Since I was able to get all of the Series 14 Monsters Minifigures, I was inspired to start on the annual build of the Haunted House. After a late night of building, it is complete. Now the Halloween scene will have a lot of fun, new characters!4 points

Built the Volvo 350 yesterday, which should have been done the day before, but I forgot a piece and didn't realize until the end. Ripped it apart and rebuilt it again. I hate it when bags are not numbered! Pretty straight forward to build, much easier than the MB Aroc. Really enjoyed playing with all the functions with my daughter. Also built the shuttle Tyderium, which was underwhelming.4 points

Well I guess I am now getting a little too much "local" attention as today one of my " contacts" send me a struggling new investor, he had this list lot and was asking 700 for it.... I checked the boxes, seals and weight and all checked out....He recently started buying lego, but he went over his head..... Here it is...... now they are safe with me...3 points

I'm an optimist on these but if anything...$500 is more ridiculous than $250. Good for you on the sale though.3 points

I would like to thank Jon from Minifigures Plus for responding with images of what we should expect. I for one will keep my order as it was. I might even buy more. Having a sealed box of these sets mean very little difference (if any) if the sets will arrive in a LEGO shipping box as shown above. This is not the Mr. Gold Series 10 CMF sealed box which could mean something. These figures will be worth more broken down anyway, so there is no real reason not to buy it. I also get the feeling these might be hard to come by very soon, so cancelling the order is risky IMO.3 points

Everyone remember Technic set 42025? Great set to be sure, but IMO in need of some improvements. I have documented more about the changes and the process of making the changes along with pics at: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/418746#reviews but briefly, here are some pics and video of the changes. Check it out!2 points

You should have at least on EV & TB, maybe a DS, if you're a risk-taker. A little too early for Slave I or Tie Fighter...2 points

yeah, I'm jealous of the euros. Especially when things like the Super Star Destroyer are completely retired in the US and they ask questions like "Should I pick this up I feel like there's more time and 100 at my local store, so I'll just wait another 6 months. "1 point

Yeah it was 125 or best offer too...put in an offer of 115, but thought better of it and just bought it outright. Have learned the hard way that it's best to get that used copy early on sets I like and want to build.1 point

You can probably attach more technic beams to make the landing gear taller to accommodate the landing ramp. Those landing gears can be detached but it is rather hard to with 1 hand holding the MF1 point

You just keep staking them all the way up I wouldnt mind having at least 10 but would aim for 201 point

Well of course. What good is a grounded MF ???? Seriously, those 4 landing gears + flick missiles make it very hard to hold it from the bottom. Btw, I also counted getting rid of the flick missiles as improvement1 point

It was the intro from the G.I. Joe movie in 1987. I picked it for quality of film posted on YouTube ....and cause what the heck. KRE-O's plastic quality is quite good and just about on LEGO's own standards. Their figures are a little strange in shape but then again the minifigure isn't exactly a true representation of the human form anyway. I remember the G.I Joe sets and the designs of the builds & characters are good in my opinion; possibly the best of the KRE-O line. Their Dungeons & Dragons line was also well done but the whole theme came across all as army/fort builders.1 point

The TRU I went to sold out in a day, Today I found a case at WM, I dug through looking for SPider Lady and squarefoot. Turns out, I couldn't remember what to search for on Squarefoot, and I spent most of my time searching for the 3 zombie cheerleaders.also forgot to look for more cat lady. I think I got 2 pirate, 2 businessman,1 wacky witch,2 spider lady, 3 cheerleader, and 2 randoms that may or may not be squarefoot. EDIT: First one I opened was squarefoot. all good1 point

Minifig train is still rolling - this weekend I've sold 5 sets of Series 14, another set of Series 13, a Series 8 set and a Simpsons Series 2 set. Have previous minifig series releases similarly sparked interest in past series or is this the magic that is series 14?1 point

Sure Both Simpsons sets are a must for any Lego Investor, why wouldn't you think they will be duds, Simpsons known worldwide and always be a great money maker. Don't regret not having any.1 point

I love love love the Simpsons. I watch new episodes when they are being broadcase - last season. That being said,I'm totally unsure of how these will be as an investment. So far demand has just not been there. Guessing that Simpsons house is underhoarded, so that part of the equation may be in the investors favor but its just not at all clear to me how much demand there is. compare that to Star Wars where there is just an amazing energy and interest. Hard to justify putting a lot of equity towards a theme like Simpsons when you have other options like modulars, star wars UCS, Tumbler, Ferris wheel, ideas (ecto wall) even considering the increased competition. the growth of new fans in Star Wars will be several orders of magnitude higher than Simpsons' fan growth. obviously you can see my bias here towards Star Wars... Not a bad idea to have a few of the Simpson's sets - I think each new set that comes out will bump the value of previous ones, but I think going deep on this theme is much much less a sure thing than other options.1 point

The last known distribution variance that I have found was series 3 when TLG had a second later distribution with only 2 fishermen per box. Haha, of course! ...No, the size difference is not even a quarter of an inch. You have to look closely.1 point

For anyone still wishing to continue the debate on smooshing practices and/or the subject of "new or used" can do so over in the "Ethics, Investment Methods and Practices" thread. All such posts here have been moved over there and so should any further discussion. I like the sound of that.1 point

I disagree. These generic bones most resemble a human femur. The head sticks out way more than that of a humerus, and the greater trochanter is more pronounced than the greater tubercle of a humerus. The condyles are more like the generic shape compared to the epicondyles of a humerus. Plus the trochlea and capitulum on the distal end of the humerus give it a weird shape that isn't two nicely rounded projections like the femoral condyles. It's a leg bone. (I think it could even possibly resemble a metacarpal, but that would be one big creature eaten by the werewolf so I'm going with leg bone.)1 point

I agree and I don't wait on many, but there are definitely those that I don't stock up on until they hit clearance prices. I think TFA will be in your clearance aisle, although the Millennium Falcon will sell fast and furious this year.1 point
