  1. I sold the very first two sets I bought when I got my first job in 2004. *tears* 7902 City Doctor's car for $20 7779 The Batman Dragster Catwoman Pursuit - $75

Here is a technique using LEGO pieces that looks a bit like a wall of sandbags. Sandbag Technique by EliteTC
  4. Careful. The Super Star Destroyer was also advertised right before it vanished completely. I'm not suggesting the Death Star is leaving us for good soon, but I wouldn't put much stake in the catalog when making your EOL investment decisions.
  5. I would not draw EOL conclusions from what is the catalog. the 2014 summer catalog had the SSD in it, even though it was basically gone before most got the catalog. It also had TH and AA, but did not have GE, or R2. AA was also in the 2014 holiday catalog. (dont quote me on this its just based on a quick google search and some memory.) I assume EOL sets are put in the catalog to encourage sales, but not all of them make the cut. And the catalogs are likely sent to the printers well in advance, so inventory at the time of shipping is hard to predict.
  6. The moment we get a standalone modular, the Internet will break from the complaining about it not fitting with the rest of the modulars and "what does this mean for Lego investing" because this is sending a clear message.
  7. An article was published today in the UK paper The Telegraph. Ed was interviewed in this article. If anyone in the UK can find a copy of this and send us a few that would be great. I will pay for all costs. Lego a 'better investment than shares and gold'
  8. That TLG didn't officially name it "Dominatrix in a Cougar suit" is a crime.

If this is not allowed, MODS please delete this post. Dunno if posted already but I came across this today:
  10. Been in a battle with another lego investor in my local Wal-Mart. They beat me to latest mark down with some Hurricane Heist and TMNT Lair but I was there today when they dropped there toys to almost 90% off. Lego were around 60% Got 8x Hurricane Heist for $29, Cloud Cuckoo for $5 and they had some bionicle for $5. And 4 other carts of toys for regular Amazon business. It was like black friday there as people were trying to take stuff out of my cart. Did give some to the ones that I knew were not selling them.
  11. When your banker advises you to invest in Lego we know we are in trouble.
  12. Had some blue and red from 31026-1 bike shop and don't think I'll sell it so I decided moccing it. The color corresponds well with the blue from the DO. The interior hasn't been done yet. Level floor will be bike shop. First and second floor a small studio with seperate bathroom. The entrance to the appartments is via the back. Still need to build a stairs but this will be combined with another MOC building I build with the rest of the 31026-1 pieces. Also need to print some custom stickers for the windows of the shop and the plaque above the door.
  13. . I did that once. Then only a few hours later, when I got home and wanted to order, they were all gone. Maybe... when I have reached my desired quantity I will name you my source of supply. Nothing personal, just business.
  14. That's because he doesn't have any R2D2s ready to be sold for 3x this Christmas and 4x the following Christmas.
  15. If you don´t get BBT series that means you are TOO (not ToO) geeky and you think it is a documentary not a comedy
  16. The Mirror, CNN, FoxNews, MSN. It's all the same
  17. Good - Holiday sets (40120 V-Day, 40121 Easter,40122 Halloween, 40123 Thanksgiving, 40124 Winter, 40125 Santa Visit) These are fun to build, my kids love them and they are great to flip. I know the last few havent been released yet but I figure I would include them. - 75902 Mystery Machine - Was worried the Scooby Doo sets would be more like the movies and not the cartoons but I was wrong and I like the whole line. This should be a great reseller this holiday season as well as years to come. - 70818 Double Decker Couch - What is not to like about this set? It was a great quick flip and comes with 5 figs and blue tiles for 15 bucks. - 76035 Jokerland - Fun build, many exclusive figs and I love something to add to my theme park collection. - 10249 Toy Shop reissue - I just got back out of the dark ages less than 2 years ago and I started building the WV with my daughter. My daughter really wanted to add this to the collection but I cant stand to pay more than retail so once its gone I rarely ever consider paying top dollar. I finally gave in and was ready to pay $160 or whatever they were going for before the announcement of this release. I seriously had one in my cart when I decided for whatever reason to check out the latest Lego news. Nice to have luck on my side for once. Just missed my top 5: 40153 Birthday cake(nothing like having slave Leia jumping out of the cake, and Series 14 figs I just love Halloween so this was an instant winner for me. Bad - 21302 Big Bang Theory, I like the show, love Lego but really dont like this set. The figs dont even look like the characters. - 31035 Beach Hut, looks like something that could had been produced 10 years ago. Think they could do so much better. - 41062 Elsa Castle, My daughter is nuts for Frozen and Lego but didnt play with the castle for more than a day or so. She still enjoys playing with the figs but the staircase set as she calls it is boring to her. - 75916 Dilo Ambush, you could put the whole line minus the dinos. The Dinos are great but the builds and the figs are just plain boring to play with. - 76037 Rhino Sandman, the set seems to fall apart if you try to play with it. Wish Rhino was more like Hulk or Grodd.
  18. Another UK article came out based on Telegraph UK article. This author added a little extra point of view as well. We knew it! Why buying Lego is better than gold, savings, houses and shares And I REALLY want this vending machine!!!!
  19. I meant the favor thing....from the movie...in his avatar... [emoji6]
  20. The reissue is probably our punishment for allowing Winter Village Market to sit on the shelf for so long.
  21. Tried to buy 3 Episode 7 sets that were out on the shelves at a store near here. But I was denied. May have gotten someone in trouble.
  22. You say too soon but look at the value in three years and then tell me what else you could have invested in that would have produced the same returns. I have some items that I hold on for "too long" and it may be three years but when the return is 100--200%, I understand it is just me being impatient.
  23. I remember this commercial from a dutch insurance company. Which illustrates this. Watch!

So a little smaller in scale, but my 7 year old this morning wanted to make his own micro Helicarrier, I thought it turned out quite well, with a couple of jets on the deck as well. :-)

  27. Your criteria entirely. COuld be good investments, one you gave someone as a present that made their day, good build or just sets that stood out for you.
  28. This post made me smile because I'm the polar opposite. To each their own! 2 x Star Wars for me, 2 x Bionicle for you - DEAL!
  31. True, It´s probably burnt onto the presses after so long.
  32. The Mirror! For the love on Benji, every halfwit with 10kg of Megabloks is going to think they have 10179. The Telegraph one was survivable, the readership are smart enough to read between the lines. But this....

Made from 100% genuine Lego, with some parts chromed! Check this out on his flickr bricksonwheels.
  34. Aahhhhh, I thought you were guessing cig was the BPer on the receiving end. My bad.
  35. Full set of Series 2 Mixels for €78 shipped to France. Got most of them 3 for the price of 2, just had to pay inflated prices for Flurr to make up the set. Damn those greedy resellers
  36. Good job, I see you used your profits and fed yourself very well.
  37. and JW as well - but this is a very brief catalog and many sets/themes (speed champions, juniors, duplo, pirates etc) do not appear
  38. I'm guessing at least a rumor should start going around in the next couple of months. Lately LEGO has been more tightlipped with these Expert releases until the official unveiling. Even the list that slipped out a month back included some of next year's Creator sets but did not have anything from the Expert subtheme listed. Best speculation from the traditional pattern formed over the years would indicate the next modular will be a corner unit.
  39. Don't worry. When I first started in 2013 I actually bought 2 of these. One I ended up opening and the other one I sold. Comes with the territory!

Not really a set alternate but interesting. PIMP my LEGO Classic mini with classic space mod! ! by Massimiliano Valentini
  41. It's long overdue, not like that phrase means anything as of late. It sounds illogical that LEGO would be willing to re-package this set if it really planned to retire it in the short term. No one can be sure, but I would not be surprised to see in the shelves for most of 2016. I have none anymore, so that could come haunt me if it ends up retiring this year,.
  42. Someone need to make an Anonymous call to CNN and tell them this set depicts suicidal tendencies.
  43. Im trying to buy more exos but silly shop at home certificate errors May have been off on this one but your red mixels series 4 suggestion was spot on

so what you are saying based on the seal codes is there have been no new production runs...Yet...? And when new seal codes pop up then that means they made a new batch...nothing is indicating that they could not or would not make more they just havent yet...
