So to celebrate the strong exchange rate from USD to CAD ($1 -> $1.30), Canada Post delivered these to me today. So this works out to about $92 USD per set.

Saw it briefly at my local TRU, but they pulled it when I tried to buy.

Walked in expecting to get an Ecto-1 or a Ultra Agents Ocean HQ or Birds, in that order, but when what before my eyes on the shelf sat........ the Avengers Helicarrier, marked at the low TRU price of 379.99. Armed w/ only my smartphone and a healthy dose of moxie, I asked the cashier if the coupon would work w/ it----lo and behold, it did. Unfortunately no gift cards on my person, and the box isn't perfect, but I walked out w/ the Helicarrier for $285 after tax. and a Joker Bumper Car for good measure. Not bad, plus the rewards points as well. Calling it a day.

Do you think anyone had these arguments about Cloud City when it was available? I'd like to have a few of them stuffed away in a closet.

I tell them the total doesn't sound right. They say, it's applied, it will come off after total. I tell them it's still wrong, they say they verified, it's there. "Are you sure you hit the button?" "Yes, it says right here." "OK, it didn't apply last time" I pay, get the receipt. Still says 15% instead of 20%, or 20% instead of 25%. Go to service desk, they tell me it takes 5 minutes for the system to update. They refund the difference to my card. Next week, same Bat Time, same Bat Channel.

It's not too hard to do the math ahead of time to know what you should be paying after the discounts are applied. To borrow some GI Joe quotes: -Anything worth doing is worth planning. -You'll never win if you give in. Knowing is half the battle folks.

Same thing happened to me last Thursday - I got home & realized they only took 15% off from my coupon instead of 20%, and didn't apply to 10% off either. And I didn't even use any gift cards - I paid for the entire balance with my CC! Returned it the next day. I think my mistake was using the cashier that always looks like she hates her life, the store, and any customer brazen enough to walk down her aisle. She's got a death stare.

agreed. plus we haven't had a failed lego cuusso / ideas set yet. even the train-wreck hood and door designs on the BBTF set couldn't keep it down.

The one closest to my house finally put them out today. I emptied 5 of the shelves to get 100 . They were saving it for a "promotion" which was way back in June. They must of figured they got no other JW sets to sell, so there is no more promotion LOL. EPIC Fail!

I just wanted to share a thought i had, and see if you all agree / disagree, what-have-you. Hasbro has raised the price of the classic 3.75" star wars figure from 9.99 to 12.99 The fact that they're already 9.99 may surprise the casual action figure fan as they were 1.99 in the olden days, 4.99-5.99 in the POTF2 days, and now moving from 9.99 to 12.99 as we transition to Episode 7. That's a HUGE increase. 30%. If there's ONE figure i'm dying to get, sure i'll pay the 13 bucks (plus tax), but if you want to buy say, all 20-50 new figures that come out in a wave / year,,,,,that's a HUGE increase. Many are openly saying 'they're done'. They'll never pay 13 bucks for ONE star wars action figure. I said the same thing a few years back when they were simply impossible to find at retail. The Vintage collection was plagued by poor retail availability (understatement) due to the fact that they derailed the line with a huge glut of Episode 1 figures that nobody wanted. Those sat on pegs for 2-4 years without moving and prevented the line from ever seeing wide distribution. Where did i go when i quit Hasbro? I came to Lego. Granted, action figure collectors can be the type to quibble over the poorly sculpted WRIST of a figure and call it a monstrosity, and how could i EVER consider such a piece of garbage as part of my collection......Those guys might not like the limited realism, and limited articulation of lego figures.......But there's something........pure about lego star wars. The confines of the medium make it perfectly OK for scale and detail to be non-realistic. It's charming instead of 'film innacurate'. Anyway, i say all that to say, if the remaining Star Wars toy collecting fan boys don't like a 30% increase in cost for their collecting dollars,,,,,they might be headed our way. Welcome Nerds, we've been waiting for you. And we have 4 stormtroopers for 12.99. They're available on every shelf of every store you could possibly stumble into. Enjoy.

Did you do it without a calculator or smart phone in your hand? The TRU cashier insisted that my math was incorrect because I didn't my phone or punch in the numbers on a calculator. After 30 seconds I politely said "I guess I'm wrong, I'll put it back on the shelf. Sorry." and walked back to the aisle recognizing that I am now scared for my children's future even more than ever. Maybe if TRU started selling an abacus.... The TRU I'm referring to in SoCal were near Long Beach, Fullerton and then all the way over near Ontario.

Another Family House for $98 shipped on eBay. These were the ~$35 sale variety from Target last Winter. Glad I cleared their shelves.

Don't forget to get the free Joker's Bumper Car today with a minimum $30 purchase. I was able to use the 20% off coupon, plus 10% TRUTH, plus TRU reward dollars and the rest on my CC to pay for an Ecto-1 and still received the bumper car for free. No issue and I had to nicely ask the cashier to make sure the 10% TRUTH came off. YMMV of course.

My opinion, if you aren't QFing JW like mad and getting the money now you are a clown. Boo ya!

I think flippers are making more than a few bucks off this set right now. If not, they're doing something wrong.

Maybe the smart thing to do cause if you still have them at this point your doing something wrong, unless your waiting for the restock to increase their value.

People are stupid. There's a scammer putting up top end sets on auction with no feedback and people are still buying off him. Any time I spot them I report them, but still miss a load of them. In the last day I've seen a Grand Carousel sell for over a grand, Death Star II for over €500 and an Imperial Flagship for €300, all with the same MO. Each case the country of sale is a European country, but the location is Hungary and the seller always has 1 feedback as a buyer from a Chinese seller, not rocket science that it's a scammer.

Sleeping on an important decision is always a good idea. Personally, it sounds like you are over analyzing your decision a bit. Box art? Price per piece ratio? More hoarded than ToO? When I decide what to buy I ask myself one thing...is the damn thing cool? When I look at it does it have the wow factor? If I feel that way about a set then chances are good that future buyers will feel the same way. Five years from now the person willing to spend 2-5x msrp for this set won't care about price per piece ratio. They will want it because it's a damn cool set, displays very well, and they missed out on it.

My first post of the forum! I Built the Tumbler as well today. It's an awesome set and I think it will be a winner after EOL. On the other note, what do you guys think of this "Hulk" Liberty? Built this a while back with Bricklink + PAB wall using lime green bricks. My friends been making fun of it but I think it's pretty neat.

Here for the smooshers are images displaying all character pieces separated. A lot of unique ones for sure which should make any of these crazy critters quite easy to find. I can hardly wait to start hoarding, er, I mean collecting every single monster here. Man these are just wicked cool.
