via my account) and give the school an additional check for this amount (if thats cool with you since you would be spending them money anyway, it will be on my company's account so it is an extra tax write off and what the hell, I had a good year last year and I'm not going to take it with me when I go so may as well spend a little more while I'm at it). I don't think I have ever posted but I have enjoyed the site more than you know although I probably could have made a few extra mortgage payments with out it! I'm all for a cause and normally get a lot of requests during the year but I will say that the raffle got me going and on top of it I used to work for a software company years ago that catered to private schools for administrative software and while I never had the pleasure one of my (still) good friends did some work at St. Pauls and always had great things to say. I know fundraising is tough for schools and it is such a shame because at the end of the day it is where it all comes together for children and they need the support. So here is to you for the effort and here is to my hope of getting some Star Wars and some mystery bundles...... 49 tickets in and hoping for some fun to go with it!

You are very generous and I will take you up on your offer. I am humbled by the response from members. I know there are a lot of great LEGO sets in the raffle, but there is more going on here than LEGO sets. The LEGO community as a whole is a special bunch. People might scoff at our hobby...laugh at our passion, but this is a community that has shown that it does care and is filled with articulate and generous people. I am very proud to be a part of this event and I am praying that it will be enough to keep the school open. My gut tells me it will...Thanks everyone...Keep it coming. .

After digging for an hour I found another prepaid card and I am now trying for the Friends raffle (I already have some in R2D2 and S10 CMFs). If I didn't promise the wifey to cut back spending I would have tossed in more (don't want her looking at the credit cards haha) - my mom and her whole side of the family are all teachers/professors and I really support good schools and learning like many of the other BP dads and moms. I think we should be able to get to $40k. Come on BPers, sell those fire bikes and buy some tickets

Having bought and sold many of the tumbler figures, they are most definitely not fakes. Nor is it likely that there's one or two people buying up hundreds of every set with rare minifigs, taking the figs and then returning the rest of the set. My theory is there are excess figures produced in Mexico by Lego (either legitimately or illegitimately) which find their way to a handful of reputable sellers in the US.

I got one for my birthday 2 weeks ago and finished it within a week. It was a very nice build and is an absolute eye catcher if put on display despite the fact it's not coming with the UCS badge. I might buy a couple as an investment in the following months.

I would go to the USPS website customer service and try contacting them with the tracking number: https://www.usps.com/help/welcome.htm I've gone this route before when a package was "stuck" somewhere in the system past the delivery date and they've made an inquiry which magically got the tracking moving again. I doubt this method is very full-proof but it's worth a shot as your first step.

This was more likely a scam than someone actually selling those two sets for that price. Don't you think?

Been lurking on this forum for a while, now happy to contribute. With my own kids in struggling Catholic schools, I can 100% relate to how much of an impact a quality school makes in the lives of our children. Hope to see this fundraiser continue to grow!

Sounded like a dream job until I googled "legoland master builder salary": $37500 for a master builder? How would you even afford LEGOs for personal use on that salary? ...Think I'll keep it as a hobby.

right - nobody was hoarding the Delorean which was discounted 20% for the majority of its life from all retailers, unlike the ecto-1 which has never been discounted other than jet.com fiasco. stay away from ecto-1 - its a total loser... the idea that ANY lego set is not being hoarded is amusing.

I'm bullish on the EV. It's packed with minifigs (with many exclusive to the set) and it's a cool set IMO. It has many neat little features like traps, hidden compartments and stuff like that. Furthermore, I've seen it in many a UCS fan's displays. Hate the little furballs at your own peril. that's my .2

There's a whole thread dedicated to the hike. The good news: I've sold a few "lots of 10 polybags" which happen to always weigh just under 1lbs. Previously the First Class Package cutoff was at 13oz, so I had to pay ~$5-$6 to ship. Now the cutoff has been moved to 15.999 oz (i.e. just under 1lbs) and I only pay $3.65 for the same shipment. So I save $2 per package, which helps my case since I offer free shipping.

Found a Slave 1 at TRU today...after TRUTH and $40 rewards, $151 and change out the door. Left the other for karma's sake.

Ok, I am in and I will double my donation if I win something. And for people that have commented that he/she can't support a religious organization, then simply send Ed money on Paypal as a site contribution and he can choose to donate the equivalent of his own money to his cause instead of using it on the site. It's similar to selling an item on ebay for someone else to simply resell.

I just got back to your site today having moved from Holland to Canada, and adding a new set to my brickfolio (I like it a lot!). What a great way to come back, with a raffle! I donated a little something to help a litlle bit. And just my thoughts for someone who might not be inclined to help a religious school: I grew up as a RC kid. Went to RC schools. As a 30 something I renounced my RC-ism for reasons all my own. I respect anyone in their religion, I just don't believe the church is my thing. But I _am_ a humanist. I went on to send my kid to RC schools. Why? Because the RC schools I was involved are most open to any other religion in my humble opinion, I was thaught about all the other religions and a-theism in RC schools in quite an open fashion. The last RC school my kid was at was an open supporter of the in-school LGBT organisation. What is important here is to support a good school through the efforts of the wonderful admins of this great site. It's not about hate in this world, it's about a little help here and there. Hopefully as humans, through things like this we'll get there* in the end.... *) fill in your personal choice of "heaven/paradise/........ " on earth in the here and now

Education comes in many forms, would you say a mechanic is uneducated, a finish carpenter, a plumber, a shipswright, what about a programmer who never went to University, I know several. Uneducated is term I hope will go out of style, and just because I have studied Jackson's Classical Electrodynamics, and Rudin's Real and Complex analysis does not mean I consider my ship carpenter friends uneducated. They have learned how to do many things I can't, just as I have specialized in other things. These master builders can do things I and probably many here can not, and deserve to be paid accordingly.

The hype around this set is beginning to explode as this set resonates with the disabled community. As the parent of 2 little girls in wheelchairs, I'm seeing discussion of this set throughout all the facebook pages my wife is frequenting - she is asking me when it comes out. To add to what was previously mentioned: Via Brick Fan: 2016 SW Advent Calendar: According to PromoBricks, there will be 10 minifigures in the set including a chrome C-3PO, a white Chewbacca, and a Stormtrooper snowman. For the mini-builds, you see some of the usual vehicles like Boba Fett’s Slave I, a TIE Advanced, an A-Wing, the Blockade Runner, and a Republic Attack Cruiser. We’ve already seen some of these builds in previous advent calendars so we’ll see how LEGO has updated them for this year.

I agree, @exciter1. I definitely have my eyes on that Darth Vader vs A-Wing set now that I've seen the picture of it! The "Encounter at Jakku" set with the Luggabeast looks really odd though. It's amazing really. Each small step gives us a chance to keep the school open. The LEGO community has really come through...

I think the reason we see so many listings on ebay right now is because Lego rushed its retirement for whatever reason (probably license/new movie related) and there were many left in the wild. The wild stock just hasn't had a chance to dry up yet. This seems to be especially true for UK/Ireland where Smyths seems to have been very well stocked. People are still finding them in Smyths and buying+flipping for a quick 50 quid profit. Almost 60 of the 81 listings on ebay EU right now are in UK/Ireland. It's been coming in and out of stock at Smyths.ie for the past few weeks with a limit 1 purchase. I think if that limit was higher, this would be gone by now.

I've been meaning to contribute but was having a hard time deciding which one(s) to buy. Finally figured I had procrastinated long enough, so I bought a few tickets tonight. I am glad to do my share, partly as a thank you for this website and partly because if my own daughter's school were in a similar situation, I would do whatever I could to keep it open too. Correct me if I'm wrong but you're calling out the biggest eBay dealer of genuine Lego mini figures as selling fakes because you can't figure out how they have so many to sell?

Some scumbag removed the figures, resealed the set, returned it, and you bought it from Target this week. You're welcome Either that or they come from China. Fakes!

As a father of two children with disabilities, I find this to be a good step in the right direction.

I'm a procrastinator and always will be. Finally in for a 7-pack of tickets. It's great to see you guys fighting and raising money for a good cause, in addition to the amazing site you run here.
