I will say this After watching Episode VII in all its glory if I was Lego, Disney and Lucas Arts and I was trying to attract the millions of people who are new young and vibrant I in absolutely no way would after watching the movie go back and do UCS set of the original Death Star No way at all I am not saying OT UCS sets are done I do not mean that at all There is so much life talent and vibrancy in things in the new movie that can be UCS They could capture so many more fans of all ages with a UCS Star Killer Seeing the movie actually had me consider something (no I do not feel this way but it crossed my mind) wow the Death Star is old news, this Star Killer and everything else is new fresh high tech and cool For this reason I think those that have stocked up on the old Death Star will do great over the next few years whether it is replaced some day or not by a better version. the old death star may not spike initially if the star killer releases and people buy it first (I would if I was a kid asking my parents and I was new to star wars now) but I think this sets up the 10188 for an excellent appreciation over several years the death star is dead long live the death star5 points

We are just a little "pumped" for the movie. 5 more mins until the movie previews begin. Yeah, eating popcorn with the mask is kinda hard. The Lego Star Wars commercial just played and it was awesome.4 points

And... who do you think is going to buy your DS's in 20 years time? Exactly. So it is not that unimportant.4 points

My initial trip to Wal-Mart late Sunday night netted zilch. Their online inventory indicated 3 AT-AT in-store. The Wal-Mart associate said, "Hmm... I see them on my computer but they're not on the shelves. They must have been stolen..." Sadness. Fast forward to today, my boys and I are picking up some household items and lo and behold in the Lego aisle: 3 pristine AT-ATs. Woohoo! Everything's AWESOME!4 points

Hi All- Thank you for the awesome info on this site! I fell into Lego reselling exactly a year ago. This is by far my favorite site for information. Up until now, I mainly have dealt in used Legos. I've been lucky to find some gems on Craigslist. My husband, three kids (ages 6, 4 and 2) and I love building. (4 and 2 year olds are awesome color sorters!) My 6-year old has an insatiable Lego appetite and has already declared he will design Legos as his job when he grows up. I think his favorite build so far was the Tower Bridge. (In one year, we have built Imperial Flagship, HP Castle, many Star Wars UCS, Market Street, Cafe Corner, Fire Brigade, Black Seas Barracuda, etc...) We have fun building and then selling. In my first year, we have profited close to $8k. If you asked me at the beginning of the year, I would have said that I would have been pleased with a few hundred dollars in my pocket. I just started dipping my toe in the water with buying new sets. I kept noticing the plethora of 75919 Indominus Rex' at our Lego store, so I thought I'd purchase some and give it a try. So far so good! I'm an addict to the forum dealing with the fruitcakes on eBay. It is a great forum for laughter, learning and venting. If anyone can recommend good forums for following the deals on new sets, I would appreciate it. Also, any good threads to read on buying new? Again many thanks and happy holidays!3 points

Daisy / Ray is a masterstroke by Disney. Exceptional casting and character creation, I can’t remember ever seeing such a strong female lead that is a relatable as Ray. Girls will be emulating her worldwide. Really opens up the franchise to a new market. I’m all in on Rey's Speeder.3 points

The problem with spoiler tags is they don't hide on phone app. Urgh So to the guys who have seen it are we talking good film or classic?3 points

I feel like I can safely wander back in here, after being absent for awhile. I won't spoil plot, but I will give my opinion...3 points

Haha, that's what I thought. Other funny Lego notes:3 points

It was amazing. I had high expectations and I thought it was just perfect. The super-hardcore fan fiction types will complain about some things, but JJ absolutely nailed it IMO.3 points

I will have to unfollow this thread until tomorrow or saturday night. Too much risk of accidentally reading spoilers.3 points

I think it helps in this case to be in a smaller/slower market or lower monetary demographic? Or maybe just luck. For those in the big(ger) cities you do probably have more kijiji cash in hand flip options so maybe it all evens out? Any BPers in London, ON? Still seeing some store stock at a few of sets I want. I'll be there over the holidays and if you leave any on the shelves I'll force myself to 'swoop' them.2 points

The secret: 1) Limited release window and availability 2) Considered to be crap or a bad choice by The Horde 3) Secretly popular with actual customers, not just resellers. 4) Something unusual or unlikely to be remade.2 points

24 Hour Race Car is %25 off at Sears.ca (today only). I know some of you were talking about this set earlier, but not sure if it was %20 or %25 off. There's probably a coupon code to try and bundle with it as well. I don't buy Technic, so not sure if its worth it or not. http://www.sears.ca/product/lego-technic-1219-piece-24-hours-race-car/616-000053108-61002122 points

All I do is count the money I make. I don't care what MSRP was. My buy-in is much more important in my investment decisions.2 points

When I read this thread the theory is posted that the ecto won't retire because of the GBHQ. This doesn't make real sence to me. The GBHQ has a very high end-consumer price tag with over 300€. I don't think that anybody who hasn't got an ecto until yet wants the building too. A real Ghostbuster or Lego Fan own the ecto a long time before, I think! So there is no need to keep it longer alive only because of the GBHQ!! Also we can see in Germany, where I am from, on the LEGO Shop at Home site that the set is limited to 2 sets for purchases. On GaleriaKaufhof it is no more available. Till last month you could order 6 sets with every single purchase. So signs are there that the set will be fade away... hopefully... The movie just made me smile. The kinda smile you make when something really impresses a person and you just have to give props and say..."That's goooood." I loved the old school feel and sound.s. Everything seemed real., from the way the guns fire to the beat up look of all the ships. They reminded me of some WWII bombers and fighters. Kylo Ren's shuttle was awesome and the LEGO set doesn't really portray it well in my opinion. From a LEGO standpoint, there wasn't a lot of new or memorable vehicles to work with, but that is not a knock on the movie, just disappointing from a new set perspective.2 points

I enjoyed it. I have a strong urge to build a bunch of SW sets I have stashed away. Kids loved BB-8, I've got to think we'll get a UCS of this droid at some point. My oldest thought we were going to see a sequel where all the characters looked the same as they did 30 years ago, from his comments he is an OT purist. I kind of disagree.2 points

http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-2016-super-heroes-sets-revealed-in-german-lego-catalog/ Brickfan has gotten ahold of all the 2016 Super Heroes sets it appears. Mighty Micro Fighters are what I thought they would be which is nice. How many freaky jets do super heroes need?2 points
