Built the Louvre last night and enjoyed it. Parts were tedious and there are a bunch of tiny, tiny pieces (not to mention some are transparent which creates its own problem) but the build was rewarding. I admit I'm an architecture nerd, not a trained one, but more like "look at building...building pretty" edit: if I ever pass I.M. Pei on the street, I'm punching that guy in the back of the head.5 points

On the flip side, lots of people actually WANT those Pet Shops and Red Fives, whereas many don't care about an ultra agents set and never will.5 points

There is no way I would buy a Haunted House for $400 now, and returning a Death Star to get one to me is a big mistake. The Death Star will rise fast when it retires in a few months or so, just look of all the crap I heard when I kept saying get SSD,HH, etc. Now with 46 SSD and 62 HH and I do have 56 DS most thought I was crazy. Picked-up & built mine last night (10 of them on the shelf @ PlayValue - Ottawa/Stittsville) I must say it's an entirely enjoyable build! & makes a great desk companion. 5 +ve co-worker comments in the first hour today - he really stands out! I had no issues with bad printing or scuffs on any parts. The head assembly - although I can see where some folks would have issues with it, was just fine on mine, it does depend allot on how you have it positioned & it probably won't stand up so well for serious play. (the head is abit heavy for the joint so you hafta set it back abit) definitely worth having!3 points

They just have a crappy IT team... it's says it's the SKU selector so somebody obviously messed up and put in a second SKU (box redesign? ). Not sure I've ever seen a LEGO set page with options. I wonder if it's for something like Tshirt sizes?3 points

Wall-E $69.99 (CDN) - Gee I haven't paid retail in a long time (local toy shop), but definitely worth it! 36x random SW mini's on sale @$5.oo (reg $12) didn't even really look to see what ones they were yet. (always kinda fun to arm-swoosh an entire shelf into a cart) must have been there for awhile as nearly all the rest of the shelves were all but empty save a few turtle sets & messed up Simpsons II minifigs. 3x turtle layers at WM $40.oo off2 points

I'm not saying I know for sure but I can't really see a 400 dollar set hoarded as much as you think. Don't get me wrong there are some big ballers here but most of them don't care for the DS as an investment so much as to have 50. The other thing is that this thing is a beast to store......I have 5 and they take up more room than I would like.2 points

People have been expressing their concerns about the 10179 for years. When it hit $1000, people said it would never reach $2000. When it hit $2000, it would never hit $3000 and so on. The 10179 is a STAR WARS 30th Anniversary set, so it cannot be "remade" exactly. Wealthy LEGO fans will want the new one and the old one. The growth of the set will plateau at some point. Will it be $5000 or $10000 is the question.2 points

50% off the Ultra Agents line in Target. online and in store i guess. The theme should be gone for good this time.2 points

I doubt it. Almost all of the completed sales in the past month are from one seller, a member here, with multiple listings and I was able to sneak a few sales in. 80% or more of the buyers of this set on eBay are from outside the USA where the set is not available and TRU online/eBay are not an option unless they are using a FF. I sold all but one of mine using GSP. It's a great set, fun build, and looks awesome but I don't see it getting over $150 people will just buy something else. However I did think about buying all of these from TRU a few weeks ago the last time it went to Sold Out at LEGO Shop at Home but luckily my backers were indecisive and by the time the decision was made to pass it returned. I still think it screams buy me2 points

All you guys that are on Panic Mode all making a mistake, why pay top dollar, and act like the world is ending , these sets are coming, coming back, there will be plenty of these, if you are buying for quick flips well great, but long term investors should stop the panic buying, these sets have a long long way to go. "Now the Raptor Escape is another thing, Only Lego and Walmart no what there Strategy is." As for me I have 15 of the 75919, paid $83-$100, and except for a few Raptor Escape's the 75919 is the only set that I will be loading up on. Everytime somebody see's sold out on the Lego site right away the sets done, take the Sea Cow, last week Sold Out, its done not coming back, few days later back again and you can buy 5. Sold out does not mean crap. Ed2 points

Like Hawkeye, I have made it a goal to hit 25 sales transactions on Amazon before 31 Oct. I only started selling on Amazon at the beginning of Aug and have had 16 sales thus far, with 3 of them being since yesterday. 3 down, 22 more to go, LOL! It doesn't help that none of my Amazon buyers have left feedback so I'm still considered a "New Seller". I'm thankful though that I still get some sales regardless of not having any feedback on Amazon. I am a Top Rated Seller on eBay and move pretty good volume there but Amazon is another beast that I do not want to miss the opportunity to sell my items on during the holidays.1 point

From Brickfan: A few days ago, I reported that the upcoming LEGO Ideas WALL·E (21303) set was possibly being delayed due to an issue with the build. There wasn’t any specifics of what the issue was or how long the release would be delayed because there hasn’t been an official statement by LEGO about it. However, they did mention on Twitter that it would be slightly delayed at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home but you can find it at other retailers like Toys R Us and such. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the set will be available on September 21 but I’m not sure where the source is for that date. I’ve also heard that it might available on September 27. As far as I know, the set is being delayed indefinitely. The issue in question is the head/neck area where the head connects to the neck. The neck connection isn’t able to support the weight of the head and it will swing backwards every time you tilt the head up. The only problem with you getting it early is that you won’t have the the parts needed to stabilize the head. A few people who already have purchased WALL·E have contacted LEGO Customer Service and they are being sent parts 4211695 and 4265484 to help alleviate the problem but it doesn’t seem to make sense because they only further support the neck more but doesn’t really solve the problem with the joint in the neck holding the head as it will still swing backwards due to lack of friction. I’ll try to gather more information and report them as they come.1 point

I would like to add that I am not trying to stir up some huge debate over this. I was simply expressing my concerns about the future of the set, how I was stupid for passing on it early on, and that I have reservations about paying more than 2k for it. I felt that my opinion would be important to the investors because I am your target market, an AFOL with disposable income...1 point

You know, the more I think about it, the more it could make sense for Lego to re-release it. Although, I think they would update an older set first. *cough*ISD*cough* I do believe the price on this set is stupid astronomical, and I bricklinked it a while ago for a reasonable price, all original, but there is no way I do that now. I've seen many arguments saying this set would be way more than $500 for a 5100 piece set, and I don't really agree with that honestly. Lego on the larger sets can still manage a good average of $.10 a piece. So although it won't be the exact same thing, if they released a $500 MF it surely could be very close to a 5000 piece set. Granted that a lot of sets have gone up in price, but I just don't understand how someone could think that it would be such a significantly smaller set for a similar price. On that note, the idea that the older MF will significantly drop is just balderdash. Yes there will be a market correction, especially if they release at least a $400/4000ish piece MF. But it won't be something as significant as $1200 as the OP suggests. I could expect to see around a $1000 drop in overall price, because a good chunk of the people that were saving etc for the original UCS, will go out and buy one for retail. That's not always the case, but it will happen. Also, another factor in the price dropping but still remaining high is scarcity as well. I highly, highly, highly doubt there is just a huge horde of people with these stashed away. That alone will help keep the prices from completely bottoming out.1 point

I try to look at the numbers side of things so I am glad there are a lot of people sleeping on this set. I'm buying 2 every Thursday till there gone. And on Tuesdays cuz I bought one today.1 point

Another UK article came out based on Telegraph UK article. This author added a little extra point of view as well. We knew it! Why buying Lego is better than gold, savings, houses and shares And I REALLY want this vending machine!!!!1 point
