  2. List from 2016 rumors on hothbricks 40122 Trick or Treat 40123 Thanksgiving Feast 40124 Winter Fun 40125 Santa's Visit 40138 Christmas Train 40139 Gingerbread House 40140 Flower Wagon 40141 Bricktober Hotel 40142 Bricktober Train Station 40143 Bricktober Bakery 40144 Bricktober Toys R Us Store Most are predictable, but Christmas Train 40138 and Gingerbread House 40139 are Interesting. Given the numbering these could be mini builds (4013X), though that would put the christmas train in Jan?, or promo polys (like 40140) and the mini builds are only planed through dec? Also more bricktober mini modulars.

  4. Not sure if my last post went thru, but found these at my local Target today and they rang up $1.99 each. Got two plant guys, werewolf, spectre, and banshee.

  5. That's right. Raptors bite off the arm that feeds them. or arm wrestles with Satan donned in a white robe. At least I know now that Raptors are on the side of the Righteous. This gives a new definition to Rapture escape that someone posted the other day.

  6. 8 of these. And glad to see it changed from sold out to retired. Has very good potential.

  7. It's been a busy week. We've built all the Scooby Doo sets, 6036 Carnage Shield Sky Attack, 76037 - Rhino and Sandman Supervillain Team-Up, 6867 - Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape, and 6869 - Quinjet's Aerial Battle. Yes, we're opening retired sets and I still need to build Spidey-Cycle to have a NIck Fury. I'm totally blown-away by how small the new Quinjet is in comparison to the old one. 6869 is a great build and I guess it's underrated, since it's growth was stunted by the new inferior Quinjet.

  9. 2 of my SSDs are dented similar to that. 3 others are absolutely trashed courtesy of Walmart. The inner boxes are still sealed, albeit dented. The outer box looks like it went through a wood chipper. I am SO glad I kept them all.

  12. I'm going to blame it on mobile, I guess. I swear there were only two figures listed as being 5x on the list you guys posted in the last page of this thread. But, now that I'm on desktop, I see three. I don't believe that was Vodka that I put in my OJ this morning, either.

  14. This is a really cool take on the hulk buster suit. I love the scale of it and as I've said before I'm a sucker for any set that has a mech in it. Looks like a really cool build. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/103777

  15. Mixels Series 5 Klinkers. These fellas remind me of a time before now where we just call it all "steampunk" but instead something like 'clock tech' due to the gears, axles, and gyros similar to that of an old clock and no steam involved. Anyway I found the choice in colors & parts perfect and the character designs interesting & expressive. Overall my personal favorite from the group is easily Gox between the pieces included and the range of motion achievable. (Right now he is having a little head scratching moment pondering about something whatever that may be.) Jinky has a great frame but the gaping mouth large enough to drive a truck through can be distracting and I'm not a fan of his hands (or at least the process of trying to get those robo arms onto the ends of the exhaust pipes). Finally Kamzo is a nicely stout character with very simple but effectively expressive eyes. His right arm claw is very cool even though it cannot actually grab onto anything. I haven't built these Klinkers' Max form but I must say it could be the first I would be willing to. In other events, I took my complete set of Series 4 Infernites found on clearance at the same time as Magnifo and made a mini mixel mech from each of them. Jeeze, and I thought building the big ones were limiting. Haha. Well they turned out ....interesting to say the least. Meltus became a kind of fat little droid, Flamzer is some big blaster cannon, while Burnard came out pretty good like some versatile walking turret. At this size they aren't flexible by any stretch but they only need to look the part not move the part. Up next are the Frosticons and Lixers of Series 5.

  26. I thought this might be a good topic for some of us and maybe we can keep a running list. Here are some of the new sets that are not marked "Hot Buy" or appear to work with coupons. 30. Cargo Terminal for $185 shipped on eBay (shipping was low because close to home). Buy in was higher than some (~$80 last Christmas), but the ROI is nice for less than a year. Here comes the "I should have bought more of these..."

  31. Built the Minecraft Desert Outpost: the set is larger than I expected and I like the layout of the brick walls around the structures. I have built every Minecraft set except for the Nether and this set would be my 3rd favorite, the Cave being #1, the Mine #2, and this third. The Alex figure looks great and so does the wolf and the overall colors look more vibrant in person than they do on the box art and Lego website photos.

  32. Oh man, I would have trolled that poor soul mercilessly before giving the banhammer. I have had some luck with ebayers if they are offering close to the price I will have them purchase from BC to save on my fees and they can usually get the price they are looking for.

  33. Don’t worry too much about lotr and hobbit, both were heavily discount and are stockpiled. It’ll be a while before they appreciate substantially. Although if you want them, buy now as they can still (mostly) be had at below RRP. GB is a nice set and will likely do well, eventually. On the SW, B-Wing and Phantom from an investment perspective are likely poor choices. Both having heavy discounts and nothing particularly compelling for the secondary market. Buy/store and sell at some undefined point in the future, is a poor plan. Decide how long you want to store and when you need to see a return, this will likely affect the sets you buy. Decide which sets you like and the price you’re happy to pay, don’t let the discount be the deciding factor. SW is generally a good theme to invest in and there is an expectation that it will do well with the new movies. But there will be winners and losers in the theme. Many SW sets have done poorly in the past, even with heavy discounts. Take it slowly and decide what approach is going to work for you. Choosing what not to invest in is just as (possibly more) important as choosing what you will.

  35. True, with each round of new stock, it further diminishes it's potential. It's simple supply and demand economics. If it does come back in force than the swan song will already be written, and this has played out multiple times with multiple sets recently. If the RE stayed dead a month ago, then it did have a chance to go like the next zombies, but each time a restock happens, and hundreds of resellers snap up as you put it "hundreds". It's game over. At that point it's just a game for quick flippers to race each other to the bottom and cheer about who sold the most, even if they just made basically a few bucks on the sets by flipping hundreds. That's the point where I say the game is no longer worth it... Yes, I know.. everyone has different strategies, but in the end everyone is jumping into the same pool. Personally, i've already passed the point where I feel that buying most lego sets for investment is a decent move, but that's just my thoughts on the subject. The writing has been on the wall for a while now.

  36. my comment was not directed at anyone in particular. Was making a statement about race to the bottom comments. Point was if you dont have it ready to go you will not hit the peak while it is hot. Buy the time it hits and maintains a high price is when everyone joins in and lists. Then when restocks come obviously it is a downward spiral. How do you know this hasnt hit its peak? RI or exo ring a bell? They will be hard pressed to ever reach there previous highs again. You never know where a set will end up long term. There has been plenty available since saturday. 2 or 3 people have ordered a few hundred in that time. So think your numbers are way off there.

  38. To the Batcave, Robin! I suppose "Classic TV series" is referring to the 1960's one which would certainly make an interesting choice and if the new mold for Tigerwoman from Series 14 is any clue then the set may include a Julie Newmar Catwoman. Far out.

  40. Will be interesting to see if orders placed today actually ship given Wal Mart and their order fulfillment history, plus the seal codes if they're older or newer. I placed two orders for a couple each time for myself and nephews, plus to hold if Raptor Escape actually stays sold out.

  41. A set got sold today for £295 with Free P&P. Not bad for a set which sat on MSRP for more than a year. If one sits on this thing for a long period might just make a little profit.... Previously deemed to be one of the worst investments in my Brickfolio, this thing now starts to take off.... Nice!

  43. 2013 crane summer Flagship, F1 racer (1Half) and Service truck (2half) Medium sets 2014 volvo flagship Cargo plane (1h) and offroad truck (2h) medium sets 2015 mercedes flagship, Le mans car (1h) and tracked crane (2h) medium sets In EU we get 1 medium in 1h and 1 in 2h of every year with the flagship in the summer. In the US, everything seems to arrive in the summer, which is why 1h medium sets are rarer and command higher amounts in the US than in Europe. Flags usually last 2.5 years and medium sets anything between 1.5 - 2.5 years.

  45. Built Minecraft The Cave with my kids. What I really like about Minecraft is that the blocks are very basic. It is easy to expand with misc bricks we already have, so the Cave turned into a whole Minecraft world as time went on. It is also very easy for the kids to create in the Minecraft context.

  47. I have no idea where this would go, so feel free to move (or remove). From another site... Quote Seasonal set news! Holiday vignettes (like the Valentine's and Easter sets) Halloween: Kid trick or treating, dressed as a witch, there's a stoop and a front door with a skeleton answering it. Thanksgiving: Restaurant scene - chef wheeling out a full turkey on a cart, pie underneath it, there's a table with a woman sitting at it ready to be served. Christmas 1: Kids building a snowman outside a snowy front porch Christmas 2: "Santa's Visit" fireplace, tree, presents 2015 Holiday Promo sets First is a train, looks like a Christmas version of the Emerald Express. Second is a gingerbread house. Apparently looks amazing.

  48. My opinion isn't as popular because at this point in the game I would suggest that people buy less of everything. And not because I want it for myself. I'm taking my own advice.
