  1. I tried my best here. I am NOT a PS expert. I used Paint!

  2. Don't mind at all. I purchased lot from a fellow Brickpicker back in February/March. Consisted of 250+ lbs. He had done some initial sorting, but finishing that and washing all the parts took about a month. I have been ordering parts as I go, inventorying about a dozen sets or so going by theme.(Had over 100 sets in it from 2005-2009 timeframe) Overall, I'm sure I've made minimum wage due to that hours put in sorting, but was able to keep some really cool sets like an Emerald Night, Motorized AT/AT, 7993 Service Station I've wanted for a long time, random figures, etc. etc. Between what I kept and sold/end up selling(have about a dozen left), I'll make a few thousand profit on a few thousand investment. Was hoping to double my money and I'll be darn close to doing it. This takes into account parts ordered, but not time or anything as I don't lose normal income due to working on this. I've kept a spreadsheet just for this lot to see how it goes. I'll also be taking a long break from doing this again as well.

  3. "Americans" come in all shapes, sizes, and types... and personally, I like it when someone politely and professionally explains him/herself. I wouldn't still post here on BP if the mods didn't keep things civil and lite and the patrons didn't show at least a modest amount of respect for each other. For the record, I'm a huge GB fan, but I won't be going big on this for investment. Yet. Lets see what demand actually looks like once it's available and TLG's future for the line. Case in point regarding "civil and lite."

  7. I was never interested in Ninjago, but they have really ramped up the designs lately. Temple of Airjitsu is gorgeous. And I've been eyeing FFoDB for the last few weeks. This is really well done. It has a dragon, it's a boat. It fits into an Eastern theme. There are a lot of potential wins for this set.

  9. The ships display very well without the mini figs, it's worth picking up a set of sails for BP. For a long time I had only two sets displayed in my house, QAR and BP. They go together very nicely. For $85 you did well, even without the minifigures.

  11. To answer your question I feel like the delivery of your product in the quality of the box the thickness the tape the label and how it is packaged and is what defines you as a seller it is the initial presentation to your client for their impression of you as a seller. Therefore you should invest heavily into the presentation. I am not saying bubble wrap and box every item but you should have paper stuffing carefully protect the item place it in a durable box that is new and not used and ship it to your customer. If you do enough volume it will be worth the expense long term and gained sales in my opinion. Box yes paper stuffing yes bubble wrap highly valued items. Hope this helps ...

Large amount of exclusive minifigures Excellent display piece Excellent play piece Low chance of being reissued Unique...Did I say unique? New movie to stir up interest from young fans...Plus a classic old movie to attract old fans. Can work with other Modulars from the looks of it...Big bonus if it does. Big Box...Big boxes sell! 20. I'm not sure you're going to get very far with the sale price. If they're actually listing those as sale prices, you won't get any discount, minus the 10% TRUTH. They won't apply any other discounts. Unless you can talk a manager into over-riding the system. Doubtful though. I have the most awesome TRU peeps, from stocker to manager and they couldn't do anything. In most instances, stacking discounts + TRUTH is better than a sale price.

  21. 40R5 or 42R5 I think the latter but PS, PC, TB, SOH and DS were all in that range.

  22. Not YOUR stores sorry but ISD is gone as of Saturday I left 2 ragged box AT-AT. I'll make it up to you on the back end with a free 3PO poly.

  23. Yep, has to be done in the store. But, you can sometimes get further discounts and at those prices, you won't lose a year from now on these sets. It's truly YMMV.

  24. very nice! I don't know how you feel about the Dectective's Office, but together with the PR it's my favorite right now. I haven't build the PR myself yet but I just bought it during 2xVIP. Today I did build The Big Bang Theory. The minifigs are superb! The set itself not so much. Don't get me wrong, it sure is a nice little set but I just feel as if some things are missing and should have been done better even if that would have meant putting a slightly higher price on it. I guess once I have the room for it I'll detach the stuff and put it into a modular building probably gonna have to build one just for this set ;-) The outside is nice enough so I guess it is possible.

  25. is there any history of LEGO producing calendars late Nov into early Dec? these have a use by date of dec 1st. not sure why they would allocate resources to making more, unless they are already on the ships/trucks. Regardless of history, it wouldn't make sense for them to produce these past 11/15.

  26. No, that's too rough. He really should have ordered a copy to be delivered to the place he's staying at, so he can read it on the return flight.

  29. I don't want to stoke up any fire again, but I couldn't help noticing and finding it curious/typical how an American has more respect for someone to just ignore him, while a German feels necessary to explain himself. As a neighbouring Dutchman who has ample experience with Germans and German culture it's funny to see this cultural difference played out. Or maybe I'm totally wrong here and see something that isn't there. In that case, please forget I said anything.

  31. and the fact that a good amount of people just search, they don't use categories. I have never once used a category to search something. Plus you would be missing stuff more than likely just as when you search completed versus sold. Even though they are both ended items you can get different things to come up on sold and completed. Another issue that has gone on for a long time. So for people that part out large sets say like Helicarrier which you could get close to $550 for awhile broken down. People listed the microfigs and accessories, the figs with the shield symbol, and the actual helicarrier. They are all still part of the set so what is the difference?? What parts of a set qualify for being sets. They aren't bulk lots of bricks as you can still give instructions to them and so forth. The mention of it circumventing ebays rules is not really true, you aren't allowed to spam titles but if you have something from set 76042 in your helicarrier partial auction it is still from 76042 and you do have a right to use it. The people that just throw a number in there to get exposure and have nothing to up for auction from that set is definitely a right to be upset but I just don't see it on the other. Everyones allowed an opinion and there is so many variables that people are always going to disagree over it so not a big deal in my book. Eventially Ebay could just change all the categories again to something more generic like building toys as the main one and then just LEGO Megabloks etc etc. So then what?? They've done it in other categories and it makes it much easier anyways. People who are looking for that specific item will always find a way to find it without categories.

  32. I looked and I found someone mentioning they had one in their catalog as well as a $10 off $50, but I don't see a code or pic of the coupon for any of those. And your link didn't work for me. I mentioned finding a $10 off $50. I'll try to grab the physical copy and post it later.

  35. I originally thought the GH would be better as it was only supposed to be for Thanksgiving weekend but now it's gonna be available in Europe for about a month. I think that will kill it. As for the HT, I'm not selling any HT below $30 so, mine can keep just fine...
