  1. Saw a flat of Lego at my TRU today and looks like the Bricktober sets are similar to last year's. Sorry if this is already posted, couldn't find anything on my phone.
  2. It's VD & PEE in these parts...
  3. Perhaps time to rename the thread "Are fruitcakes running Ebay recently?"
  4. The only time anyone ever wanted VD to come back
  5. perhaps they want you to call to let you know that your hammer is also in stock as well.
  6. I really don't see the big deal. If you accept Paypal as payment you take 180 day returns. 30 days is standard for online retailers. You can still state no returns and give up the TRS discount, but in the end ebay and paypal policy trump your no return policy so you may as well sign up for the 30 days and get some discount. Glad they are finally taking a look at shipping time, and not postage printing time. 50% of my ebay purchases the sellers print postage and then wait one week to ship.
  7. Only if you like money...
  8. I'm thinking there's not gonna be a lot of top rated sellers...
  9. Got bored this evening and found a fun use for my Force Friday brick from TRU: you can swap it out on the MF for the smuggling compartment and fits perfectly!
  10. For several years, I have felt like Ebay is attempting to compete with Amazon by trying to force their sellers to adopt the same things that Amazon offers. But unlike Amazon, none of the product or expensive shipping or employees are theirs. They are a marketplace who is trying to pretend that they are a big box retailer. It's ridiculous of them to make unilateral decisions for a very diverse cross section of users just because they monopolize the marketplace.
  11. How bout the people that kept going back to Ross to pick up VD again...?
  12. using my tax exempt certificate is time consuming at tru and I usually have a lot of items to buy. Also I am not one to "hog" the cashier and have other customers wait in line behind me, many with kids and infants especially when they only have 2 registers open . Few dollars saved here and there isn't worth aggravating the employee or the customers . In the rare occasion I do multiple transactions , I usually go to the back of the line or walk around the store till the lines are gone .
  13. A lonely mountain of 79018 sets at TRU Times Square two nights ago...didn't even bother to check the mark up.
  14. Seems to me that eBay is trying to "not be the bad guy" in the returns policy. I know PayPal does 180 days but that's not for "buyer changed their mind" type of reasons such as a general 30 days return policy. I still won't take returns "just because", I could care less about the discount... I just don't believe that eBay buyers deserve that from a small time seller like myself.

Honestly I think there is a very real possibility that new boxes have nothing to do with what is retiring and what they will produce more of in the future. The new boxes are for the Creator line only as far as I can tell. So TLG has a new Creator logo design and they want uniformity in their Creator sets; the sets they just released and the sets they are about to retire. Not a big deal. I don't think TLG is saying to itself: "we have to produce x thousand more of x sets (Tower Bridge, Palace Cinema, T1, etc) because we just changed our logo!" I think they will go EOL at the exact same times as they otherwise would have.
  16. Yeah and I'm the one who is hated on and called the mean old grumpy MOD for calling those people out.......;)
  17. The Duggars have Lego sharing issues.
  18. People are now getting banned outside the US. Buying five of this set in particular could cause red flags to be raised. It is an awesome set that will be highly sought after this Holiday season. Plus, why would a person need five of these sets unless they were being resold? A giant MOC? Doubt it. Five kids? Really!?! LOL

The worst part is the f-ing blue rubber bands that they used, it makes no sense lol and a few of my stickers showed up with imperfections so way to go LEGO quality control
  20. I'm pretty sure there have been a couple Euro bans now as well.
  21. Did you skip childhood? Kids love dinosaurs, and this is one of the most successful movies ever made and now Lego's first kick at this franchise. I don't see how dinosaurs can't yield much money. Buying and holding dinos seems far more lucrative than most superhero sets since they are now regularly recycling the same characters, plus you can quick flip them right now
  22. 76035 Jokerland for 87 euro and a sealed box of series 14 Monster Minifigures for 159 euro.
  23. Yeah i've been selling bundles of creator and starter sets which I picked up at 1.70 each. Been selling them BIN in bundles of 4 @ £24.95. Thought I'd put a few bundles on auction at .99p start > last 2 have sold for + £30. The wonders of ebay eh. My mate had an even better one though. He had some old converse on BIN or best offer @ £13. Best offer comes in at £16 . ...accepted thanks.
  24. Halloween is far different than Easter and Valentines day. People spend money on this holiday for decorations. This set is adorable. This set is one of the few traditional Lego sets to feature a girl as the main (only) character. This set will have a limited run as it is seasonal. This set is a good value at a $9.99 entry point. This set will be far more collectible than the Monster minifigures are at the end of the day. The masses, will not be aware of this set as it is limited distribution. All IMHO but I bought five from SAH and plan to add five more from a B&M store close by. The pumpkin and the bat were okay but I wasn't moved by them. This one grabbed at me as soon as I saw it.
  25. will take the return policy any day after no more feedback, resolved cases, low DSR and other BS. This is a huge win for sellers. If someone is going to return they will find a way regardless so its not like it will change much. The score though affects you much more and not having that anymore is a big win. Never had a cancelled transaction and a seller unresolved case is almost 0 as well so TRS will be a walk in the park.
  26. jakarta and singapore. looks like some one needs to expand their hunting route. only noobs shop in north america...
  27. It's not a matter of being able to offer a 30-day return, it's that 30 days is the new minimum. Until this goes in effect, the minimum is 14 days. I don't mind 14 days. I believe it's a bit ridiculous myself, but I offer it as a means to be a top rated seller. But 30 days? I don't think so. Honestly, shouldn't a buyer know within 30 seconds of opening a box if it needs to be returned? If I do this new 30 day return policy, I will have some strict rules listed in my ads, so that only a shipping company mistake will be returnable. I'm thinking along the lines of, "Returns will only be allowed for items not matching description or damaged product. If shipping box is damaged, please take pictures of box before opening."
  28. That's a joke, most actual retailers don't offer 30 days... Could be a nightmare for the QF'rs? Things being returned when it becomes available again, cheaper.
  29. Reply and help them out because it didn't fit your TV and it was an honest mistake. I would want the same courtesy if I were the seller.
  30. Grabbed a Poe's X-Wing for $45 and a Friends Advent Calendar for $21 at TRU. TRUTH, plus 20% off, plus $20 in Rewards. I wasn't going to pick up any SW sets right now, but at $45, and having a bad day at work, I decided I'd do it.
  31. Class is in session . Pay attention now :
  32. Only the popular guys get to get the cheerleaders.
  33. Great technique, gives an excellent effect.
  34. I think he is running for US president now.
  35. Let's talk about scale for a minute...
  36. Agreed, but this would also be true...
  37. Turns out that I got the price wrong. There was a 30% discount on all the sets, so each FW was selling for about $74 usd. Thats 26% off US rrp! There were abt 20 sets in total, so i wiped all of them
  38. It wasn't that davem111 was wrong or right about telling us what he was told... It's that he was being a complete jerk about it. He was asked to be "nice" and refused so he was "modded." Funny though that it was ok to stop him and his antics....
  39. Just finished my 4th and 5th sets, piecing together 6 to keep Will be fun to see what happens
  40. From Target this afternoon ... 204-00-0254 76019 Starblaster Showdown $5.38 x 4

  42. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
  43. at least one thing is for sure ... once this set sells out and is EOL, its money!
  44. I'm going with the Chrysler Building for New York. There are a lot of pictures of Adam Reed Tucker working on sets in the other various architecture sets and in articles - and there is a nice looking Chrysler Building design in the background that looks like it could fit that price point. Side note - another Burj Kahlifa is stupid. IMO the first one is by far one the worst builds and designs in the entire architecture line - and I say this as I stare at it on my shelf next to my UN building and Sydney Opera House - man it's lame. If they do another Dubai based set, I would hope it's the Burj Al Arab, by far on the most appealing buildings in that city. There was a nice MOC posted in Lego Ideas of it - but it never got a lot of votes and the time expired.
