  7. Ok, so I'm posting this for Lego Rules since he inquired. Everything I ordered shipped... I'm too embarrassed to say the exact quantity, but needless to say it was over 10 each of the Exo, truck and train... and they all shipped, so there seems to be no rhyme or reason to Walmart Ban Hammer like Lego.com...

  11. Take pics or a video? I didn't take any video while going about it which is good as it would need a lot of editing because of all the foul language I was using. I'll take some pictures of the final product later today.

  14. You need to upload tracking through eBay, better yet purchase shipping through eBay and it will upload automatically. For any item under $750 if tracking shows delivered you should be covered. As the buyer has already contacted you I would call eBay and let them know what's up. Also if you shipped USPS don't be surprised if the item gets delivered in the next few days, sometimes they get ahead of themselves with marking packages delivered.

  16. My curiosity got the best of me today and I bought the 6085 Black Monarch's Castle that has been sitting on Blinq.com for the past few weeks after they lowered the price dramatically. I'll be surprised, but pretty happy if a NISB set from the 1980s arrives at my doorstep for $400.

  24. Kids don't buy, parents do. I think LEGO still moves inside of a safety zone. Also you have to take into consideration that most sets are priced in a normal price range from 10-120. That's how it's always been. More expensive sets are out there too, but PR or BB or DS is not an everyday toy for everyone but either collectors treat OR the ultimate present for kids. (Or maybe just another present if the parents have enough money ;-)).
  25. Has anyone else noticed that when you add either the Kwik-E-Mart or the Simpsons House to your LEGO Shop at Home cart the system automatically adds three free packs of The Simpsons series 2 to it? It looks like LEGO is trying to reduce their stock of Simpsons CMF, since using it as an incentive to move the Simpsons sets seems unlikely. At least I haven't seen any mention of this before.

Ok their tech support is looking into it. Looks like that EX1054 error and that Latest Posts widget might be related. For now the widget is totally disabled, so the error will hopefully go away. I will let you know when I hear something.
  28. We are continuing to push updates and fix page design to make the browsing experience a little easier to find what you are looking for. We will have a few updates to try and make finding sellers in your are a little easier. We completely changed the look of the Shop Local page to make it VERY easy to find sellers closer to where you live. https://www.brickclassifieds.com/find/local/ Below you will be able to see how many stores are currently in each region and then you will see the Top Stores within those regions. Hopefully this will make it a little easy to find a vendor near you.

  31. I shouldn't need to point that out, but you are being ridiculously serious here and shouldn't take anything written in this forum as 100% serious facts. I sometimes like to write in exaggerated ways as do many others on this forum, that's my point. Investing into this set is still something I am serious about though, even if the "Buy now! At least 10!" was me being exaggerating (which I though would be obvious enough for everyone). It's not me deciding who buys how many of these. Any big investor who has the money and believes in this set will end up with probably more than 1-2 though. Anybody who doesn't have that kind of money to spend won't buy 10 of these anyway. SSD has been a winner (although I still personally do not like the set that much). Even if emazers himself told you to buy 100 of these you probably wouldn't have. And buying more than you can handle would be the worst advice ever. If you believe in this set as I do, then I think there are many things speaking in favor of it. I'll be getting at least some for my personal portfolio. Many here have pointed out the Cons and Pros of this set. Seeing how many people are thrilled about this set even coming out makes me (personally!) think that this will be a winner. Facts against this set as investment: 1. It's expensive and if it backfires it backfires heavily. (so don't buy too many if you cannot afford it or invest in other sets that might be more promising --> modulars/star wars as these have proven themselves to behave relatively (RELATIVELY!) stable thus far) Yes I agree the Ecto-1 is more iconic, cheaper, saver, and probably more people want it because of the price and size 2. The franchise isn't as big as Star Wars or other movie franchises and the fanbase is probably way smaller. Thus kids also probably won't grow up to adults that absolutely want THIS set if they can have others... why? because it's "ONLY" been two fairly good movies (for that time) that many here find ridiculous though (it's comedy... they are meant to be that way!) and several animated TV-Shows and Games... Can't beat SW for sure but it's comparable to BTTF 3. The Set itself isn't that overwhelming for the price. (Which is something we do not know yet as we only have seen the exterior thus far!) Facts in favor for this set as investment: 1. It's expensive! Less people will buy it in big quantity. If it really does appreciate the steps it will take might be pretty big ones (like SSD for example, being a set that is in the same price range) Real collectors and fans won't care too much about it. And yes there are Ghostbuster fans and collectors and there will be Ghostbuster fans and collectors in the future (at least I'm pretty sure of that even though I cannot prove it). 2. The franchise isn't half-bad and almost everybody knows the catchy song :-P But seriously: The Franchise isn't half-bad! I can imagine somebody coming up with GB in the future again (as they have done in the past... more so than with BTTF by the way!). 3. The Set is pretty accurate when it comes to the design of the exterior. It includes really great minifigures! (I guess you can possible sell them for around 100). I'm betting they will include a fantastic interior with many nice details and hopefully even some printed pieces. But I'm sure that for the price and piece count the interior must have a lot of nice details and an overall satisfying design. If the interior is dull: DO NOT INVEST in this set PERIOD! So all in all I'm pretty sure that compared to the Helicarrier this Set will be better suited for my tastes. What's the Helicarrier? Some random not so important battle station mostly known from the Avengers franchise. You can't even add it to your LEGO town. It's mostly just a standalone piece. 4. GBHQ is a standalone piece you can nicely display (and it will be a guaranteed eye-catcher). At the same time you can include it to your LEGO town. So it is appealing to both: Serious LEGO collectors and other Ghostbuster-Fans as well as LEGO AFOL that like to build their towns. Probably it will even have enough potential to be desireable for AFOL hat create MOCs. 5. Not only the price point but also the two totally different perceptions and evaluations of this set will (probably and hopefully) make it less hoarded. Last but not least: If you seriously take any advice from any random stranger on the internet without questioning it you should not only reconsider your investment strategy. (Only to make this absolutely clear: This is not aimed at anyone in particular!)

  35. I'll come out and say I don't like tipping. I do it because that's the system we have, but I don't like and I don't agree with it. Pay your people for their work, don't make me decide how much money someone takes home on any given week. Most people *hate* tipping. It is of my opinion that most people would pay more for a meal if they didn't have to tip. Exactly. If you can't stay in business unless you pay your workers slave wages, then you shouldn't be in business at all. A server's ability to eat and pay rent shouldn't be dependent on the mood of the restaurant patron. I don't understand this logic at all. Your customer is paying either way, they either pay more up front for your service, or they pay that money in the form of a tip. Why put it on the customer to decide how much your employees get paid? Also, doesn't matter if you're planning on being European or not, if another country has a different way of doing things, and it ends up being better for both businesses and employees, why not take a look at that and see if we can benefit from a similar system?

  37. I think that when they implemented lower pricing for the GIPSI countries they confused Germany with Greece!
  38. I like what you did there on top with the parapet. Also using the furrowed bricks is gives a nice effect. Probably you used grey bricks because you have them otherwise I would advice you to use white bricks instead of the grey bricks as I feel that pink and white harmonize better.
  39. Believe me, I would be upset too. It's super annoying to me and must be even more so for the user. It will all be straightened out this week though. Features will be back, it will look better, be usable. Brickfolio pages will be updated next week hopefully with the addition of adding in sold profit numbers and stuff. So good things finally coming, I just need to make sure the data issues are sorted out. I had to let it run over night, that is the hard part, you don't get to see everything you need to instantly. I will really dig into it all tonight when I get home from work.
  40. Thank you for your hard work. It is much appreciated.
  41. I do suspect sometimes that Jeff & Ed think "Why do we bother" when all we do is complain whenever they try something new I assume this is an update in progress. The UK prices do seem low. For example 10197 reads GBP203 USD380. I thought this might be a US price in £££ terms but it's not (380 / 1.53 is £248). I have noticed, something similar with other sets; 10193 & 10211 are both unusually down. I am wondering if the filtering of non set sales is not active. These lower prices do not correspond to what appears to be happening on Ebay UK. I agree with valenciaeric that putting back search box would be handy otherwise you are continually scrolling back and forward through pages. Time consuming if you are on a slow connection. When I used to hover over the graph points the price for that month used to pop up. Which was helpful. A last updated date would be nice (although this was not on the last version ) I disagree with valenciaeric in whether the graphs are useful. They are and I use them. I am missing the number of sales graph numbers graph. I am wondering if it could be combined with the Sales history graph to save space. Lastly, all the Amazon links say Amazon.com but each points to the correct Amazon site. This is particularly confusing for the EU sites that all use the Euro. All in all I think the new payout is an improvement on the old. It looks a lot less cluttered.
  42. I would venture to say that the US has had it good for a while now and that TLG are slowly trying to balance worldwide prices. 170 USD at an exchange rate of 1.12 USD/EUR brings you in line with the cheapest Eurozone prices whereas before many sets were at 1 USD / 1 EUR hence our endless moaning about preferential treatment as discounts also tend to be better over there. I think that apart from the RRP increase,it is the gradual trimmig of the latter that is making the product more expensive. However, it is supply and demand and if we benefit from it on the secondary market, TLG surely feels their product is underpriced on the new market. Perhaps when demand falls off and Lego becomes less fashionable, things will change but that would also be bad news for us. Higher new prices also make our inflated ones easier to swallow.
  43. I hoped for this thread to pick up steam a little bit faster but I'll try to keep it up posting my contribution to the castle goes to space contest in detail. After coming out of my dark ages I really wanted to build some MOCs, but due to time issues (you all might know these...) I just recently started to build MOCs. Thanks to the castle goes to space thread that Orkking shared with out I found the motivation to build my second and third MOC so I wanted to share them with you! As kid I always loved knights! Of course I also loved Space! So this topic is great for me. I always wanted to have Star Wars LEGO when I was a kid, but there was none. Only later the first SW sets came out and now they have plenty of them and they are all great! (These actually brought me out of my dark ages!). On the other hand I feel that the theme castle is being neglected but for the recently retired Lord of the Ring theme. (NEXO Knights might join castle and space... but I'm not really looking forward to what I have seen so far of it... but how fitting to find a castle goes to space thread here ). So what did I build? Here is my first contribution to this topic: It is based on one set I actually still own that goes by the name Royal Drawbridge. (LINK: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/6078_Royal_Drawbridge) After seeing Leopolds very impressive space version of Drawbridge Defense I didn't want to build anything too similar so I decided on another take (even though that might take out some of the "space"). In Star Wars the Rebels rely on camouflage and hit and run missions. A little bit like the protagonists in The Hobbit (you'll probably get the hint). So I built them an outpost on some forrest planet. The big green "walls" on the top are radar devices that can also be used as radar jammers in the closer area to keep the imperials in the dark. They represent the walls of the Royal Drawbridge. In a set like this I couln't find a satisfying solution to building the upper part of the royal drawbridge alternate version so I decided for a high reaching radar instead that is well fitted for space communication. (And also allows us to see that this is more than just a pile of dirt or a fallen tree there in the woods... even though it is well enough disguised so the imperials won't notice). The drawbridge itself is now a secret entrance that serves as entrance/exit for a speeder bike. With two more entrances at the sides that cover the openings where there are iron bars in the drawbridge set. The "falling" play feature of the bridge is translated into a hidden hatch (hope that's the correct word in english) with a ladder on it so the rebels can enter and exit their hidden outpost from above. Feel free to discover what became of the DRAGON knight and the royal knights (A skeleton or something similiar didn't fit into my vision of this MOC sorry... ) https://www.flickr.com/photos/136641789 ... 946744053/ And as you can see on the second picture (and if you are interested some other pictures on flickr) you can take it all rather easily apart and inside is an actual base hidden. This was important to me, since it should be a great set on it's own with nice play features https://www.flickr.com/photos/136641789 ... 946744053/
