  1. I decided to stop by a Goodwill store on my way to dinner and as I walk through the door, right on front on top of a glass case was a UCS Slave 1. Price was $99. I was able to open the box and verify all the bags were there (and sealed) so I picked it up. I got a 10% off discount so got it for $96 after tax, Afterwards I went to a Lego store (also on the way to dinner) and stumbled upon the whole JW line. Picked up 5 Raptor Rescapes. I consider this trip a success

  3. Even if the Ewok Village does retire end of the year, why sell it to make $50-100 just wait it will be a $500 set or so, just like people saying the Batman Ayslum is a dud, another bad move to sell them early to make a few bucks, don't worry the prices on both of these will rise, thats why I say alt least 75% of people crack and can't wait. I have 30 EV, and 33 AA, and glad I have all of them. Ed

  4. I have no idea where this would go, so feel free to move (or remove). From another site... Quote Seasonal set news! Holiday vignettes (like the Valentine's and Easter sets) Halloween: Kid trick or treating, dressed as a witch, there's a stoop and a front door with a skeleton answering it. Thanksgiving: Restaurant scene - chef wheeling out a full turkey on a cart, pie underneath it, there's a table with a woman sitting at it ready to be served. Christmas 1: Kids building a snowman outside a snowy front porch Christmas 2: "Santa's Visit" fireplace, tree, presents 2015 Holiday Promo sets First is a train, looks like a Christmas version of the Emerald Express. Second is a gingerbread house. Apparently looks amazing.

  5. Surprise points came out this morning. I noticed I got a $30 off $30 that works with Lego. First time I've seen it. It's unbelievable how many points they've given away over the last few months. I feel like I'm on a gravy train with biscuit wheels!

  8. I've had this exact situation recently and quoted my return policy (2 weeks), but also said that I would make an exception and replace or refund the product in full if the buyer returned the item. Buyer responded and thanked me for my excellent service and said he changed his mind and would keep the item after all. I believe most people are reasonable - it's the scammers that make our lives difficult.

  11. Patience is advised with this set. People will look back 3-4 years from now and see that it is $500-600 and wish they had a few. Quality set. People need to stop micromanaging and give sets like this some time to increase. I hear the Town Hall is a loser too...

  13. Sold my first BARC Speeder w/ Sidecar today for $49 shipped. I grabbed a couple handfuls when they were ~$17 on clearance last winter. With Captain Rex in this season of Rebels, I might be able to squeeze a little more from these.

  14. Before the list of sets was taken down from the Amazon site, I did notice a full selection of more vehicles (around six or so) for this Toys R Us exclusive theme. A couple of which are supposed to be a Mustang and then somewhere is a Camaro. I should have realized what had happened was going to happen and make a copy for later reference but no use crying over spilled milk. Well if they are to continue the racing form tradition in the prior wave with this one, I imagine all will be based on modern models. Never mind, I just found a copy of the list. Here are the Speed Champions for 2016 everybody! 75870 - Chevrolet Corvette Z06 = 14.99 €75871 - Ford Mustang GT = 14.99 €75872 - Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro = 14.99 €75874 - Chevrolet Camaro = 34.99 €75875 - Ford F-150 Raptor = 49.99 €

  18. There was only SOLD OUT and no "we're making more" for Tower Of Orthanc for a few weeks and then it came back to orderable yesterday. These statuses mean almost nothing.

  19. Raptor Escape has moved to "call to check product availability". Usually when it hits this status, it seems retirement is imminent. --------- Well disregard... it moved back to sold out. Which status is it lego?

  20. I'm going with the Chrysler Building for New York. There are a lot of pictures of Adam Reed Tucker working on sets in the other various architecture sets and in articles - and there is a nice looking Chrysler Building design in the background that looks like it could fit that price point. Side note - another Burj Kahlifa is stupid. IMO the first one is by far one the worst builds and designs in the entire architecture line - and I say this as I stare at it on my shelf next to my UN building and Sydney Opera House - man it's lame. If they do another Dubai based set, I would hope it's the Burj Al Arab, by far on the most appealing buildings in that city. There was a nice MOC posted in Lego Ideas of it - but it never got a lot of votes and the time expired.

  24. I have a feeling that there will be a deluge of chip disks available cheap for people who just want to play the game. I think that some people will buy some of these expansion sets just to sell the minifigures, and try to make a small amount to the gamers by selling just those RFID disks

  25. This is a set one would find most difficult to part with in my opinion. You would have to pry it from my cold dead hands ....and I don't mean that figuratively.

  27. I don't really know what's going on with JW or any Lego line for that matter, but it's obvious part of Lego's strategy is collectability (which Google spell check tells me isn't a word, even with an "i"). I doubt there's a full "flood brick and motar stores" push to coincide with the DVD release though, because that's just not Lego's style. Part of what has made Lego cool and the top of the toy heap is that they don't cater to the masses... much. Besides, when that DVD pops, stores will be in full Holiday/Star Wars mode. Time will tell of course. I'm not on their marketing team. We all try to read the tea leaves, but they're just that--tea leaves. Lego may have misfired with its prediction of JW popularity. That's all. They seem to have gotten the Ideas BBT set right this time. It still has yet to sell out after the runs on other Ideas sets last year.

  29. Indeed! Lesson learned for me. I contemplated bailing on the deal, but felt obligated to go through with it because the seller drove 3 hours to deliver it to me. I compensated him for the transport costs, but it would not have been right to change my mind, even though the product was not what he described. We agreed on a lower amount and that was that. My wife is mocking me as we both sift through this pile in the wee hours of the night LOL. I know what you mean, I enjoy reading others experiences as well and hope to learn from them. I got back into Lego just a few months ago and had some success getting new exclusive sets at good discounts.....can't win them all

  31. Agree, can't draw any conclusions to it. On the other hand wonkiness in statuses is a step toward being done. Up to this point, RE hasn't been Call to Check yet. Even if RE comes back at Lego stores, I don't think it's going to flood Walmarts again.

  36. Switch the wild west aspect with the dark ages and that sounds about right. (Bravestarr was awesome by the way.) Remember how Eternia in the original He-Man series was set in a futuristic fantasy of science fiction and castles? That could be another possibility.

  39. ^ As opposed to every other thread and set on this forum? Get over it. People are allowed to speculate and I didn't hear anyone say outright they can tell the future. Everyone gave reasonable thoughts on the set until you popped in and I enjoyed hearing what they had to say. For a mod, you are the crankiest dude ever. Not sure why you even like this site.

  40. Current Lego exclusives set investment calls for highly patient and loaded$ individuals. Everyone thought buying exclusives would double their money in a year or 2. Not anymore as the Lego investment game has inched closer to many. Case in point, the FB is trading at $350 avg on ebay. Most got them with tax for $215. thats $135 profit, then minus the $50 ebay fee, that leaves you with $85 and not to mention some desperate sellers that's willing to fork over the shipping. $85 on a $215 investment does look good if you didn't have to wait. This set is approx 20 month eol. (Thats 20 months + the months prior to retirement...for some, 2 years) So, Lets go back to "doubling" your money, You would have to sell the FB at $500-$510 (Maybe next Christmas and that would be 36 months+) Now, Imaging how many PS are sitting inside closets. Please do not retort the numbers with YOUR "buy In" price. "Yeah, BUT I got mine for $85 with 8 coupons, a gold chain and my initial CC sign up reward points."

  41. I have 2 MISB and a gently used display set I picked up off eBay for personal use, so as an end user I really believe in this set. Objectively speaking though, the eBay sales prices haven't been awesome lately. A complete used EV set went for about $160 this week. Maybe that will improve as the supply drys up and this is a sleeper, but compared to other sets under similar circumstances I'm getting a fairly Luke warm reception.

  42. I think that was for the silver mine review. That was well done! it won't fit without modification, the gate's entrance is 7 studs wide and about 7 studs tall at the lowest part of the arch. Lego track is 8 studs wide.
