The Tumbler is a must have set. When it retires, people will panic once again. This is no Tower of Orthanc. It's much better. As I stated a long time ago, you can never have too many of this set. It will perform better than any Modular and will be on the same league as the Slave 1 and other UCS sets IMO. If it disappears soon...lookout.5 points

$130 set bought on BF for 40% off sold via CL for RRP. $50 profit for an 8-day hold. My most sincere apologies to the QFLL's. I was wrong to criticize you. Even with my high moral standards, opportunities like this are just too hard to say no to.4 points

I think there is way to much thought going into this, it's retiring soon that's all there is to it.4 points

I just wanted to share a special moment I just had with those of you that are thinking of contributing and would really like to see your published work on the store shelves. Today was finally the first day I got to go to a store and see if the book was available. I got to say it was a pretty surreal moment to walk down the isle and then see your name on the spine mixed in with the rest. It was a lot of work, but in the end I am grateful that we were giving the opportunity and this next book will be even better.4 points

i'm doing my part to ensure its not a poor seller. i think the timing is great. time to get to goal. up to 7 - would like to be at 21 by EOL. i have no darkseids and i can sleep at night. not sure i'd be able to sleep without a small stash of tumblers. Tumber EOL - now that will be some epic F5'ing you can be sure.4 points

Today I learned something exists called "Google will eat itself" on a Lego-related site. Of course, I used Google search to figure out what GWEI is.3 points

Woo! Just topped $200 on Amazon from a 3PS. Love it. A shame I only have two, but I think I'm going to hang on to them a while. I'd probably have more if I had a B&N closer to my home.3 points

Was in Canadian tire last night browsing and came across the LEGO section 20-50% off. There were some good buys (ISD, ATAT, Pirate Ship). However a few other locations i checked had no sales at all, and some were only like %20. Online price does not reflect the in store price as well. Picked up a couple ATAT's2 points

Oh man those GBH prices, gotta love the insanity.2 points

The problem is the sniping approach. When most investors buy in bulk when a set is rumor to retire that spikes sells and may lead Lego to extend its life. But if everyone buy their quotas in a steady phase throughout the product life cycle, it should not skew the sales metric too much and should reduce any last minute product life extension. Also less F5 heart attack on us too2 points

I don't think they're that compassionate. If they were, you'd get a heads up on everything. I think maybe they're not selling it as quickly as they'd like & stock levels are high in the countries they have it tagged "retiring soon."2 points

The online saving feature for Walmart.ca is back and Benny's spaceship is 50% off. My first post so wanted to say hi. I'm more of a collector vs investor and have been on this site learning and catching deals when I can and its hard because you guys are fast.2 points

Sell the new sets and buy used sets to build. That is what I've been dong. Just wait for a deal to turn up. They always do depending on what you consider a deal... Then sell the used sets when you are ready for at least a small profit.2 points

Yes, you did. Do not take it personally. Here you will even get shot down if you post the earth is round.2 points

I posted 2-3 months back that my local Lego shop Boss told me that it would be retiring soon and it would also take everyone by surprise. It even had a Retiring soon tag on the box in the store. Got shot down pretty quickly. looks like his prophecy might be right Helicarrier is retiring soon as well according to him, like I posted. Retiring soon tag in the store and a sign that says "not eligible for members discount anymore"2 points

I agree. Well, isn't there a new Batmobile in the new movie that would make the Tumbler outdated? Just sayin..... Makes a lot of sense...2 points

My inventory ultimately ends up sorted in a tray system (for the most part). I use the "Remarks" section to tag what tray the lot is in, so "T1, T2" etc. When looking at your inventory summary page you can sort by the remarks. So sometimes I will spot check a tray by sorting for the "T2" remark and auditing. I can only get about 30 lots in each tray, so it's manageable. Happy to share pics of the trays I use if anyone is interested.2 points

Oh yeah, well one time I got them for $3 each after BOGO, stacked with 20% off, TRUTH and Rewards dollars. So I pretty much can't be beat.2 points

Good luck getting that feedback removed. You will need persistence or luck in large amounts, maybe both. I had a similar situation last year with an old Star Wars polybag set. The mom who bought it let her kid open it and build it then left negative feedback for it being "so small" and "such a ripoff". I even bold / highlighted the piece count in my listing description... It took a lot of convincing eBay that her "honest experience" had nothing to do with my performance as a seller, only her failure to be a responsible buyer.2 points

Truly amazing how little attention this is getting. The space station that cried wolf, indeed.2 points

Only picked up AT-AT's that were %30, i think a lot of city stuff was %50, and ISD/P-ship maybe %20. Judging by the signage though; these are sales done store to store (hence why i found some stores with no sales) and not a company wide thing.1 point

I am sure most of you would probably scan it anyway, but because I am a moron I decided to brave TRU on a Holiday Shopping Saturday to look for Lonely Mountains/AT-ATs. I stumbled across a Galaxy Squad Hive Crawler. Rang up at .03 cents. They gave me a hard time about it at the register, called over a manager, but begrudgingly gave it to me at that price. Dumped it in the donation box. They were out of this weeks LEGO promo, and wouldn't sub in any hulks which was annoying. Last week there were two LM's, both were gone this week. Lots of Hydra Smash and I snared the last AT-AT. As a NON-TRU observation, my B&N had like 20 Falcons on their Star Wars display. I boldly predict some of those may make it to a 20-25% discount at some point.1 point

Yes. I'm kinda new around here, but I wouldn't pick one up unless I could get it with at least the 20% stacked w/ TRU. I would grab a handful at that price, but also realize that you'll be sitting on those for a while before EOL. So it's a matter of weighing your options and strategy. If you believe sometime between now and EOL these will sell for a bit less (closer to RRP) and you'll still have access to a 20% coupon and 10% TRUTH, you might wanna wait. I believe all of those to be true, so I haven't tied my budget up in more than 2 of these. I got those two as part of GH transactions.1 point

No, it's not difficult. Just as it's not difficult for one of the largest retailers in the world to remove a few lines of code in a POS system to not allow partial pay. But when that little screen pops up and asks you if you want to Partial Pay, what gives any employee of the store the right to say you can't tap it? So until they remove that option, it's going to be used.1 point

Post OT in the real world, pre OT in the Star Wars universe. I need a big white board and plenty of markers to draw the flowchart for myself.1 point

I saw a post on Close5 for "Hello Kitty Lego set". I sent a message saying "It's Mega Bloks". Seller says "No. It's regular tiny Lego" smh. It pains me to know that some people hold the following definitions: Lego= small, plastic, clickable building toy Mega Bloks = large, chunky, plastic, clickable building toy Mega Bloks is a noun, not an adjective. Grrr!1 point
