  1. This is the first time I've ever posted in this thread, but I feel a little like a kid in a candy store. I found myself an early Christmas present! Used on Craigslist...$700 with box and instructions. Was only missing about 12 pieces which we easily found in our collection. Out of 5922...that's pretty good! The light is nothing original, but really enhances nighttime display! Sits quite comfortably next to the Eiffel Tower. Now I just need the GC!

  2. Have you always wanted to organize your LEGO collection, but didn't know how to get started? Or, maybe you've already sorted your LEGO, but it's hard to find which box, bin or drawer has the part you need? I'm excited to share a massive update to the LEGO Brick Labels collection to include most of the bricks in a typical AFOL LEGO collection.Sample showing crisp images and a clear description of each LEGO Element. This updated collection includes 500 different labels organized into the following groups: Basic Elements (bricks, plates, tiles), SNOT Elements, Slopes, Wedges, Round, Curved, Clips/Hinges. Two additional groups are in “beta” because they aren’t quite complete: Technic, and ‘Other’. LEARN MORE: http://brickarchitect.com/labels/Sample showing Technic labels on an Akro-Mils 64-drawer cabinet. Here is a low-resolution preview of many of the labels contained in the collection. (Technic is not included in the preview images as it is in "beta".)You can learn more and download the labels at: http://brickarchitect.com/labels/Love the labels? Let me know! Comments, corrections or ideas how to make them better - I'd love to hear your feedback!Sincerely,Tom AlphinAuthor of The LEGO Architect, 2015, No Starch Press.

  3. Disagreeing is not the problem, the way how a person does is. There is a difference between saying "This is not my thing" to "This is dumb and so are the people who made this garbage". (The gist from that latter statement is one I'm used to reading for every original theme LEGO has released lately between Ninjago to now Nexo Knights from this community.) Internet simply reflects real life only in a digital 'faceless' fashion, these squabbles involving some facet of fandom happen all the time. Perhaps not as much as a discussion of politics, finances, and religion, (three agendas you learn to never talk about if you wish to keep any friends) but still there.

  4. 2 complete sets of 4 Bricktober 2015. (8 units total). $200 shipping included on ebay. Bought by a single German buyer through eBay GSP... I think buyer paid around US$262. I pocketed just over $20 on each set.

  5. Started the PR last night while handing out candy & just finished up. The detail on this is amazing. Of the 4 modulars I have done this is easily the nicest. Pains me to say that as I was determined to keep the GG as my fav but I just can't do it.

  8. I was picking them up at Legoland for 10% off. And then selling them on the local exchanges/Craigslist for $35, bundled with $4 TRU Bats. No fees, no shipping. Just met, exchange, and go I was making +2x my buy in, so I was happy with that.

  12. Hi Suey12 To prevent spam from getting into the forums, members have to post 3 times and have the posts approved. You've reached that threshold. You can also use the LEGO Lot Calculator here http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/lego_lot_price_calculator.cfm to get an idea of the overall value for yourself. Of course condition, instructions, rarity will all matter for the overall value. Also, remember that selling as a lot usually implies that the price of the whole is less than the sum of it's parts if you want a quick easy sale.

  13. I agree. This strikes me similar to the Simpsons House. That set to this day, remains a big unknown as an investment. I see this set in a similar fashion.

  16. You need to reply in some way or the other. If the issue at hand is closed, but you still have an open message thread, all you have to do is mark as " no response needed ". There is a check box for that . And that's that . keep in mind that Amazon keep track of those , so only use that once all relevant communication is done or you receive a suspicious message .

  18. 36 from Ohio. Software developer by trade, but now I spend most of my time managing a hybrid team of developers and analysts. Married to a wife who supports my hobby and business (except during Christmas time when it overtakes her office). We have two daughters and one son. My youngest daughter and son are into LEGO. All three kids are into Minecraft. My son still plays with LEGO but Minecraft dominates his time for the most part. I escaped the Dark Ages in 2013. My wife bought my son a Batcave on clearance at Walmart. We built it over and over again. Man that thing was fragile for a 3 year old. For years I thought it would be fun to collect toys for my son to stash away for his future, mostly for nostalgia and maybe some appreciation. I never really thought about LEGO, mostly just action figures and other toys. I still wish I had my Dinoriders collection from years ago. After we (re)built the Batcave 5 or 6 times, we started looking for other sets to purchase. He got a few as gifts (Fire Chief was his favorite...I have a sealed copy of that still). We quickly learned how expensive LEGO was so I started hunting for deals. That's when I discovered Brickpicker in October of 2013. We also got hooked on the BrickShow which introduced us to all the sets that I missed out on during my Dark Ages. This is when I realized there was some investment potential with LEGO. I started to browse Brickpicker on a daily basis and like most of us, became hooked. My first dose was the Walmart $10 price mistake. Sure, I feel a little guilty about it now but that was the beginning. Most of my items were cancelled but I had fun traveling to different Walmarts to pick up orders. It was rather entertaining. I still have a few of those sets because I didn't really learn to appreciate the art of the QFLL (still haven't). The kids really got into LEGO after that, mostly because I was buying a ton of it. We started a BrickLegacy YouTube channel but that didn't really take off. I still post on Instagram '@' BrickLegacy so if you are into social media I'd love to connect with you on there. I've really enjoyed my time on Brickpicker. I've met a few friends on here that really helped me get started. I'll never forget how everyone came together to help inspire a child with bone cancer. That experience was one of the highlights of my life. I wish we could create more of that on here. My venture so far had its ups and downs but I'm learning a lot. I'm still having fun and developing some friendships that wouldn't be possible without Brickpicker. I'm really looking forward to receiving my copy of the Ultimate Guide to Collectible LEGO Sets. I really enjoy learning about the investing side of this hobby. I appreciate everyone's support and responsiveness to my questions on the forum. Hopefully I've returned the favor in a minor way from time to time. I try to help, but I'm not really a savvy deal hunter. I've written a few scripts to pick off a few deals, but most of my intel is rather boring: buy exclusives, sell exclusives, and capitalize on some crazy deals from time to time. If you'd like to connect, please reach out to me on Instagram or PM here. I always enjoy talking about LEGO whether its investing, building or collecting. If you are just getting started, I'm happy to help you out.

  19. Some items have had their limits chaged as from Nov @ EU shop. Ferrari F40 and TBBT are now 5, which is the average limit for exclusives. 10 is the part for non exclusives. Tumbler: 2 Ecto: 2 Birds: 2 Wall E: 1 Temple of Airjitzu: 1 SW: 1 10249: 1 Red 5: 2

  22. Buy during double.VIP (could do online shortly, but widely available in store) makes every 10th one free or 10% off driving cost down to $9 each. Sell train promo for $25 locally (no fees, I've sold 3 already), drives cost down to around $6.50 each, we can round up to $7 for tax. Easy as pie to sell amazon for $20 W a $5 shipping credit. Buy box was in the $30-$35 range. Amazon takes about $4.5 in fees, but in cost less than $3 to ship firsr class package. Easy to net in the $18 range for a $7 buy in, even if you whack $4 off thay you are doubling up. There are plenty of steps.there that fall into YMMV, but these are the little tweaks that I was making a couple of bucks a sale last year to doubling up this year I sold around 25 this way and made $200+. I use the $0.50 6x6 boxes from WM and a label writer, super easy and quick to ship

  23. Check out the links for U.S. carrier's shipping cutoff times for this year. I think I am gonna close my store down on 12/13 since I will be out of town anyway for Xmas and I should be able to ship any orders that weekend to reach customers in time for Xmas. Hope this helps. I would think these would be updated at some point by the carriers to cover their butts. https://www.usps.com/holiday/holiday-shipping-dates.htm http://www.fedex.com/us/holiday/last-days-to-ship.html http://compass.ups.com/ups-holiday-calendar/

  25. I originally thought the GH would be better as it was only supposed to be for Thanksgiving weekend but now it's gonna be available in Europe for about a month. I think that will kill it. As for the HT, I'm not selling any HT below $30 so, mine can keep just fine...

  31. There are two I (currently) take issue with: one for a product that shines multi-colored lights on your house and another with Brett Favre hawking razors. I will add this "Gorilla Gym" to the list of angry emails I need to send. I, too, prefer not to poop in my recliner.

  32. Only if you feel like tossing a lot of money away. 428 offers on Amazon, people are now undercutting one another to dump stock. Lowest at 34.00, which is under RRP. I've come to the conclusion there are no holiday sets worth attempting to flip, unless its the train or gingerbread house. There's still profit for some at $34 each.

  36. According to LEGO... Firehouse Headquarters doors can open to fit the 21108 LEGO® Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1 inside! As far as I like Ecto to retire, I guess with that statement Ecto will be around a longer than the normal Ideas life cycle. Maybe I have to rethink my investment strategy

  38. My son and I completed our bricklink'd Super Star Destroyer. Love the build, and the size is pretty impressive. If I had one gripe, it's that the mini-figs cannot stand up in the faux-bridge they included. To pose them, you have to leave the cover off. To store them in there, they all have to be either sitting or laying down. I substituted a handful of internal parts due to cost, like the yellow right-angle brackets that cost around $5 each. Total cost was under $400 spread out over a few months (to avoid the wife radar), but we still need to buy 2 of the 5 mini-figs. The exercise of finding the parts, maximizing the orders, inventorying and sorting, and then finally building, was a VERY worthwhile and fun project. Almost like an archaeological dig of sorts.
