  1. Y'all need to stop wasting time posting......you are wasting precious hoarding time. BUY, BUY, BUY, BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's see if we can make this set worthless!
  2. But those will be labeled 'Health Leedger' on the box...
  3. eBay: SSD $900 ($10 final value fee) Delorean $130

  5. The Tumbler is a must have set. When it retires, people will panic once again. This is no Tower of Orthanc. It's much better. As I stated a long time ago, you can never have too many of this set. It will perform better than any Modular and will be on the same league as the Slave 1 and other UCS sets IMO. If it disappears soon...lookout.
  6. Microfighter x-wing and millennium falcon for $38 on ebay. x3
  7. LEGO: The tumbler and hellicarrier are retiring hurry and get them before they are gone forever!!!!!! The horde: we better hurry and buy buy buy buy buy!!!!!!!!! Lego a few months later: ha ha ha just kidding suckas!!!!!
  8. $130 set bought on BF for 40% off sold via CL for RRP. $50 profit for an 8-day hold. My most sincere apologies to the QFLL's. I was wrong to criticize you. Even with my high moral standards, opportunities like this are just too hard to say no to.
  9. Mom & Pop sale extravaganza!
  10. I think there is way to much thought going into this, it's retiring soon that's all there is to it.
  11. I just wanted to share a special moment I just had with those of you that are thinking of contributing and would really like to see your published work on the store shelves. Today was finally the first day I got to go to a store and see if the book was available. I got to say it was a pretty surreal moment to walk down the isle and then see your name on the spine mixed in with the rest. It was a lot of work, but in the end I am grateful that we were giving the opportunity and this next book will be even better.
  12. i'm doing my part to ensure its not a poor seller. i think the timing is great. time to get to goal. up to 7 - would like to be at 21 by EOL. i have no darkseids and i can sleep at night. not sure i'd be able to sleep without a small stash of tumblers. Tumber EOL - now that will be some epic F5'ing you can be sure.
  13. Today I learned something exists called "Google will eat itself" on a Lego-related site. Of course, I used Google search to figure out what GWEI is.
  14. Woo! Just topped $200 on Amazon from a 3PS. Love it. A shame I only have two, but I think I'm going to hang on to them a while. I'd probably have more if I had a B&N closer to my home.
  15. Where have you been hiding? Under a rock?
  16. this set makes me drink alot.
  17. 40138 Christmas Train for $45 on eBay
  18. These were a good buy with Target snafu...
  19. Was in Canadian tire last night browsing and came across the LEGO section 20-50% off. There were some good buys (ISD, ATAT, Pirate Ship). However a few other locations i checked had no sales at all, and some were only like %20. Online price does not reflect the in store price as well. Picked up a couple ATAT's
  20. Oh man those GBH prices, gotta love the insanity.
  21. The problem is the sniping approach. When most investors buy in bulk when a set is rumor to retire that spikes sells and may lead Lego to extend its life. But if everyone buy their quotas in a steady phase throughout the product life cycle, it should not skew the sales metric too much and should reduce any last minute product life extension. Also less F5 heart attack on us too
  22. I keep having no luck with local sales the last few weeks if anyone near DeSoto Tx starting 12/9 some vintage space if anyone near Liberty, Mo for 12/10- nice adventures stuff
  23. Probably you are right. But I hope I am right.
  24. I don't think they're that compassionate. If they were, you'd get a heads up on everything. I think maybe they're not selling it as quickly as they'd like & stock levels are high in the countries they have it tagged "retiring soon."
  25. Where's the fun in that???
  26. GBH $78 x2 Amazon, actually scared of selling higher with risk of price dropping and getting hit with returns
  27. Unless you count the ones from China.
  28. This statement is true but it also has 6
  29. The online saving feature for Walmart.ca is back and Benny's spaceship is 50% off. My first post so wanted to say hi. I'm more of a collector vs investor and have been on this site learning and catching deals when I can and its hard because you guys are fast.

Sell the new sets and buy used sets to build. That is what I've been dong. Just wait for a deal to turn up. They always do depending on what you consider a deal... Then sell the used sets when you are ready for at least a small profit.
  31. Yes, you did. Do not take it personally. Here you will even get shot down if you post the earth is round.
  32. Buy the tires direct from LEGO.com for $8 per tire.
  33. I posted 2-3 months back that my local Lego shop Boss told me that it would be retiring soon and it would also take everyone by surprise. It even had a Retiring soon tag on the box in the store. Got shot down pretty quickly. looks like his prophecy might be right Helicarrier is retiring soon as well according to him, like I posted. Retiring soon tag in the store and a sign that says "not eligible for members discount anymore"
  34. I agree. Well, isn't there a new Batmobile in the new movie that would make the Tumbler outdated? Just sayin..... Makes a lot of sense...
  35. My inventory ultimately ends up sorted in a tray system (for the most part). I use the "Remarks" section to tag what tray the lot is in, so "T1, T2" etc. When looking at your inventory summary page you can sort by the remarks. So sometimes I will spot check a tray by sorting for the "T2" remark and auditing. I can only get about 30 lots in each tray, so it's manageable. Happy to share pics of the trays I use if anyone is interested.

Oh yeah, well one time I got them for $3 each after BOGO, stacked with 20% off, TRUTH and Rewards dollars. So I pretty much can't be beat.
  37. Good luck getting that feedback removed. You will need persistence or luck in large amounts, maybe both. I had a similar situation last year with an old Star Wars polybag set. The mom who bought it let her kid open it and build it then left negative feedback for it being "so small" and "such a ripoff". I even bold / highlighted the piece count in my listing description... It took a lot of convincing eBay that her "honest experience" had nothing to do with my performance as a seller, only her failure to be a responsible buyer.
  38. Truly amazing how little attention this is getting. The space station that cried wolf, indeed.
  39. Yes, there will be a custom minifigure chapter. Listen, I can tell you that if people come up with some kick ass custom stuff, we will find a place to put it. I will go with the flow and morph to whatever people are turning in.
  40. More like orthanc doing well ? ( atleast here in the land of Uncle Sam)

If you ever get a damaged box of a set you want for your personal collection, set it aside. That makes it a little easier for me.
  42. Did it once while I was under 10k. Extremely time-consuming. Since I passed the 10k mark, I know that alterations to my inventory can only be minor and besides, each BL member knows that if they order the full quantity of a certain piece one store has, they may end up a piece or two short. I had one larger order recently, a fellow reseller emptied my inventory on some parts I had on cheap, I was missing 6 of one piece, 5 of other, 3 of another yet and then 1x and 1x. Completely negligible compared to the size of the order and of course he didn't mind in the slightest, it happens to all of us... The important thing is you pack your orders well (ziplock bags preferably), and that you are honest about your pieces (used/new) and that you ship fast if they need them urgently, all the rest is secondary...
  43. Most of what you're looking for will probably be found in the blogs, but some general rules of thumb: - Store boxes on the side, packed tightly next to each other. Never stack them flat for extended periods of time, the cardboard just can't handle the weight and the lower boxes will eventually crush. Storing them tightly next to each other will help prevent the contents from sagging and bowing out the bottom of the box. ---- in an ideal world, if you could store LEGO boxes laying flat, never more than one on top of each other, that would be the best way since you'd get practically zero outward pressure from content sag. But that would take an enormous amount of space/shelving! - Store them in a place with "normal" humidity with no sunlight. This will prevent the box from absorbing moisture and help the seals stay attached longer. Sunlight will eventually fade the box artwork. - Some people do like to bag them up (http://community.brickpicker.com/blog/brickvesting/protecting-lego-boxes-storage-bags/) - Some people like to store them in outer boxes to prevent shelf wear and generally protect against dust and damage. - Don't store on wire shelving - put some thick cardboard or thin plywood (try masonite, nice and smooth) to keep the wires from digging into the box. IF you need to stack them, store them in outer cardboard boxes. The LEGO boxes are not made to handle the weight of another set on top... they will crush. So when you do stack those outer boxes filled with sets, you can stack same-sized boxes ensuring the edges (the strongest part of the box) are lined up. Look at how pallets are stacked - if all boxes are the same size, they are stacked perfectly vertical. If they are different sizes (say rectangular) then one layer goes North-South and the next goes East-West.
  44. Or MEC? I mean those 3 Bith musicians.... you're effectively getting the Dre, 50, and Eminem of the SW universe all in one set.
  45. Weren't trains supposed to be awesome?
  46. For the same reason you can't be bothered to type the set name I can't be bothered to google it. :-)
  47. I would hazard a guess that most buyers of lego architecture sets are not architects, but from various professions. Similarly most buyers of art pieces are not artists, and buyers of swiss mechanical watches are not watch makers.
  48. These models are quite good I think. Santa Maria della Salute, Venice Frauenkirche Dresden
