  1. What a lame thread. Your Lego dreams were crushed over a $4 polybag. Wow

  5. Sure, but please just do not open a new thread the next time you didn't get a 3.45-Set
  6. Or the Target employee forum about the crazy old man that comes in and buys all the lego and leaves none for the kids.
  7. By leaving them, you are depriving yourself of future happy customers while at the same time leaving the door open to and thus tacitly encouraging other low-life types to get into the quick-flipping racket.
  8. Here's my question, someone who buys a bunch of stuff now to resell immediately, or someone who does it to throw in a hole not to see the light of day for years, what's the huge difference that makes one more acceptable to you than the other? Is it that the serious long term people don't really go for Christmas tree polybags?
  9. Make the kid help, then give them a share of the proceeds.
  10. I think most members are very generous with their information and realize that this thread was not all that serious. A few members are too tightly wound up and need to relax. As you spend more time on the site, you will realize which members to tune out and which you should take advice from.
  11. The 15% off coupon that expires 11/28 and $5 off $25 stack so $42.49 in store and the $10 Promo GC that are supposed to work 12/1 work today. Paid $2.49 OTD also 3PO Poly works in lots of 7 with same coupons

And I don't understand who could buy Bionicles, but alas :D
  16. Legone3 I already offered to send him a free one perhaps we can see how many we can get collected at least 4 one per kid would be nice.
  17. It´s the autocorrect. You don´t want to know what word it changed to "actors."
  18. Lol. Not only will this never retire, we'll have to wait until TRU gets through their 1000 units at a 25% markup.
  19. I bought enough to calm my personal desire to have everything and also to curb my loathsome trepidation of missing out on something.
  20. was in a similar position a year ago. Dont look at the whole thing as 1 big project, it will seem overwhelming. Start with a set and just keep trucking. It may seem like a lot of time for $15 but with every set you organize, something awesome happens too, the pile gets smaller and each set gets organized a little faster and you figure out a rhythm and system as you go and it starts to go really fast and it feels SOOOOOO good to get it organized. And thats straight cash sitting there too:) I have a rule with my son, before he can build a set, we have to properly disassemble a set back into ziploc bags and back in the box with some tape. Its made our collection look sweet and someday when he wants to sell, it will be much easier. The hardest part is just getting started.
  21. Scans at 54.99. Shelf tag says 109
  22. He's buying the "marked down" polybags from the holiday section. Target has marked them down to get rid of them. They want to be done with the holiday, as it's over when the discount is applied. Why on earth would they have a limit? There's a similar story about a bird being early & he's rewarded then with a worm...
  23. Oh but they are! http://brickset.com/article/17673
  24. 2 points
Sorting 2200+ loose minifig heads to get the right faces with each set would drive me bonkers.
  25. http://shop.lego.com/en-CA/Helicopter-Surveillance-60046?fromListing=listing I believe this is a new addition to the sold out ranks and it´s a HELICOPTER! That means we will definitely need another helicopter in 2016 or there will be a shortage.

I feel so alone so empty only the 5 off 25 and the 15 off one item survives
  27. Chances are good that you'll see that Christmas Tree set again at your store. It's in the Target ad for 11/22 to 11/25. Free LEGO Christmas Tree set when you buy any Juniors, Super Heroes, CITY, Elves or Classic set $24.99 or higher. So, check back again this week!
  28. Agreed. I'm no QFFL by any means. Quite the opposite as I am a buy and hold guy with a few quick flips sprinkled in here and there. That said, I don't fault quick flippers for buying all the stock in one shot. They see an opportunity and they go for it. I've cleared many a shelf of good sets on clearance and put them in storage with no intention of selling them for several years. What's the difference? None. This thread really belongs in the complaint thread and not on it's own. If the OP is looking for sympathy, they are probably on the wrong site. Buying and selling is what we do, short and long term.
  29. With exception to the person who purchased 2.
  30. Well, now I know who they were complaining about on /r/lego today (the seller with the $50 GH). lol
  31. It must be nice. I wonder if these people also put stacks of cash through a paper shredder because it makes pretty confetti
  32. How is that even possible? It was free with $99 purchase. Why not LEGO Shop at Home for $99 of product AND GH? Are buyers really that ridiculous?
  33. I really need to start reporting sales more frequently, such as every few days, instead of several weeks at a time. With everything going on these days, time just gets away until I realize several weeks have slipped by. Anyway, sales since I last reported on 3 Nov: On eBay (all prices include free shipping): Lone Ranger Silver Mine Shootout Damaged Box 79110 - sold for $62, paid $24.80 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Van Takedown 79115 - sold for $49, paid $20.33 City Tow Truck 60056 - sold for $39, paid $18.05 Friends Macaw's Fountain Polybag 41044 - sold for $7, paid $2.12 Bricktober Hotel 40141 - sold for $30, paid $0 free TRU promo City Police Dog Unit 60048 - sold for $50, paid $22.47 x2 Lego Castle Gatehouse Raid 70402 - sold for $40 each, paid $9.77 City Snowplow Truck 60083 - sold for $24, paid $11.30 On Amazon: Space Vermin Vaporizer 70704 - sold for $43 + $5.49 shipping credit, paid no out-of pocket cost (redeemed TRU rewards) City Logging Truck 60059 - sold for $50 + $4.99 shipping credit, paid $19.52 x3 Jurassic World Indominus Rex 75919 - sold for $195 each + $7.49 shipping credit, paid $130 each x4 Minecraft Micro World 21102 - sold for $46 each + $4.99 shipping credit, paid $32.89 (glad to get rid of these) x2 Christmas Train 40138 - sold for $32 each + $4.99 shipping credit, paid $0 free LEGO Shop at Home promo
  34. If you were being consistent with the bad news shouldn't they also find out they are the father?
  35. No moderating is gonna get rid of this thread. This is brickpicker ratings gold.
  36. Care to elaborate? Read somewhere that the Big Ben will replace TB next year. No, you haven't read that. Not as fact. You've seen people speculate that, but there is no information from LEGO that this is the case. Just setting the record straight. Not calling you out. All we suspect right now is that there is a Big Ben set coming out. We don't even knew for sure what size it will be. And we don't know whether TB will be going away.
  37. Oh crap! I knew I should have held on to that Delorean... Can I get a "Great Scott!"? To everyone else, you're right. I have oft bought $200+ on a whim, but couldn't pony up $4 for a little tree? I know I make no sense, but logic and Legos are rarely involved in the same thought.
  38. The 15% off coupon that expires 11/28 and $5 off $25 stack so $42.49 in store and the $10 Promo GC that are supposed to work 12/1 work today.
  39. Ahhhhh your alive. JK, I told you she wasn't dead.
  40. 2 Slave I, 1 Tumbler, and 2 Ferris Wheels. Each came with a Gingerbread House and 2xVIP. I don't have any Ferris Wheels yet so I figured now would be as good a time as any to grab a couple.
  41. Bricklink stats show that this set has been in stagnation since May (as have 10197 and 10211) and also that there are roughly double the number of sets listed now as then. As a buyer, if you see that prices are falling as people undercut one another you will hold off from making your purchase as long as possible - sellers get more nervous and the price goes down. Compare this with SSD and R2 which have both grown steadily during the same period and now have much fewer listings - perhaps the anticipation of the new film is giving them a kick in the pants and there is more to come. If the modulars don´t regain upward momentum after Xmas it is not a good sign of things to come.
  42. Lets elaborate on that "sell it now and buy another set who can do X2 in a year". Maybe if you had an insight into retiring sets or were just plain psychic I would say this is a perfect philosophy, however you're point is flawed. I am sitting on a huge stash of T1 Campervans that I was convinced were going last year or this. I have Tower Bridges, Ecto-1's, Pet Shops, Brick Bountys, all sets that I was convinced were retiring soon and look how that's turning out. Predicting retirements is difficult and selling a set that to just rinse and repeat is going to get your fingers burnt soon enough. Over the last two years I watched numerous sets that I've sold rise in value while the sets I replaced them with sit stagnant in my loft. One more thing. Very very few sets double in price after one year. Plus when you factor in tax, eBay fees, Paypal fees most good sets will only return 25-50% max after 12 months of retiring. For every 1 successful set its very easy to invest into 4 poor performers.
  43. The rumors are true. Picked up my first ever friends lego set at ross, dolphin cruiser for 44.99. I like this ship and i liked the price. It was also worth it just to see my son stare at me with a look of disbelief as i paid for it. He made a couple loud comments about not wanting a girls set in front of some women but then in the car away from any girls, he says "i think i want to build this ship, it looks pretty cool". Punk kids these days
  44. Lloyd and superboy are easy sells that more than pay for set, trying to figure out what to do with the other two Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Brickpicker mobile app
