  2. UA Ocean HQ. I haven't built let alone bought anything in this theme but when I saw Jangs review it got me. I was able to pick it up at TRUT for $60 and for that price not only is it a great build but nice display and awesome play set. It is very similar to building the tumbler not just because it is black but it has a technic core with many neat building techniques at different angles to complete the set. It does not have hull pieces like a traditional ship so at 1204 pieces you get a lot for your money. Also it is heavy and almost 2 feet long. I even applied the stickers. The side panels open up like Jabbas sail barge to reveal Accesories and play areas. I will include a pic so you know what set I am talking about but it probably won't do it justice. I swapped out all the Trans orange and some of the white with Trans light blue and I have a BL order on the way to finish off the main Gatling gun in Trans light blue. Up next is the DBZ

  9. Found 1 at TRU and asked if he had any coupons and he scanned the 25 percent off. Buy in was 47 and listed on Amazon for $94 and sold in 5 minutes. QFLL at its finest.

  10. Pretty sure this is due to actual consumers as well. I think many underestimated the power and popularity of Scooby and the gang.

  19. Practice really helps with feeling the bags - try with a few blind bags you don't care about opening and smoosh away until you get the hang of it. As previous posters have said the accessories can be the best way to confirm and having the checklist in front of you of each figure can help. And just take your time, shake the contents of the bag so the small items settle into the corner - like you said you could feel the slingshot so it sounds like you are well on your way already.

  20. this is a great point, because what is to prevent a buyer who purchases a specific unopened figure from you to claim that they received something else? Pretty much nothing, and without opening it yourself beforehand you can't prove it was the figure you listed.

  21. Bump codes don't seem to work anymore. Best way to do it is to smoosh. I'm of two minds on this topic - as a seller, I prefer to keep them sealed so my buyer knows that they are getting a minifigure that is completely brand new. This also lets the buyer have the fun of opening the bag. However, as I buyer, I want to know that I really am getting what I paid for. I want to see that it's really that mini before I buy it. Because of that, I'm leaning toward opening minifigs and immediately sealing them up into plastic bags. I've got a ton that are sealed, but I almost feel better knowing for sure that I've got the mini I think I do before I sell it. Just in case I've screwed it up.

  22. That's a new line up. For Elves, there's been questions as to whether there would be an Emily Jones set, so it's nice to see that happening. I wonder if the Palace Pets set will be a Duplo set or fit into the regular line. My 7 year old daughter loves Palace Pets, so I'm hopeful it won't be Duplo. Friends has me intrigued and worried. Yet another Cafe/Bakery type set in the Cupcake Cafe. That's a bummer. However, the Party sets and the Archery set has me interested. And there's another Tree House. After the last one eluded me for so long, I'll probably buy this one soon after it's arrival. The only thing missing from the "girls" list is the DC Super Hero Girls line.

  23. As a collector, Lego is really letting me down. How can they have a brand new set sell out the first day that it's released?! Are they trying to manipulate the supply chain like Nintendo does with amiibos? We all know what a huge cluster collecting those have become. There's really no excuse for this. Yeah the horde has played a part but a large multi-billion dollar company should be able to plan for this. Anyways horde. Unleash the dogs and go to work. There's money to be made as TLG stubbornly tries to leave multiple sets on life support without meeting the needs of the marketplace.

  24. I've come to the conclusion Lego can't meet demand. Too many people on this globe can gobble up thousands of sets in an instance. This is making me really reconsider the entire "episode 7 sets are going to be flooded all over the planet" mantra. Maybe they'll attempt that, but fall very short. It could very much happen. Seems this is the case with most everything they put out now. They would have to attempt to produce 100's of thousands of copies to flood demand in a world of 7 billion, and maybe they just can't do that sort of capacity.

  25. So are people buying these at retail? I just found two at a Walmart but passed, still feel like they will come back in force with another run, or I could get them cheaper through TRUTH.

  29. I sold another one for $62.99 + 5.49 - now i'm out of 'in hand" stock. I have more on their way from walmart to be picked up in tax-free NH on Wednesday. I will go out cruising later this afternoon for some sweet summer turboQFLL . Between Halloween and Xmas, this set has the potential to keep on giving during Q3 and Q4 2015.

  32. The recently added "BB" sets above (in the edited list) appear to align with the "Big Bang" Lego books found on Amazon yesterday (noted in the Brickset forums). Further discussion indicated that "Big Bang" is the placeholder used for new in-house themes. So, with a list of 10 or so "sets", plus a couple of books...it would appear that a new in-house "brand" is coming in early '16. The brickfan attempted to sort the list here: http://www.thebrickfan.com/possible-lego-2016-set-list/ Link to Amazon book listing here: http://www.amazon.com/Activity-Book-Minifigure-LEGO-Bang/dp/0545905842/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1438399614&sr=8-1&keywords=Activity+Book+%231+With+Minifigure+(LEGO+Big+Bang)

  37. Ahhh, the continuous we matter that much debate. Look at annual sales, then look at total brickfolio values. Do the standard division. We are not that important. Lego only cares about their brand image and managing that. Global companies that are multi billion dollar firms don't care about peanuts. They care about global objectives. I believe they have moved closer but not exactly to a JIT inventory system, due to scope and size it makes sense as well as fabricates rarity and demand.

  38. Well it looks like I have one to build... Is this something you guys would contact Amazon about? It definitely happened in shipping since the outer box matches the inner. I gave my boxes a shake and didn't hear any lose pieces rolling around pseudoty.

  39. It just occurred to me that lego.com had a teaser recently that showed a bantha and a group of Tusken Raiders. I'm starting to think that the "droid pod" set might be a lot cooler than what some of us might be thinking. Seems like a perfect set to get a Bantha and some Sand People.

  46. For those who have been following this topic for a while may remember there was a general "How to" guide in the main post. Well the last forum conversion seemed to have lost the data and images from that leaving a couple sentences cutoff and a lot of empty space. Anyway I finally managed to fix up that guide with the correct pictures and such so anyone in need of some help getting started with their own modular house, hopefully the brief guide will give a good start in the right direction.

  47. I don't go to the Lego store often. I was just there yesterday after not having gone in the past 4-5 months. Saw the UCS Slave I on display and it gets me every time how impressive the set looks. I know it's still early for this set but I think this one's a winner all the way. Will try to get as many as I can with as much discounts/promos over the next year or so.
