The main Daily Deal thread that has been here for so long is without a doubt dominated by US deals and discounts. Canada pokes in there from time to time and then of course an occasional deal from a European region makes it's way in there. Obviously this does not really work well for non US regions and we want to try and fix this. This thread here will become the go to place to post deals for the UK, European countries and for now, just about anywhere else until we see the need to give a region another thread if it takes off. We completely understand that it would have been futile or intimidating to throw bits of information for German deals in a US dominated thread and we think will allow all of our Non US members to benefit from each other's discount and deal knowledge. We will do our best to get deal alerts in this thread as much as possible. We hope this becomes as successful as the other thread for everyone.12 points

This was the most appropriate thread I could think of to post this, the USPS has posted some rate increase information that is proposed to start January 2016. In short, it's a double digit percentage increase across the board. One thing that stands out is First Class Package rates. Although increasing 12.8%, the weight limit moves from 13oz to 16oz. So there is some good mixed in with the bad (the rate increase). There is a pretty good blog post about it here: http://blog.stamps.com/2015/10/22/usps-announces-postage-rate-increase-starts-january-17-2016/5 points

Most folks buy items as gifts that get opened and they move on . They don't go back and check prices nor do they bother with returns . Again key word is most.3 points

Can you guys stop arguing about how many five dollar bills you're making or not making? Seriously it's been said about 30 times in this thread and it's annoying. I'm going to start deleting posts that argue about it because they add absolutely ZERO value at this point and I'm not embellishing that!3 points

I think the best deal I actually ever had on LEGO was finding BrickPicker back in 2012. I can't think any deal that was really better than this.3 points

Back several years ago, Chicago Brick Convention: everyone who attended received an evening pass to shop in one of the two Chicago land Lego stores. Everything had some damage to the boxes, a lot to very little. I was one of the 1st ones to draw a early number to get in the store. I picked several goodies, i did miss the death star. Everything was 1/2 price. I grabed a Green Grocer for $75.00, I already had one for our town collection. 2 months ago, on e-bay, it sold for $1,200 plus shipping to Singapore, a good customer of mine. We were both Happy, Happy, Happy!!!3 points

I'm one of those that it isn't "clear" at all that these sets aren't going to retire soon. I know, call me crazy, call me a rookie, etc., but I'm just not sure these aren't done. I have a very modest holding of each compared to some and do plan on selling most for the Christmas frenzy, but I don't think buying anything that includes "LEGO" & "Dinosaurs" as wasting money. This isn't directed at you, but I'm tired of people making generalized statements like " there is plenty of sets that fan be bought right now that will retire this year and can be sold next year." Sure, I bet there are, which ones? My list of active sets shows right at 475. Tell me, which of these 475 are getting ready to retire and should be bought now and sold next year for a better return than RE, RR, TRex, or IRex. I can predict there will be 10 that does so simply because the odds say that at least 2.1% of all active sets will outperform those sets. But who benefits from that? TELL me the sets I should be pouring my money into RIGHT NOW and holding until next year that would be better than pouring the same money into these sets, selling by Christmas, and then buying those same sets you would purchase now in their stead. That would be greatly appreciated.2 points

can't get nothing by you. Heck I can't even email people my address. It **** out my state abbreviation. Apparently thinks I'm writing something derogatory by using the state abbreviation of Georgia. Which by the way is the name of a city in Georgia too of which a cow farmer got denied his license by the government because there system kicked it out too.2 points

$500 on a dudes personal collection. Mostly everything was new without box. Looks like he just threw away the boxes and kept the sets unbuilt unopened. Had old castle, samurai, ninja, Star Wars, Technic, Harry Potter etc. sold 95% of them for well over $3000.2 points

Exactly. People are not always logical and often let emotions cloud their rational thinking. There's something special about the feeling of 'being the person who opens the box for the first time since it left the factory'. It's an emotion that beats other rational factors. Of course it really depends on what the buyer wants to do with the set. Taking myself as an example: if I buy a set with the intention to sell it again for a profit sometime in the future, then I want a MISB set. On the other hand, if I plan to open the box anyway because I want to build it myself, then I only care that the set is complete and in good condition. An opened box with sealed bags will be fine for me in that case.1 point

why would this set perform this year as it did last year ? It is much more hoarderd and more available than last year by a wide margin . folks were buying by the three digits (exaggeration) on Walmart that one time and it lasted for hours.1 point

Today I made my best deal on German ebay-kleinanzeigen. Don't know if the US guys knows this platform. Just bought one 76042 Helicarrier sealed and MISB for just 250€. Our German retail price is about 349€. So I saved truly 99€ on an UCS model which is OOS at this time know!!! [emoji16][emoji2] That's freakin good I think. Now I'm thinking of should I build it or should I wait and sell it with an very nice profit at christmas. Or should I wait until it's done and EOL? Maybe this won't be long?! Greetings from Germany, Chris1 point

Finished the Bricktober sets from 2015 today with the TRU store. I am really surprised at the size difference between these and last year's sets but I much prefer the size of this year. I feel like the 2015 builds were more complex and used nicer bricks and in better colors. I took some photos of size for comparison. My favorite is the trains stain mostly because of the colors with the TRU store a very close second.1 point

That just sounds weird to me. I mean how much more 'Christmassy' can you get than the fat guy in a red suit's unsanctioned sweat shop employed by a handful of vertically challenged individuals working their butts off throughout the entire year with all effort directed towards only one day with him ultimately getting the credit and praise worldwide. It's simply mindboggling.1 point

I met this guy at the mall...and told him that I want 375 Yellow Castle. He just brought it to me, for free. All I had to do was be "good" for the year. What a joke. I totally was bad a couple of times. I Miss that guy...what a sucker, totally ripped him for some other free stuff too. Loser.1 point
