I've said this many times, and others have said it, re-makes were bound to eventually happen. As far as the rumors of the Snowspeeder, seriously it's been over 10 years. This isn't the stock market, it's a toy. If they can remake smaller sets over and over again, why can't they re-make UCS sets??? As far as the MF, bring it on. Sure I bricklinked mine for a crap ton of money, but I would still go out and spend another $500 for a new UCS MF. Collectors are going to want it regardless. For those crying about re-makes so much, I have no sympathy for you. If you've been holding onto sets for this long because you keep wanting to hope for more money, then it's bound to bite you in the ass. It's the nature of the game. With as hyped as the movie has been, and as great as it is, re-making a UCS MF is probably without a doubt going to be a home run for Lego. You do have to think, that as much press time as 10179 gets, you have to imagine there are a lot of people out there who don't necessarily have $4000+ to spend on 10179, but could possibly afford a $500 TFA MF with the new antenna and be perfectly happy with that. Also, Lego wasn't near the popularity force that it was 10+ years ago. Lego is beyond mainstream now. It's not just a kids toy. And as Ed said, there will be people that are still willing to shell out insane cash at the original 10179 no matter what.7 points

Going all out and doing a back like that is a poor decision. I thought it might be because a building connects there and there is no real back, but... https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@40.7194173,-74.0068717,3a,75y,74.22h,103.74t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sqKA4ICLYossy48mJudJZug!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e15 points

He never finds any clearance of note, it always disappears the night before it's supposed to be marked down. Must be clearance eating elves or something, they got tired of fixing shoes or collecting underpants so they started reselling Lego.5 points

Built the Temple of Airjitsu and Sensei Wu's Dragon. First, ToA is an incredible set. I can't believe it doesn't get more pub for the incredible display it is. It's truly a breathtaking set, and one that deserves a place among the best of the best. Sensei Wu's Dragon is also a great build. I have built almost all of the Ninjago Dragons, and this one is great. The brick built head really shines, and the minifigures are excellent. Plus, it comes with a husky - an added bonus for an already great set! Both are great sets and highly recommended.3 points

The music during the ROTS scene about the tragedy of Plagius the Wise is the same as what's playing during Snoke's TFA screen time.3 points

To be fair, I don't believe there were pictures of what any of the sets would be when that vote took place. The description might have sounded good, but if they make a crappy version of that description, that isn't the voters' fault. Regardless, I didn't vote for a Home One. I think a Jedi Council type set was one of the options and that got my vote.3 points

It really depends on the new UCS Falcon. If the new version fails to live up to the old version, then it's up, up and away. If it is better than the 10179...well, everyone had their chance to sell.3 points

Gotcha. Yeah, Luke was apparently known much more as the rebel pilot who destroyed the first Death Star more than he was as a Jedi and his accomplishments on the second Death Star. I mean, all that stuff in the throne room wasn't really ever broadcast or known by anyone. As far as the galaxy knows, the Emperor just died in the explosion. Exactly, she had no idea about her abilities to use the force until Kylo showed her and opened her mind to it.2 points

Exactly. What, we just want another Vader? We're seeing the evolution of the big-bad for this trilogy as we go along. I love it.2 points

He's a poser, n o doubt. And Rey called him out on it, when she said, "You're afraid you'll never be as strong as Darth Vader." And to hear Kylo Ren talking to Vader's helmet, saying, "Forgive me...I feel the call to the light." He is the inverse of Anakin, but he doesn't know it. Anakin wanted to turn back but couldn't ("It's too late for me" he told Luke) Here you have a man who WANTS to let the dark in. Something happened in his past that has so warped his mind, I don't think there is any redemption for him in this story. And to see him banging on his blaster wound while fighting Rey...that was great. He's feeding his pain, increasing his link to the dark side, because he knows he needs it because he had been weakened). Fascinating stuff.2 points

The skeleton is similar, but the meat is very different. I don't know how you could be disappointed but to each his own. It was the most fun I've ever had at the theater, and everyone I was with thought the same thing. It got even better for me on my second viewing and there is SOOOO much more to the story than I originally thought. There are so many more plot points I missed, especially regarding the bigger picture of what is going on in the galaxy. Spoilers follow: At first I had a small problem with them rehashing the death star thing, and then on second viewing, I got it. The First Order is NOT the Empire. I knew that already, but I was thinking that it was really just a name change. But it is soooo much more than that. The First Order are fanatics. They're insane. They steal children from their families and train them as soldiers. The New Order is operating on a warped view of the Empire. The Emperor was evil, but not everyone who worked for the Empire was. This is not the case with the New Order. They sincerely have a perception of what the Empire was and they're taking the most extreme form of it and idolizing it. So they said, "We're going to rebuild the thing that the Rebellion destroyed as a way of saying that we are not afraid of you." We do the same thing in our own cultures today (rebuilding the World Trade Center, etc..) And then the New Order used that weapon to destroy pretty much the only fleets that the New Republic had (as seen in The Force Awakens when the 5 planets are destroyed) and all that is left is the Resistance, led by Leia, which is basically a black-ops team for the New Republic. I thought it was all genius. And Kylo Ren is the most interesting on-screen villain since...well, for a long, long time.2 points

I would like a UCS Jabba's Sail Barge with a Dersert Skiff. Close to minifig scale. Won't ever happen. a Cloud City would also be nice as would a $100 UCS landspeeder.2 points

you may be right there. I just looked at the sold prices for sealed 7191 UCS X-Wings and they haven't gone down despite the release of Red 5. As a fan it doesn't matter to me whether a model is the original or a re-release as long as I got the model I wanted. I look at it like they are plastic bricks and can be designed into any form imagined. I don't need the older original version. I do understand there are collectors who might want the original or as you said, as a status symbol.2 points

People paying $5000 for a LEGO set will still buy whatever set they want. It will not affect their buying decisions one iota. The 10179 is a status symbol. There is history there. A new one will have no such history....just a lot of people stockpiling it.2 points

Disney paid 4 BILLION dollars for this franchise. You had better believe they will be making more toys, authorized Lego sets included, than there ever before for this franchise , if not just to pay the bills alone. You can expect more remakes from Lego. Now that the Star Wars franchise has been rebooted, the fans are hungry again. Do you really think Lego wants buyers paying $4-5k to resellers when they can reboot that same kit again for $500? Lego is losing roughly $4k in sales every time a buyer buys a 10179. The buyer will spend his $4k in Lego kits , the question is who will he give it to? The Lego corporation or a reseller? Lego can easily get that market share back with a reboot of 10179.2 points

Jumping on the SW love bandwagon after seeing it this afternoon. I am huge OT fan and saw the original film in 1977 when i was 8. TFA is fantastic. A great story told with precisely the right amount of detail and not a drop more. Perfectly edited. I did not expect the emotional response at seeing those yellow letters scrolling up the screen like my life going by but it was so justified. One of the most satisfying motion picture experiences of my life. I was one of those weirdo's giving it a standing ovation at the end. Going to see it again in 2 days.2 points

I sold through half my stock of the 6860 Batcave for $120-125 each FBA. I was expecting more from this set, but LEGO kept it around longer than expected and the Target blowout last year didn't help any. Still not bad for an average $50 buy-in price.1 point

I found an awesome rebate on Gift Cards today at Fred Meyer. This is a re-run of a similar deal I saw around thanksgiving. Essentially it's a $50 rebate, when you buy $100 in gift cards and a 24-pack of Coors products. There was a separate pad of rebates for Blue Moon Beer (Owned by Coors). It's one per household, and the purchase must be made before 12/28/15. This is limited to OR, WA, and ID. I can grab bunches, so if any of you guys don't see this offer in your store, shoot me a PM and I'll mail you a rebate form. I found mine at Fred Meyer, but this does not seem any way tied to specific retailers. I don't see why this wouldn't work at Safeway or any other store that has giftcard mall and sells beer. YMMV if you venture outside Fred Meyer though.1 point

I know there are possible rumors of a AT-AT, but until that actually happens, I'm still hoping for one!!! Like others, having a UCS Landspeeder would be a nice addition to the UCS line. Settings wise, I wouldn't mind seeing a Dagobah with a nice detailed Yoda Hutt, with possibly a partially submerged X-wing. A new huge Cloud City would be really nice to. I really like my EV, and I think it would be nice to see one, seeing as how little love Cloud City gets from Lego.1 point

that's also why I sold my last copy for $3k. It was an average price lol1 point

Seems like the right amount considering the box office haul of TFA and teasers/trailers in 2016 (leading up to the movie) for Rogue One (which will probably get a lot of views/fanfare, etc) to whet the appetite of SW fans. If I paid 4 billion for SW, I would strike while the iron is red hot. Can't blame Disney for wanting to, too. While SW fatigue might be a problem in a couple years, it certainly doesn't look like 2016 will see a lot of buyer fatigue to me.1 point

So, three or four UCS sets for next year. I'm not buying it. Err, I'm not believing it...1 point

Considering you sold it... I don't know. I really like the idea that Plagueis has been behind the scenes, and is really the big bad of the overall arc. Conversely, make Snoke is a new character. For some reason, the Empire decided to go to the Unknown Reaches, and reform as the First Order. Snoke had to have provide *something* that would rally the remnants of the Empire around him and allow him to become Supreme Leader.1 point

I get it. Jeff gets it. We realize the non-US data has been skewed the past several months and there are many reasons for it, most of which are not our fault. Jeff is working on a solution the past few weeks but it takes time to implement, but it will be fixed. The set guide page is also a work in progress and items like the Bricklink prices will come back as well, but when multiple parties are involved, we are dependent on them to supply us with needed information to complete the process. Now that we are in the Holiday season, it only gets harder to make things happen quickly.1 point
