I have no idea what the "average full time bricklinker" makes. I know what we make and I'm not telling. My husband and I put in about 70 or so hours per week between the two of us, we have two part time employees who put in about 10 or 15 hours per week (one of those we'll be increasing hours for soon). We make enough to stay beforehand with our bills and enjoy some of the elegancies of life. We anticipate our income going up over the next three years. We do not anticipate the ability to purchase a cozy summer place in the Seychelles. Our "warehouse" is a 15 x 30 (I think) storage unit where we spend between 2 and 4 hours per day. Our sorting room is our dining room, where we never dine. Our office is in our bedroom where we have two computer work stations and a king-sized bed that our 3 Chihuahuas graciously allow us to share with them. I've never liked working for other people so when I've had the choice I don't, but most people with a marketable education or some kind of skilled labor would easily be able to make as much as we do and many could make more. Being able to coddle my middle-aged white woman minor health issues, take an afternoon nap anytime I want, and basically organize my schedule however I like so long as I put in enough hours each week, makes the enterprise very worth it to me and has since I was a young stay at home mom with a used book business on eBay.4 points

So you don't want to ask but then you asked? I'm up to about 3.5 full time employees to support about 800-900 orders a month. It's a LOT of labor to keep a high volume store running.4 points

I don't play the return game and neither should any re-sellers. The system is not meant to be used that way. I buy what I can afford to lose; no different than playing blackjack in the casino. I am sure the dealer will not return your money because you made a bad judgement call after you bust. I am sitting on over 50 of these. I will be begin to unload them at 2x. I do believe this set will be capped by 75917 just because of better minifigs plus a vehicle that was in the movie.4 points

I am excited to share another in-depth look at an amazing LEGO Architecture creation, a minifigure-scale model of the Maggie's Centre in Newcastle, UK by Edward Cullinan Architects. The LEGO model is by Steve Mayes, an architectural photographer and talented LEGO Artist. Maggie's Centre is a nonprofit organization dedicated supporting people living with cancer, in beautifully designed buildings by influential architects like Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid. Maggie's Centre (2013) in Newcastle, UK by Edward Cullinan Architects.Steve was generous enough to provide me with a lot of photos of his model, which I chose to show side-by-side with photos of the real building. I think he did an excellent job in capturing some difficult shapes and a lot of fine details in this model.Front of buildingRear of buildingAerial view of modelIf you would like to learn more about the design and construction process, and see additional photos of the model, visit http://thebrickarchitect.com/2015/maggies-centre-newcastle/Sincerely,Tom Alphin3 points

I'm not buying any of these this year. There were way too many sellers last year. It got up to $65 or so for a brief period but dropped back down by late Nov. This seems a lot less appealing than last years too. Santa Vader was the best. The droids don't do much for me. I hope those that take the plunge do well. You'll have one less person to compete with2 points

So I received a parcel from London Drugs today (I'd say they're like Walgreens for all our US friends... not sure about elsewhere... but they sell a little of everything). They're having a good sale on some LEGO right now but many BP members have been receiving them in bags and we all know how that often turns out. I received a single TREX tracker in black sticky wrap, taped up, in suprisingly good but the other order arrived like this. (this is staged, sort of, I put it back together after pic 2). Picture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3 Picture 4 (sorry, it's blurry) To top it all off, on this order I had forgotten to use their special LEGOSAVE10 code and emailed customer service about my order. They refunded the $10 with a pleasant reply. Then my parcel arrives as pictured...2 points

Trick or Treat - I can see picking up 120 of them, but that's a big investment at $10 each.1 point

Wondering if Snowspeeder 75049 is starting to make an exit - only available for in-store purchase at Target and Walmart and none of the Targets around me have any in stock. Local walmarts have a few. TRU and Kmart still have plenty. This set really appeals to me and I've got 20 which have all been obtained at discount but I might just have to scarf up the rest in nearby tax-free NH at $3.50 off MSRP. Largest (and best imo) non -ucs snowspeeder to date. Also with the new First Order Snowspeeder being released in a couple of days from Force Awakens set releases makes me think there will be rebel Snowspeeders in the new film which should help demand. _ESPECIALLY_ if we get a nice snowspeeder battle scene. SWOOSH goes the price!1 point

I sold all my batzaros for around $16 + shipping, all DVD were around $10 purchase price with some coupons. Sold the DVD for around $5 each. I pad shipping a little to offset fees, and basically doubled up. Went through about 10, so $100. My kids package them so not a lot of time. I figure trickster will sell about the same, I probably sell more than half international. I may have a different strategy than most, but if I sell a $5 profit item ever day (with good margins) that is $1500 a year to invest, or 10 or modulars1 point

Absolutely agree. If you couple the (apparently increasing) rate of scumbags returning pilfered sets to stores with resellers working to massively manipulate retailer stock, I think it is inevitable that stores will implement more stringent return policies. Pretty much everyone loses if that happens. In this specific set, I remain skeptical that LEGO would call it quits on this set this early and am not overly optimistic about the overall ceiling on prices. I QFLL a good fraction of what I have bought so that the profit pays for the small fraction I will hold longer. Then I am playing with house money where it is very hard to lose regardless of what LEGO decides to do with this set. (Clearly this implies I lie closer to the "resell to pay for my LEGO habit" than "resell for maximum return" end of the spectrum).1 point

Targets have the series 14. I have bought 6 boxes over the last 3 weeks. What is this one? Tiger lady I have found that in 6 boxes this is the rarest 2-3 per box, plants, spider and werewolves about 4 the rest more. Most common I think is the monster rocker and the scientist1 point

No idea what to think about this one. I'm sitting at 13 sets, which is either too many or too few, depending on what the redesigned box means for set longevity.1 point

Built WALL-E today - he looks awesome and I like the orange/yellow brick colors. As previous reviews have stated the neck IS a problem and mine will crash forward with slight touch. Thankfully LEGO is sending replacement parts for the forward leaning part. Unfortunately his head still swings around so I created a fix for my model - I know it won't be popular and I am not suggesting others do this - but it worked great for me: I put a tiny piece of scotch tape around the end of the technic pin which creates much more friction and now the head can look to the side and up without turning and facing backwards. In the end I am a little disppointed the set was released like this but in the end I am OK with my fix and the new parts coming will be interesting to see....1 point

Yeah, everything looks like you made a lot, until you factor in 12-15% in Ebay/Paypal fees, then another $10-$20 in shipping costs and not sure how some get around local sales tax? Once I get my eBay monthly invoice it always feels like I made only a couple bucks and the winners in all this is USPS, FedEx and Ebay... Oh and Lego for me buying it in the first place.1 point

Is there a chart or list where I can see all the retired product's dates? The price guide index does not show the retired dates...only the released dates...maybe Admin/Mods should add that option? It will be great if they do..1 point
