I put this together a couple of days ago in Excel. Basically, it is a 3 in 1 fee calculator including the three major LEGO selling sites in the US: 1- eBay 2- Our own Brick Classifieds 3- Bricklink They are all in the same worksheet making it easier for comparison and for you to play around with different prices and so on. On the eBay one, you can select some options from the dropdown lists (store, Top rated and such), while the other 2 are much simpler since there are no tiers in their fee structure. Please note that this is to be used only on LEGO listings. This is especially important for eBay since different categories have different Final Value Fees and I wanted to make this LEGO focused (Meaning I only used the 9% for the toys category). I cross checked this with some online calculators and found it to be accurate, but if you do notice a discrepancy please be sure to let me know. I am not sure if this will be helpful to anybody considering there are a number of calculators already available, but figure I would throw it in here just in case. Fee Calc V1.xlsxI7 points

Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but I just got my TRU bill, and it says there will be 10% off in store on Saturdays when using the TRU CC, from November 7th to December 19 (similar to last year).5 points

I did miss the olden days when Trek contributed great things to this site. Did anyone remember the Daily Summary posts ?5 points

Here for the smooshers are images displaying all character pieces separated. A lot of unique ones for sure which should make any of these crazy critters quite easy to find. I can hardly wait to start hoarding, er, I mean collecting every single monster here. Man these are just wicked cool.5 points

Is Luke in that set? Anyways, if it's not complete, don't list it as complete. Some people are lazy and don't read the complete details. But, I would agree with them in their not as described complaint. It's always better to just spend the 50 cents and buy the part.3 points

A very large image taken from the Starter Pack displaying all the currently known minifigures plus a special one to be included with a Midway Arcade booster pack of a gamer donning a dark jacket, green shirt, brand less soda, and a token. (Far right under Wave 4.) Source3 points

2013 crane summer Flagship, F1 racer (1Half) and Service truck (2half) Medium sets 2014 volvo flagship Cargo plane (1h) and offroad truck (2h) medium sets 2015 mercedes flagship, Le mans car (1h) and tracked crane (2h) medium sets In EU we get 1 medium in 1h and 1 in 2h of every year with the flagship in the summer. In the US, everything seems to arrive in the summer, which is why 1h medium sets are rarer and command higher amounts in the US than in Europe. Flags usually last 2.5 years and medium sets anything between 1.5 - 2.5 years.3 points

Materials guide for LEGO selling & shipping Many members have asked for a centralized place where they can go for shipping box information. I'm going to pin this post and update it as new information is provided. I just want to take a few minutes and thank those who wrote the following articles. They are still very good reference materials for the LEGO storage and shipping process. I may develop this into a blog article eventually. For battle packs and even small sets, I sometimes use Wal-Mart, Target, or plastic bags from any store. Additional packing isn 't really needed. No - it was 30% of the total asking price, not 30% less. And my asking price is only about 10% above the going rate2 points

ALSO. I would recommend ordering a stash of different sized Priority mail boxes from USPS to have on hand. In many cases it's cheaper to upgrade a shipment to Priority mail AND you can cut down the boxes as needed.2 points

+1 to what Exciter said. I've placed two (separate) orders of small boxes from Staples. Had them shipped to store each time to get free shipping. Boxes were usually shrink wrapped with an excessive amount of shrink wrap. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.2 points

Just because I don't consider myself less than you doesn't mean I consider myself more. You're absolutely right, I took issue with the characterization. Just because someone buys JW sets also doesn't mean they are a new investor. We all have goals. Can you start a poll?!? "Nit Picker" would be a great thread...2 points

The 20% off also stacks with the Friends and Family 15% off coupon. This is a surprise since all of the coupons they've offered lately has excluded LEGO. Anyone find some good deals? Nothing earth shattering at the Kirkland store. Friends and Family.pdf2 points

Personally, I create a new list for all ordered items, or a sublist - example 10190 Market Street and 10190 Ordered Items so that when the items are actually delivered, you can delete them. This is valuable when you are working on multiple projects and when you receive the wrong order (happens to me about 10% of the time, particularly with gray pieces). If you want to delete them right away, there is a link to go to the ordered items compared to wanted list from the order page (the screen immediately after you agree to the order and select a payment method), you can use the select all to delete the items from your wanted lists on the spot.1 point

A set got sold today for £295 with Free P&P. Not bad for a set which sat on MSRP for more than a year. If one sits on this thing for a long period might just make a little profit.... Previously deemed to be one of the worst investments in my Brickfolio, this thing now starts to take off.... Nice!1 point

I bought my first batch of boxes from Staples last winter (40% off), and have been very happy with them. I had trouble deciding what sizes I wanted (didn't want to have 6 different box sizes, and didn't really think I'd use that many ... I reuse a lot of boxes). In the end, I chose 24x16x4 for most of my bigger sets, and 18x12x4 for medium sets. I was right not to buy anything smaller... free Priority Mail boxes do great for anything under 12x13 or so (I use a LOT of USPS Regional Rate Box A, Box 1092, etc). I also thought I wouldn't need many bigger boxes, because I store most of my big sets in the carton they came in. But what I'm finding is that a lot of shipping cartons for the bigger sets are over-sized, and cost extra to ship... also need extra packing bubbles, etc. And of course, many of my recycled boxes are a little beat-up. When I sell a set for $200 or more, I just don't feel right shipping it in a piece-a-cr4p dirty used box. So lately I've been using a lot of my 24x16x4's to ship out Dolphin Cruisers, JW I-Rex (fits perfect), Ninjago City of Stiix, etc. And I don't think I've used any of the 18x12x4 boxes I bought - they're not long enough for the bigger sets, and too big for anything else. So my next order, I'm going for more 24x16x4's and some 24x20x6's to handle my big exclusives. Of course, it all depends on what you're shipping, but for me, the only boxes I need to buy are for bigger sets.1 point

Welcome! There is nothing wrong with buying only what appeals to you. A lot of members on here take that approach. Determine what your end goal is. Buy/Build/Display? Or perhaps the investor approach: Buy/Store/Sell later? There is a great deal of information on this site and quite a few members from the UK! So happy reading.1 point

I don't believe there is a way to order under the minimum bundle quantity. You can purchase them individually in their retail locations but at a higher price point.1 point

Yes, it is a nice set. For me it is and was not easy to swallow the 230 euro buy-in. Especially cause I bought the first two at the retail price of 200 euro at SaH Germany. But at the end of its lifespan it might even turn out not to be so bad. Now wait and see how it will perform. It is not a set I would like to keep for my personal collection. So I can easily sell them later on. If it does not become a success my wife has to make it up to me.1 point

I like the set. Its diferent and that can get some eyes on it. I wouldnt mind having 2 or 3 to sell down the road1 point

I guess I shouldn't judge, since we are all "hoarders" to a degree. The difference is that we hoard plastic treasure as compared to the huge mountains of junk and clearance fodder that I witnessed over the past two days. It was quite a sight to behold, but I'm not complaining one bit...lol.1 point

Like Ed, I also found that using paper and flatten us priority mail boxes to help with protection. If it's a really valuable set, I also cut corner L shape supports from existing boxes that are too small to use for shipping. Notes: I do like styrofoam peanuts better than paper if I have some laying around. I just don't like paying for it. When using the peanuts, I place a bag around the set so the buyer won't need to flick them off the Lego box.1 point
