Here's my question, someone who buys a bunch of stuff now to resell immediately, or someone who does it to throw in a hole not to see the light of day for years, what's the huge difference that makes one more acceptable to you than the other? Is it that the serious long term people don't really go for Christmas tree polybags?4 points

I think most members are very generous with their information and realize that this thread was not all that serious. A few members are too tightly wound up and need to relax. As you spend more time on the site, you will realize which members to tune out and which you should take advice from.3 points

was in a similar position a year ago. Dont look at the whole thing as 1 big project, it will seem overwhelming. Start with a set and just keep trucking. It may seem like a lot of time for $15 but with every set you organize, something awesome happens too, the pile gets smaller and each set gets organized a little faster and you figure out a rhythm and system as you go and it starts to go really fast and it feels SOOOOOO good to get it organized. And thats straight cash sitting there too:) I have a rule with my son, before he can build a set, we have to properly disassemble a set back into ziploc bags and back in the box with some tape. Its made our collection look sweet and someday when he wants to sell, it will be much easier. The hardest part is just getting started.2 points

He's buying the "marked down" polybags from the holiday section. Target has marked them down to get rid of them. They want to be done with the holiday, as it's over when the discount is applied. Why on earth would they have a limit? There's a similar story about a bird being early & he's rewarded then with a worm...2 points

Chances are good that you'll see that Christmas Tree set again at your store. It's in the Target ad for 11/22 to 11/25. Free LEGO Christmas Tree set when you buy any Juniors, Super Heroes, CITY, Elves or Classic set $24.99 or higher. So, check back again this week!2 points

Agreed. I'm no QFFL by any means. Quite the opposite as I am a buy and hold guy with a few quick flips sprinkled in here and there. That said, I don't fault quick flippers for buying all the stock in one shot. They see an opportunity and they go for it. I've cleared many a shelf of good sets on clearance and put them in storage with no intention of selling them for several years. What's the difference? None. This thread really belongs in the complaint thread and not on it's own. If the OP is looking for sympathy, they are probably on the wrong site. Buying and selling is what we do, short and long term.2 points

How is that even possible? It was free with $99 purchase. Why not LEGO Shop at Home for $99 of product AND GH? Are buyers really that ridiculous?2 points

I really need to start reporting sales more frequently, such as every few days, instead of several weeks at a time. With everything going on these days, time just gets away until I realize several weeks have slipped by. Anyway, sales since I last reported on 3 Nov: On eBay (all prices include free shipping): Lone Ranger Silver Mine Shootout Damaged Box 79110 - sold for $62, paid $24.80 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Van Takedown 79115 - sold for $49, paid $20.33 City Tow Truck 60056 - sold for $39, paid $18.05 Friends Macaw's Fountain Polybag 41044 - sold for $7, paid $2.12 Bricktober Hotel 40141 - sold for $30, paid $0 free TRU promo City Police Dog Unit 60048 - sold for $50, paid $22.47 x2 Lego Castle Gatehouse Raid 70402 - sold for $40 each, paid $9.77 City Snowplow Truck 60083 - sold for $24, paid $11.30 On Amazon: Space Vermin Vaporizer 70704 - sold for $43 + $5.49 shipping credit, paid no out-of pocket cost (redeemed TRU rewards) City Logging Truck 60059 - sold for $50 + $4.99 shipping credit, paid $19.52 x3 Jurassic World Indominus Rex 75919 - sold for $195 each + $7.49 shipping credit, paid $130 each x4 Minecraft Micro World 21102 - sold for $46 each + $4.99 shipping credit, paid $32.89 (glad to get rid of these) x2 Christmas Train 40138 - sold for $32 each + $4.99 shipping credit, paid $0 free LEGO Shop at Home promo2 points

Care to elaborate? Read somewhere that the Big Ben will replace TB next year. No, you haven't read that. Not as fact. You've seen people speculate that, but there is no information from LEGO that this is the case. Just setting the record straight. Not calling you out. All we suspect right now is that there is a Big Ben set coming out. We don't even knew for sure what size it will be. And we don't know whether TB will be going away.2 points

Oh crap! I knew I should have held on to that Delorean... Can I get a "Great Scott!"? To everyone else, you're right. I have oft bought $200+ on a whim, but couldn't pony up $4 for a little tree? I know I make no sense, but logic and Legos are rarely involved in the same thought.2 points

	I suspect a twist. Of the episodes you missed, 3 & 4 are good. 5&6 meh. 7&8 very good. 9 rubbish.1 point

you can pack 6 in a little 12x8x4 box , cheap ship to Kentucky via ebay GPS to some guy in Chiiiina (like Trump says) for $130. at least that's what I did last time these came out. I bought 30 this morning when the 20% code was still working and there were no limits @ $8.46 after shipping and tax. buyin at 8.46 x 6 = 50.76 $130 sale price, free shipping, 6 pack post ebay fees and shipping ~ 100. that's enough math.1 point

meh - got mine at $49 like lots of brickpickers. I'm sort of hoping we see $40-45 but in the post-brickpicker era, unlikely for building, $55 is a great price. it may be a good price for investing but this theme is sort of a big question mark. with TRU card and coupon magic, i'm sure there's even more meat on the bone.1 point

This thread is funny. You saw it three days in a row and didn't buy it but now blame Quick Flipping Low Lifes because you didn't want to spend the $4. Your lack of a Christmas Tree is no bodies fault but your own. Things sell out a Christmas. Just a quick edit: last year when target had Simpsons CMF for $1.48 I bought 100 of them. Used ten as party favors and donated the rest to my kids school (which in turn used them as rewards for reading). So just because large numbers of a very inexpensive item disappeared overnight doesn't always mean QFLL.1 point

I don't see how it's his fault saying he should have just bought them when he saw them. I think what's fair is that people should be able to buy a lego set when it's available within reason. I totally agree that he should be upset. If there were 20, and he just didn't think about getting it, he has that right to believe it would still be there next day. it's not like there were 1 or 2. Look, I resell lego as well...obviously, but I tend to buy 1-3 of anything. not 20-100. If people want to do that, so be it, if the stores sell them to you, can't stop you. don't hate you. but doesn't make it right either. I'm in favor of having "little timmy" (so to speak) be able to get a toy he wants and for his parents to have the means. When a set is retired, then that's the time to cash in and people who buy pay because they want it and or missed out. I hope this all makes sense. Do what you want, everyone has the right, I just lean to the side he's on to and understand why he's upset that's all I'm saying. the whole quick flip thing with as many people that buy lego today is killing a lot of things. it's way to saturated, and lego doesn't mind. they'll just keep producing more and the sets you want retired take longer and cost less. not a recipe for success in my book. trying to be completely civil and fair here to understand both sides btw. everyone will have there own outlook.1 point
